hi, this is probably a weee bit early for some ppl, but im waiting til end of this month to ttc (the desperation, brooding over other peoples babies and feeling jealous of pregnant women , thinking of names and waiting 2 symptom spot kicks in)
so come along and join the journey to motherhood!

Oh dear oh dear oh dear. Night out last night with dh, brother and sil. Very nice meal. Somehow drank way too much, as did dh. Very kind sill drove us all home and put up with much drunkenness. Total waste of dc staying at pill for the first time overnight. I thought we were old enough now to know when it's time to stop.

Just as well we are not ttc this cycle (although some practice bd'ing would have been quite welcome).

Silly silly conkertree.

monkeyblonde · 27/11/2010 10:22

BabsH please can I join? I fell off the August bus yesterday due to unwanted (but expected) appearance of AF.

Off to get some OPKs etc today as first month of trying would have just been lucky!

BabsH · 28/11/2010 14:48

Hey broodyjemz,

Sorry that your not well, hopefully the doctors will help and you'll be feeling better soon :o

level · 28/11/2010 19:55

Well we went to the doc on Saturday and it was all pretty straightforward. I told him we'd been ttc for 13 months although we've which is sort of true although we've only been trying properly since March. He hardly asked any questions.

Although the NHS is great, the appointment times are really inconvenient if you work full time. At some point I think work will start to wonder why I've got all these gp appointments.

I reckon there's nothing wrong but I'm an eternal optimist!

Morning all, hope you are enjoying the snow today, am going to try to make it into work, but could be interesting!!!

MrsSatsuma · 29/11/2010 12:22

Will somebody please send the snow down here?! I'm getting snow envy!!

Have officially taken last pill (am impatient so missed the last one of the course... figured one day won't make any difference...) so baby making shall commence shortly. Coupled with a return to work, very busy and stressful last three weeks of term, and in-laws coming down, this could be an interesting month. And I can't even drink wine now either Shock

edwardcullensotherfairy · 29/11/2010 13:28

Afternoon ladies, it's been a busy week! How's everyone doing?
I need some tips - got a family party New Years Eve, and need some excuses for not drinking. I'm staying with family for the whole weekend which makes it even more awkward! And it's unlike me to turn down a glass of wine, so it'll be a bit suss!
Hoping for BFP in a couple of weeks Grin but if not, I still don't want to drink much as we'll obviously keep trying.
So, any tips? faked a tummy-ache on a hen night when pg with DS, but don't think that'll cut it for a whole weekend Confused Grin

Brasso4 · 29/11/2010 13:35

Hi all, blooming cold today! Some snow with us but more due...
MrsSatsuma are you returning after mat leave? I go back to school on 8th December after my leave - last very busy 8 days.

I never have any symptoms but had a lovely weekend, my parents are moving house this week so will partake in some champagne on Tuesday who knows, might be my last!

conkertree · 29/11/2010 14:45

Edward - as someone who also never turns down a glass of wine, there are very few tricks that actually work in my opinion. The only ones we used with any success with ds 1 and 2 were dh serving the drinks and me having gin and tonics with the gin, or elderflower juice instead of wine, but the wine in particular really only works in your own house so you can serve.

My works night out with ds1, I had a very kind friend who drank both of our wines at the Christmas dinner, and it was fine cause there was so much on the table that nobody really knew whose glass was whose anyway.

Loads of snow here today. Hooray. Although working from home means you never really can't get to wrk, but dh is upstairs working so it's nice to have his company.

conkertree · 29/11/2010 14:46

I of course meant without the gin. Bloomin iPad.

Arabella36 · 29/11/2010 14:50

Hi Edward, it depends how serious you are about not arousing suspicions. If you Really don't want people to guess then you can accept the glass of wine and have a little sip or two, then sneakily wander into the kitchen and pour most down the sink. They'll not notice. I know someone who did this at a Halloween party and we all thought she'd been knocking them back!

I think once you say your not drinking on new years, then whatever the excuse people might wonder about pregnancy. But people won't be cheeky enough to ask you outright!

MrsSatsuma · 29/11/2010 14:53

No, no DCs yet - am going back after a week off ill. Just in time for end-of-term madness whoop whoop...!! At least a lot of it will be assessing them so not too much planning involved.

Might try the 'got a headache' way of not drinking... my mum will suss in a second so have to be very careful!

Arabella36 · 29/11/2010 14:58

Just saw conkertree's answer - I like the idea of getting someone else to drink your alcohol for you, maybe your DH could oblige
