hi, this is probably a weee bit early for some ppl, but im waiting til end of this month to ttc (the desperation, brooding over other peoples babies and feeling jealous of pregnant women , thinking of names and waiting 2 symptom spot kicks in)
so come along and join the journey to motherhood!

Thanks Broody. Hi all and congrats to Jojay. PS like the Christmas namechange (I'm Wombat33)??

BabsH · 01/12/2010 18:06

Evening all,

congrats to Jojay, lets hope that this is the first of many BFP's Xmas Smile

Hi GetDown, sorry to hear that AF got you, but you never know, this month could be your month... I had a lovely couple of glasses of wine when AF came and now DH and I are back on the schedule!!!!

I was snowed in again too conker, but the whole office was closed, so at least today I didnt lose a leave day, spent a fair amount of the afternoon digging out the car to be able to get to work if possible tomorrow, with a few of neighbours, commenting on my hard work!!!

Excellant name change wombat, I'm thinking that there must be something a little more exciting namewise but still got my thinking cap on!!!

kat2504 · 01/12/2010 18:23

Hi there just looking at the bus and waiting to buy a ticket. AF due in a couple of days but no symptoms and even FR says no so am expecting to be joining you soon. Glad to see there's a BFP already, hopefully a very lucky bus.
As a bonus, I'm expecting my ov date to be right at the beginning of the school hols so will be off work with plenty of SWI time :)

Brasso4 · 01/12/2010 20:17

Congratulations Jojay, hello again GetDown, I hopped straight here from the July bus - sorry that you had no success on the August bus.

conkertree · 01/12/2010 20:21

Hi kat-hope you don't make it on here (in the nicest possible way of course). I think I am a reasonable seasoned mums netter but I don't know what FR is?

Babsh - that was lucky about the office. I work from home so had no excuse really for not working, except mil couldn't come to look after the boys on Monday and dh has been home working all week so it's definitely had a festive feel to the week. Also ds1 has really bad eczema and it's really cleared up this week for the first time since April so we are starting to think he might be reacting badly to nursery and toddler groups, but I guess it could be coincidence. Has been a good week.

Anyway - long post sorry.

dietcokesholidaysarecoming · 02/12/2010 08:29

Hi all- congrats jojay- lovely to hear about your bfp

I'm feeling a bit confused. No af-no idea when it will cone. BFN yet feeling odd in morning. Waking up straving yet feeling sick.

Wish AF would come so at least I could chart my cycle!

Can I just ask what SWI means?

BabsH · 02/12/2010 09:53

Hey dietcoke

SWI means sex with intent, the acronyms section above will help with some of the more commonly used terms.

Hope you feel better soon :)

MorayRose · 02/12/2010 11:59

Huge CONGRATULATIONS Jojay!

DH and I both have an unexpected weekend off thanks to the snow so I'm looking foward to lots of SWI! Think it might be a bit too late for this month though but what the heck!

DH is very much of the opinion that we should just see what happens rather than start charting, taking temps etc... I have to say that I'm already beginning to get impatient and this is only our 3 month of TTC.

mslk · 02/12/2010 14:27

Hi please may I join? Just fell off the August bus, AF has me today.

Hope this is our month!

BabsH · 02/12/2010 16:50

Hey MSLK, sorry to hear that AF got you this month, my DH is stuck away for work so think I might have missed my best time for this month to be our month either, so might be off shortly to start up an October bus!!!

How's everyone with the whole snowed in thing? I forget how terrible day time tv is and housework is sooooo terrible too, cant wait to get back to work and normality!!!

mslk · 02/12/2010 21:54

Fingers crossed Getdown, perhaps the magic of xmas will help us along?!

Hey BabsH hope you haven't missed your opportunity.

Not snowed in here, roads are just passable, not been out in my car though - too scared!! Xmas Grin

Gobolino · 03/12/2010 10:34

That's exactly what I thought GetDown - either I'll be celebrating or on the bubbly. Although knowing my luck I'll be in limbo!

This is a bit Blush and possibly TMI, but has anyone else had cystitis while TTC? I've had it for a week now (going to doctor today as the cranberry sachets haven't worked) and haven't really been prone before. In my head I'm blaming it on going to sleep after SWI without... ahem... freshening up. Hope it clears up soon, it's really annoying.

BTW if anyone else gets it the cranberry sachets say not to take them if you're pregnant. I had to wait till AF arrived to start them, which is probably why it's stuck around.

Arabella36 · 03/12/2010 13:08

Hi goblin, just tell the gp to give you an antibiotic which is safe in pregnancy. I had a course of them in my first trimester and it was fine.

Arabella36 · 03/12/2010 13:09

Meant goblino the iPad did that sorry!!

BabsH · 03/12/2010 13:27

Hi all,

doubt I'm going to have much chance this month, he's in Glasgow, I'm in Perthshire and the trains aint running....

I think I'll stick around for a bit, hoping that there are a whole lot of BFP's for you guys and I promise I'll make the October bus all comfy for anyone who has the misfortune to get a visit from AF. Throw cushions and the like maybe?!?

broodycoilsout · 03/12/2010 13:30

gobolino i got cystitis right at begining of my 1st pregnancy-a couple of weeks b4 i found out i was, tehn had it several times during pregnancy (if you 'just know' you have it at any point, pls make it clear 2 dr's, as i didnt and tehy didnt believe me and told me i was in labour and sent me home- couple of days later got admitted as infection had spread, spent 2 nights (including my due date)in hospital not having a baby but on a drip). its nothing to worry about, im just saying please get things like that treated asap while its still minor.2nd pregnancy i didnt get any water infections :-)
perhaps tell dr you're ttc so they can give u something that is safe in pregnancy
also i read that going for a wee just b4 and just after sex reduces risk of getting it Blush

Arabella36 · 03/12/2010 13:30

Throws and cushions sound nice. Can we have hot water bottles too please?

BabsH · 03/12/2010 13:52

Absolutely, I'll bring along my winnie the pooh hot water bottle cover, he has a padded tummy and everything - class!!!

mslk · 03/12/2010 14:00

BabsH if winnie the pooh's going to be on the Oct bus I'll bring my Tigger hot water bottle cover, if I'm there too.

BabsH · 03/12/2010 14:10

Just need an eyeore and we'll be sorted!!! Maybe piglet too Xmas Smile

Arabella36 · 03/12/2010 15:13

I'll bring piglet!

Gobolino · 03/12/2010 15:32

Well it's official, I have 'honeymoon cystitis'. How romantic - not! Grin

Nurse was lovely, said it's very common when people first start ttc as they think (as I did) that you have to give the swimmers time to do their job after sex so lie there with their legs in the air instead of going to the toilet.

You're right broody, a wee after sex flushes the bacteria away from the area. Sorry to hear about what happened to you, sounds horrid. And thanks for the advice. Have antibiotics now.

Gobolino · 03/12/2010 15:34

I might bring my puss along if I catch the October bus. She's as good as a hot water bottle. Day off work today and the flat's freezing so we're keeping each other warm.
