I've started a new thread!

OP posts:
Beattiebow · 01/11/2010 06:51

Hi everyone can I ask those that temp what they do about the clocks going back?

I'm so sorry 40somemum I understand about not wanting to wait. I went the natural route in feb and wouldn't recommend it, but it did go quite wrong for me. I haven't read up on the ashermans risks of though.

Jolls I am with E today too! A v expensive day for me today. Wish it would bloody work.

OP posts:
gumblossom · 01/11/2010 10:21

Looks like it must be SWI time, I keep wondering what random men's sperm is like! In terms of how good it is, IYKWIM, not ,like, what it tastes like, or feels like Blush.

bloody Hell, that sounds stupid...But do you know what I mean? Around Ovulation time, I do have some strange thoughts. I hope DH is up for it...I want me a BFP! I'm getting sick of the wait. My friend is already 6 months pregnant.I remember when she found out, and I was wishing it were me.It seems so long ago.

I've got acupuncture tomorrow. So if O hasn't arrived, I shall ask her to "tweak" me.

Must dash - best check on the roast pork, then the kids in the bath...

Diege · 01/11/2010 13:12

Hello!
Aw Hippy what a bummer about af Sad It's like there's very few things in life that you give of your best, month after month, put all the prep in etc, and then it doesn't work.. As BB says, a few more days...
*BB/Jollster I think you are both destined to meet at some point! Maybe you should knit mini slankets and pin them onto your coats or something? Grin
40some thinking of you xxx
Well I'm, in a limbo of sorts. BFNs (last one I did on Thurs) but boobs very sore, metallic taste in mouth, and temps still high Confused. I have ONE test left (out of a shameful batch of 25 Blush) but will wait until temps stay high for at least 4 more days (as if..). Oh and on temping front BB I woke up 'old time' anyway (6am) so just took it then.

Beattiebow · 01/11/2010 13:57

how many days dpo are you diege? sounds promising I think - thursday was a long time ago now, I think you should be thinking of testing again!

Yes, Jolls and I will be eyeing each other up across a crowded waiting room at some stage I think! I'm seeing E next thursday now Jolls, you're not in then are you?

OP posts:
hippychick66 · 01/11/2010 14:49

yes it does sound promising diege - good luck with the last test. How long ago did you buy 25, by the way???? Grin

randomimposter · 01/11/2010 16:24

FX for Diege

BB hadn't planned to go back to her just yet. Maybe because she told me to take another 3 month break, and I have started TTC again this month (though I suspect not very successfully as I wasn't paying attention/counting days properly - like durr!).... and I figure if I wait til I get a BFP and go back to her, she can't shout at me for not waiting IYSWIM GrinBlushHmm. What did you think of big clinic boss?

Hi to everyone else.

Had odd daydream in park earlier; the only way I'm now going to have the 3 children I'd ideally wanted is to have twins... there was a woman there with twins obviously having a really tough time and talking to her friend about it all (wasn't eavesdropping on purpose, she was just fairly open) and I suddenly drifted off and wondered how you would cope with twins and an older, and coming up with all sorts of coping strategies.... Shock.... well that's ten minutes of my life fairly pointlessly spent I won't get back GrinWinkHmm...

Beattiebow · 01/11/2010 17:07

I'm allowed to ttc now Jolls so I can look E in the eye! My tongue and my pulse are good now so I fully expect a bfp this month!

big clinic boss is quite scary I think, although I think she was trying to be friendly by talking quietly. It was a bit more menacing I think. Anyway upshot is she is baffled (I'm not sure how much it cost me to find that out) and am going to have follicle tracking. I am doing the right thing taking progesterone. Thick carpets too.

diege any news???

OP posts:
Diege · 01/11/2010 17:29

Thick carpets are always a good sign BB Grin
Jollster I often let my mind wonder like that, and get into some quite heated discussions with myself Blush before calming down and remembering it's all made up. Having said that, one thing about getting older is the increased chance of twins Grin.
Hi Hippy! Confessions...I bought the 25 tests 2 months ago Blush and only used three last month. As the americans say, go figure Grin. I have just the one left now, so will either hold out till first morning wee thurs morning, or impulsively squeeze a drop out at some point tomorrow. I'm not sure what my gut feeling is - very confused by earlier spotting/lots of bfns, but would really rather a temp drop/af than get a bfn and then just have to sit it out. Oh and 14 dpo today, so a spiffing LP if not duffed!!! Grin

gumblossom · 01/11/2010 23:08

Diege, that does sound rather promising! What's your normal LP length? I'll be crossing everything. Surely at 14 dpo you'd get a bfp?

Well, all is going well in Gum household, but still no positive opk. Will test again later.

Beattie, nice to hear you've a good thick carpet - less chance of carpet burn on the kneesGrin

40Somemum, how are you? Hope things are becoming clearer for you.

Italian, how's things???

Jolly, you naughty girl!I know I wouldn't be able to wait three months. It would be an eternity at our age...

Hippy, when will you get the vest and shorts out? I had the vest (called a "singlet" in Oz) on last night.Think it did the trickWink.

Looking forward to news, Deige...You know what Toni W says: 19 days ofa high temps = pregnancy! You aren't far off.Smile

Italiangreyhound · 01/11/2010 23:33

Gum Thanks for asking, I am fine. Drinking plenty of herbal teas from Pukka, they have names like purity, detox and love, (detox is my fav).

There is a fanatic old comedy on at about 4.00 a.m. tonight/tomorrow MORNING on Channel 4; it is called Kind Hearts and Coronets. I can recommend it.

Had dietician appointment today. She said I needed to help myself in round about terms and then said something like, ?You owe it to your baby.? So weird to think of an actual baby! Of course there is not, still just an idea in my head! DH and I talked pets. He is adamant he does not want one yet! Except a hamster. So need to convince DD she wants a hamster!

Sorry not to name check, a bit tired.

Love to all.

Italiangreyhound · 01/11/2010 23:34

Sorry that should be fantastic and not fanatic!!!!!!!!!!

Diege · 02/11/2010 10:05

Morning Smile Another slight temp rise this morning, and actually 16dpo according to ff so I am getting slightly hopeful. Having said that, I was convinced I was pregnant in August when on hols, and got to 18dpo before period started, so trying my best to put all thought of testing out of my mind. I suppose I'm thinking that it might be a chemical preg/very faint line if it's a line at all, as I would surely have got a very faint line with the supersensitive test I used last Thurs if it was a 'succesful' pregnancy? (10iu)at 11dpo Confused
Gum ahh the singlet...I think of singlets as quite loose fitting vests that you need to wear something else under - is this your trick? Grin. I keep on getting an image oif Jason Donavan circa 1985 in one with cut offs and big hair Grin
Italian I am in admiration of your healthy tea drinking. I can just about tolerate peppermint, but do struggle with the herbals. How is the rosemary conelly going?40some hoping things are ok x

Oh and mant to say, did anyone watch the Psychoville halloween special? I love that show and thought it was excellent Grin

randomimposter · 02/11/2010 14:54

diege am quietly woo-wooing on your behalf...

IGH LOVE the pukka tisanes; some of their blends are really good. The last work project I did was a tea/coffee business and we developed a brilliant range of tea and tisane blends - oooo I miss them :(

BB had an expensive 10 mins at the Ag0ra today - £600+ for some bloods... eeek. I think I assumed the "all inclusive" RecMC price would include what I was having; obviously not as I suspect next week's Day 2 tests/scan will be another £300+, and that's before DP chromosome test, and the follow up consult... eek. Beans on toast til Christmas... What's follicle tracking? That doesn't sound cheap... HmmWink.

gum get you and your singlet!! Wink

40some how are you? Let us know you're ok.

Hi everyone - should be dysoning... must dash.

hippychick66 · 02/11/2010 19:53

jolls you made me laugh when you said you'd started TTCing this month but hadn't paid attention - i had an image of your DH doing the do and you saying, "Oh have we started!" Grin

Italian Thank you for the recommendation of the film. I vaguelly remember it from my youth and think it is black and white. Alas I was busy at 4am doing this - ZZZZzzzzzzzz Grin

diege I have my fingers tightly crossed for you matey - but of course will be soooo Envy when you come on and tell us you are up the duff. If you are - I will try hard to only be 4 weeks behind you (I think I said that to Alba as well Blush). Let us know any news please.

gum Yes I remember they were called singlets (I had a year off to go backpacking in Oz about a million years ago). Glad it did the trick. Men are very easily manipulated by a bit of vest arn't they?

I had my hair cut today. I said for her to go a bit mad and get rid of all my long scraggly hair which doesn't match my age. DH says it is far to sensible and middle-aged and is missing his hippychick. However, I can still just about put it up and he likes it like that so i should be able to get him to shag me when necessary.

CD 6 for me. (Hippy wanders off to find her vest top.......)

Beattiebow · 02/11/2010 20:22

Hippy I made the mistake of looking at the grads thread this week - alot of the people due now-ish were on the mc thread with me. Made me feel very Sad

Anyway I'm on CD7 and still weeks to go until I get to ov time. I asked E to speed up ov this month, but am too tired so can wait a bit).

Dr C (the gynae) doesn't rate temping at all. she says OPKs/CBFM is much better. I am trying to wean myself off temping as I don't think it works for me, and i get obsessed about waking up at the right time (sometimes waking up early and sleeping really badly). Jolls I think follicle tracking is where they look at your ovaries at regular times throughout the cycle to see what is happening, they also look at womb lining (which is one of my issues). I am also having a couple of blood tests (ker-ching!) which check for blood clotting issues as I had a DVT in my first pregnancy. The concern I have with follicle tracking, is that it will only show what is happening this month I suppose. there is no guarantee that next month/other months will be the same. i think follicle tracking is cheaper than your tests though!

diege everything crossed for you!

40somemum hope you are ok.

spottysox hello to you! Hope your dh is being co-operative this month.

Hello to everyone else!

OP posts:
hippychick66 · 02/11/2010 20:45

bb Darn those preggie ladies Envy

I know what you mean - it's hard not to look isn't it. One day it will be you and me on there babe. Grin

I guess it's true that follicle tracking only gives you this months story but it might be indicative of other months (ohhh good word hippy)

A bit like sending a test parcel via DHL and seeing how easily it gets there - would the next parcel get lost or damaged etc???

When we saw that crappy consultant at Bupa i asked him if I ovulated last month does it mean I would ovulate every month - he replied in a totally stupid dramatic way - by pulling back the curtains and saying, "It is raining today, Mrs Hippy. Does that mean it will be raining tomorrow?" TWAT Angry

diege Please test tomorrow - we need good news (sorry I know how awful it is when everyone is pressuring you and their hopes are riding on you) but just feckin' do it!

Diege · 02/11/2010 21:33

I will try my best to squeeze out a line of some description for you all Confused though I'm waiting til Thursday (have a day full of teaching tomorrow and couldn't take the disappointment at 6am when I will have to leave for the train..). Will def test Thursday am though as working from home and will also be (touch wood) 18dpo by then.
Boobs do feel very sore, though metallic taste has gone. I will never speak to my body again if it has succeeded in conning me yet again Hmm
BB I totally agree with what you say about temping. Not only have I been having very disturbed nights, worried about waking up and taking temp, last night I had 3 dreams in which I took my temp, all bad news..now that can't be good can it?
Hippy we need more hair details...have you gone for a 'pop' style a la posh spice, or something longer? Sounds good to have a change at any rate...not long till singlet time for you! And yes you'd better catch up lady if I am duffed! You have 4 weeks!
Jollster wow that's an expensive day Shock. I think we're all in the wrong jobs - think what we could make out of all our collective knowledge/experiences. I think we should open a clinic with nice thick carpets in the snug Grin
Right, off to bed ready for early start (urghh). Love to all x

hippychick66 · 02/11/2010 22:24

Ok diege you can wait til thursday. I really hope your body hasn't conned you this time, sweetie Grin. I am catching up as we speak...... we'll not really but I'm thinking about doing it soon.

We are talking long bob with layers. My hair grows very faast so I'll be witchy poo again soon.

hippychick66 · 02/11/2010 22:28

BB I stopped temping when we had the caravan of love week off and haven't returned to it.

I think for now I'll stick to the OPK's which seem to be working for me (in that I'm getting a pos every month on day 11 and day 12).

I also found that I was dreaming about taking my temperature and not sleeping well for fear of forgetting etc. A couple of times one of my DS's would call out in his sleep and I'd be off and up to see what was happening and then i'd think "Damn, forgot to temp and don't have another 3 hours of sleep now!" It is a good way of keeping track but also very time consuming.

gumblossom · 02/11/2010 23:19

Morning ladies. Still haven't got a + opk, still waiting, but trying to SWI. But how on earth can one succeed at SWI with a toddler banging on the door screaming"Mummy, mummy!" over and over...let's just say that he succeeded in having us stop what we were trying to do...Blah!

My Acupuncture lady said she would tweak me, "to open everything up". Let's hope it's all still "open" tonight or tomorrow! The acupuncture is lovely and does help me feel very relaxed, so it's definitely worth it.

Hippy, I want to see your hair-do, any chance of a picture?

I agree with everyone about the temping, but I do find it helps clarify that I have ovulated.Opk's can be a bit hit and miss, I sometimes have a positive very early in the morning, then it's lighter later in the day. Still waiting for it this month.

Deige, so glad AF has stayed away, it is sounding very hopeful...Smile

Italiangreyhound · 03/11/2010 00:22

Diege all the very best for test. Grin

Hippy believe it or not I was not up at 4.00 a.m. we have a recorable DVD! Wink

Diege tea drinking going well, am just having organic rose, sweet vanilla and chamomile yum

Food, well, hubby has left freezer door open so we had to eat the contents of the freezer tonight! I am never eating ice cream again! Luckily, kindly DH cleaned the freezer and we were planning on de-frosting it anyway.

All is fine, I am back on the horse, back on the wagon, whatever! Have discovered yummy naked bars, nakd [eatnakd double yum]
[http://www.naturalbalancefoods.co.uk/ double yum]

All is fine although DD is struggling with reading, we have figured out she is looking at the pictures and remembering the text!

Best wishes to all

hippychick66 · 03/11/2010 11:38

diege was it you who was asking about Psychoville?? I watched it - I love all that stuff too.

I watched The Little House. It made me A) remember how much a newborn baby cries in the night and B) very glad that I have my lovely MIL and not the bitch on the programme. Anyone else watching it.

Whilst I'm on about TV - did anyone watch Single Father with David tennant???

I'm going back to work soon !!!!!

Back at the place that let everyone go in July (all our jobs went up north). They kept a few people on in my town and now we are getting into peak time again they are taking on a few temps and thanks to a timely mention on FB and a phone call - I am one of the temps. I got my old hours 9.30 -2.30 Mon-Fri. It will just be until January, but we'll be off to IOW by then.......... - WONT WE DH Angry HmmConfusedGrin

Diege · 03/11/2010 18:52

Ok guys I buckled and bought one of those digital tests from Boots (not the devil stick conception indicators, just the Boots-own pregnant/not pregnant)as I am too weak of heart to enter the 'is my line getting darker' debate over the next few days...
And the upshot is 'I is pregnant'!!!! Shock Grin. I had another high temp today, and v.sore boobs, plus a little quesiness which I can probably put down to anxiety and just felt I couldn't hold on till tomorrow - hope you'll let me off WinkSo, very early days and trying to be realistic, but pretty chuffed. Dh on the other hand is veering from being pleased to madly panicking about money...
Anyway, thought I would let you all know as soon as I found out (about 30 mins ago Grin). Now you all need to get duffed asap to keep me company!

randomimposter · 03/11/2010 20:32

wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
hooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo ................. terrific news diege. Delighted for you. Have all crossed your next 8 months are DULL, DULL, DULL!

Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin
Diege · 03/11/2010 20:59

Thanks Jolls! Those Grins must have taken you ages Grin
I am already worrying about why a bfp took so long, which I know if ridiculous as temps very high still and a few 'symptoms' too now. I'm thinking that bleed I had 3dpo may well have been linked to ovulation rather than implantation, which would also fit with my chart. I am overthinking this I know!
Hippy, yes I am the Psychoville-r Grin. I heart Mr. Jelly Blush. I also LOVE the Peep Show, my absolute fave programme that makes me howl with laughter. Any other fans of that?
Well dh has come back with flowers, chocs and champagne so all good Grin
