Just popping in to say hello! Work is suffocating me, but I have been reading, just not having the time to post! Roll on 'working from home' Thursday!
Love to all xxx

Beattiebow · 05/10/2010 21:37

oh do they hippy - I have no idea what the tests do! don't they tell you if you are coming up to menopause? well I haven't phoned for the results anyway!

anyway SMEp has started in the BB household. Talk about spontaneity.

thefatladyscreams · 05/10/2010 23:56

Hi guys - sorry to not post for so long (very guilty face!) but the good news is our little boy was born last Thursday. Keep meaning to post every day but don't understand where the time is going (ha ha).

All went well. I had a relatively quick labour (10 hours) which I though was an eternity but was apparently good for a first labour and our little one arrived 31 minutes after we checked in at the hospital. I had been trying to stay at home for as long as possible - found out I was fully dilated when we arrived at hospital (so no gas and air allowed which I'd been holding out for!). Was so glad we didn't leave it any longer or it could have been a very interesting car journey...

Came home the same evening. Only problem is feeding (expressing is working fine but having problems getting him to latch). Will catch up properly soon and get all your news.

randomimposter · 06/10/2010 05:22

yay TFLS have posted on the grads thread, but what a clever girl you are! Big squeeze for you and your family x

Up ridiculously early as after foiling a break-in in the early hours next door here at the rented house last week, there was a fire next door to our renovation project at 3am this morning. Thankfully DP was staying there and called the firebrigade etc. So of course he had to call me and see "if I was awake" so he could come back for a cuppa...Hmm

Hope all well elsewhere in the world.

hippychick66 · 06/10/2010 09:24

beattie Don't take my word for it - I could be wrong Blush. Call them and get your results - you might as well know how the tests went. Let me know lovie. Good luck with SME!!!

TFLS Wow, you stayed at home until fully dilated, you're a star. So glad you've got your lad - YOU'RE A MUMMY Grin I'll look on the grads list for his name.

jolls you have such a boring life Wink. xxx

MY DH REALLY pissed me off this morning - thank God I'm on my period - i could not be nice to him right now Angry.

muchlove · 06/10/2010 12:53

HELLLLOOOO ALL !!!
Yes I'm back home (to drudgery of ironing, washing blah bla...)had a nice relax and feel tons better for it. Infact I'm so switched-off I don't know if I've ovulated yet or it's been and gone Shock this months a real mystery, and you know what it's FANTASTIC when you step off the ride for a bit. No SWI or SMEP or bloody testing GREAT !!!
I've tried my best to catch-up with all of your news - so sorry to hear about the whole SASSY siuation - it all seems really weird (what the bloody hell is a troll I thought they lived under the bridge in 'billy goats gruff') I guess I can stil keep in touch through her blog.
HIPPY Hey sweety sorry the 'caravan of love' didn't pay off and that he's pissed you off today ..... I think that's why I had to get away as I thought I was going to kill my hubby - instead I hit him round the head with my bag Confused and (i feel bad about that now) but it was getting to stressful here ...
So am I reading right that there are no BFP's round these parts ???
There is no test blood/scan or otherwise that can tell you if your eggs are of good quality - nothing I'm afraid.
The only time they are checked for viability is when you have IVF and then imagine how stressful that could be if you had some good ones put back and they did'nt take Shock you would defo have to have nerves of steel.

No unfortunately at 42+ the best chance you've got realistically is the natural route
(please let me know if I'm wrong).....

DIEGE I take the Marilyn Glenville VITS they bloody expensive though aren't they !

JOLLS Hope you have a good apptmnt at 'high noon'

BB If your waiting on the 3day blood results they usually say under 10 is good for our age but really that is only for the purpose of being artificially stimulated ie IVF or IUI as to whether you would be a good candidate for that (I know your'e not doin that just now) so the results are not really much use as I have read of women getting PG with much higher (over 15) numbers and women with low FSH never getting PG.
When I had my 3day bloods done my result was 8.9

ITALIAN you mean your'e not a tall skinny mysterious italian women who lives a jetset lifestyle Shock oh I'm so naive Grin

GG How are you lovey still baking away for the good of the group ....

Hope you are enjoying your hols GUM

Big congrats TFLS well done you !!!

Muchlove to all x

hippychick66 · 06/10/2010 18:01

muchlove Hi there, mrs.

You had a lot of catching up to do didn't you?

I know what you mean about the FSH levels. I'm sure liaghen said hers came back as 23 or something and she was very worried but she's now preggers - so FSH isn't necessarily a good indicator.

I did laugh at you hitting your hubbie with your handbag - i know it's not politically correct and if he had hit you we'd all be Shock Shock - but I did have a giggle - sorry muchlove's hubbie. They do make us mad sometimes don't they. Me and DH made up at lunchtime (he came home for lunch) but we didn't make up in a sexy way IYSWIM. None of that nonesense on day 3!!! Grin

jolls hope the appointment went well today.

gum is gonna have sooo much catching up to do!

rowingboat · 06/10/2010 18:16

Hi all,

Jolly big waves to you love! What are you having done on the NHS?
I'm hopelessly out of touch, but did you have a referral for miscarriage?

Hippy (sorry nearly called you Hoppy there Shock) yes embryo adoption is all the rage. They are ever so tiny and you need a microscopic pram and they sleep all night (and day).

TFLS congratulations you clever, clever girl and a little, soft hug to your teeny little chap.
We had some problems with latching too, but I did a bit of mixed feeding (nurses started it without asking!!) a bit of expressing and a bit of latching practice, until he got the hang. After about 12 weeks of that he was fully bf'd.

I had a referral to my local reproductive unit and hopefully will have immune tests done, just to be on the paranoid side. Oo and I'm going in about my ear'ole next week. Can't wait!!!!
Hope to go over towards the end of November when all the tests and ear stuff is sorted out.

hippychick66 · 06/10/2010 18:42

rowing I want one of those little teeny tiny ones!!! ahhh they sound so cute Grin

randomimposter · 06/10/2010 22:38
Italiangreyhound · 07/10/2010 00:00

thefatladyscreams CONGRATULATIONS Grin wow that is so great. I am so pleased for you.

Latching on can be a real pain. Can I give some advice; ignore me (really) if it is not helpful.

Getting in a really comfortable chair in a comfortable position really help, I am sure you were told all that at the hospital but it can be hard if you start in hospital wit the chairs there and then move home and are on a sofa! I, personally, found breast feeding lying down on the bed was good. Just be careful not to lie on the sofa with a baby as it is dangerous (as I am sure you have been told) and also with regard to sleeping in the bed with your baby there are all kinds of things to be careful of and avoid and many people don't agree with sleeping in the bed with the baby! Anyway, I am wittering! What happened with me and my DD is that I struggled at first in hospital with all the advice and help but once at home it just kind of clicked. I really hope it will for you because once you get it sorted it is much, much easier than bottles (I used to be a mother's help for a lady with twins so I have done my fair share of bottle making up!). But, whatever happens, you've got your little one, how fab.

PS
Also, I don't know where you are in the world but if you are in the UK there may be an NCT group that you can get help from (each group usually has a breast feeding counsellor). The NCT is at www.nct.org.uk

Breastfeeding Line - 0300 330 0771

8am?10pm, seven days a week.

They say - "Call our Breastfeeding Line to talk to a qualified breastfeeding counsellor for information and support to help you breastfeed successfully.

We can also help if you are using formula or want to switch from formula to breastfeeding or breastfeeding to formula. If you have questions about starting your baby on solids or on stopping breastfeeding when the time comes we can help."

All the best,
Italian

gumblossom · 07/10/2010 08:49

Hello ladies! I'm back. I've just skim read all the pages. Blimey, it is hard to keep up.

Can't believe that Sassy is a troll.Just won't believe it!Haven't had time to read the threads related to it, but I just don't want to believe it.Her bereavement seemed very very real to me.

I'm really sorry to see there are no bfp's! Bugger.

And it is lovely to hear good news.Well Done TFLS on your little boy. I want to ask what you named him, but realise you may not want to say such personal details on the net.

Rowing!!!So lovely to hear from you! Can't wait til you have that little embie snuggled up in your womb!

As for me, I had a very very relaxed holiday and didn't want to come back to reality!

I am happy to say I did even better than the SMEP...had swi every day! Unbelievable...and all during O time. So I'm pretty pleased with that. Who knows if it will result in a healthy embie.Time will tell.

Now I have to run off and organise the unpacking, shopping for food and cook some dinner.

My poor Dh slipped on some stairs yesterday and really hurt his big toe - it may be broken. It looks terrible and he's hobbling - so don't know if I'll complete the SMEP with SWI today (day after O). I actually don't see the point as I've had a temp rise and my cervix has shut up shop!

Gotto run...big kisses for everyone "Mwah!"

Diege · 07/10/2010 09:58

Hello! I'm also struggling to keep up and I've only been awol 3 days. Hopefully I can ride on the crest of Gum's wave and pick up what I've missed.
Congrats TFLS - we have a snug baby Grin
muchlove I'll admit I am wavering on whether to buy any more MG supplements as they are soooo expensive. Maybe when my chld benefit gets paid this month (sort of appropriate?) Grin
Hippy I think I've summised that af did indeed arrive for you after the spotting? Buggeration if so, esp after all that shagging Sad. I have to say I never felt my boobs were in danger of absconding this month though.
Gum be grateful that the toe episode has happened now after ov. I think we can issue a snug 'waiver' in this case?
Cd 6 here, so must get some opks ordered. Am sticking to everyother day this month - MEP too unrealistic for dh us. Will also brave the temping too for whole cycle I think.
Hello to everyone else - sorry not to name check more extensively, my brain is half-asleep still!

hippychick66 · 07/10/2010 10:08

Firstly, gum you bloody sex siren Grin You did even better than me! Envy (Hippy stomps off annoyed that she is no longer the sexiest bird on here!)

Then stomps back.....

Yes, gum the whole sassy thing has left us all a bit Confused. I do find myself wondering what she's up to and if she's doing the SME etc. i so want the whole story to be true, not that I want her daughter to die but you know what I mean!!!

italian Please stop talking about breast feeding. Everytime I think about it I get the let down reflex Blush Grin Seriously though, good luck with it all TFLS. I'm guessing you're at that point now where you just keep staring at this little person and thinking, "Wow, never thought I could love anyone or anything this much. Ahhhh - enjoy it all, before you know it he'll be answering you back!

jolly you are a sweetheart. Thanks for the hug - here is a sneaky one back ((()))

rowing Keep us up to date please. I love having you back here. You don't have to be actually TTC, italian pops in all the time even though we know her true home is the assisted conception thread. At the end of the day we're all over 40 and wanting a little-un Grin

Funny-ish story.

What you need to know before reading is that a couple of years ago at a school disco I got chatting to the only male teacher at the school and this inspired a story line in my novel about a woman having an affair with a teacher. I DID NOT HAVE AN AFFAIR WITH HIM THOUGH.

Anyway, we saw the teacher walking his dog the other day and I said, "Ah there's Mr Blah walking his dog." Hubbies says, "Is that the one you had an affair with?" DS1 says, "I didn't know he had a dog!"

DH and I both laughed and said, "So the bit you're struggling with is the dog not the affair??"

It probably loses something in the writing but it was very funny.

Some little shit (actually a big one) grabbed my DS1 around the neck on Wednesday and held him down and then punched another kid so hard in the temple that they had to call the paramedics. We are going to see the head teacher tomorrow to talk about it. I am bloody mad at that kid Angry. My DS and the other lad are fine though so don't worry. TFLS this will be your life in 10 years time!

hippychick66 · 07/10/2010 10:15

diege Hi sorry crossed posts.

So sorry I didn't name check you Blush.

What is the MEP plan?? Or did you mean SME ??

Yes you are right the caravan of love did not work Sad.

Still onward and upward. I'm on day 4 (so you and I will be cycle buddies) Yay Grin

Fancy a shag-fest on day 13ish (OPK's depending)?????

Anyone need their pipes fixed - it's a bit quiet today!

Diege · 07/10/2010 10:37

Ah I'll let you off Hippy Wink. Yep, up for a shag-fest - your place or mine? Grin
Re: your ds, I too would be furious about the other boy. Something similar happened to my dd1 years ago with 2 older girls on her first week in school, and I still glare at them now when I see them 5 years later.
And what't this about a novel then?? Have you written one?

Diege · 07/10/2010 10:38

And yes, meant SME! Blush. You see it is such a foreign concept to me I can't even reference it correctly!

hippychick66 · 07/10/2010 10:44

A couple of years ago I started creative writing classes and wrote a short piece that people liked. So i adapted it and began writing a novel. Then life just took over and my poor characters are frozen in time awaiting my instructions.

Perhaps if I spent less time on here faffing about on MN, FB and email I would get it finished. But I do love a nice natter!!

LOL at the your place or mine! Maybe best if you do your place and I do mine - but I'm easy Grin.

I must watch the apprentice now (whilst doing loads of house work at the same time)Wink

Curlylox · 07/10/2010 12:01

Waves to all, i trust you are all well? Just lurking, nothing interesting to add......big sighs and twiddling my thumbs. Oh do have sore nipples (like I've been on a run with no bra, erm not that I have ever done that mind), did a test even though I knew it would be negative and it was.

hippychick66 · 07/10/2010 12:35

Hi curly. Sorry your AF is still missing in action. Yours and italian's and djinnie's must all be lurking somewhere.

Not sure what to make of your sore nips my dear.

Curlylox · 07/10/2010 13:00

Oooh Hippy talk to me please. Have a shed load of ironing to do but really can't be arsed, what are you up to?

Curlylox · 07/10/2010 13:07

Just scrolled back and can see you're doing housework and watching The Apprentice, so I'll let you get on....enjoy Smile

Curlylox · 07/10/2010 13:10

I have a question, is it ok or not to have flu vaccine whilst ttc please?

Diege · 07/10/2010 14:03

Hi Curly Smile. I would think that as you can have the 'flu vaccine when you're pregnant (have I got that right?) that when ttc would be fine. The only one they're funny about when ttc if I remember correctly is the MMR. Maybe the NHS Direct website could tell you? So what cd is it you tested? Sore nips are usually the only (v.early) symtom I do get when pregnant!

Curlylox · 07/10/2010 14:17

Hi Diege thanks for that will have a look at NHS website. Also I think there are a few ZW fans on here and wondered what their take on the flu vaccine is when ttc. I'm on CD52 Shock! When I was last preggars it's more my boobs feeling heavy/sore not so much my nips iyswim, so am hoping this is a sign that my AF is imminent (fingers crossed, Always pads at the ready Grin) How's you?
