Kaloki blimey, size 2! I hope this doesn't come out the wrong way, but do you have to buy children's size shoes? I'm a 6, but as my nickname suggests I'm not one tiny little bit girly, so I usually get boys' shoes. My feet are also very wide, so on the rare occasions I do buy ladies' shoes they're often a tad uncomfortable.

This is turning into a mememe post, sorry. But I've started, so I shall finish...

My boobs continue to be asymmetrically sore, and sore in a rather strange way. It's only really the upper outside bits, which is why I still suspect swollen glands.

I also had the tiniest bit of spotting today. Could be AF arriving a few days early, but it's not the way I usually come on, so we shall see I guess.

MrsWajs · 08/08/2010 17:39

Oh I also forgot to mention I had a teeny tiny bit of spotting yesterday also - like 2 spots - literally!!

Implantation maybe??? Pffft [clutching at straws emoticon]

OP posts:
gardenpixie · 08/08/2010 17:50

MrsW and Tomboy that spotting sounds pretty promising I reckon ... Smile

kkas · 08/08/2010 19:18

saoralba congrats! so excited for you Grin

kaloki your rats are so cute! makes me want to get some too, although i suppose my cats wouldn't be too impressed...

mrswajs sorry about the BFN but you are keeping us on the edge of our seats especially with reports of spotting. don't know where you get the will power to wait 2 weeks to test again!

highheels i usually get a temp dip before ov so get SWI now girl!

no real news from me. coming to end of TWW but absolutely no chance of being pg unless it's an immaculate conception as we didn't get the timing right this month. just wanting FERTD to come asap to start on the next cycle....

also, i used my GP's online appointment request thingy to make an appointment, which i thought would be in about 2 weeks, after we get back from hols. i thought that would be plenty of time to psyche myself up for the appt and prepare a list of questions. anyway, they have given me an appt for tomorrow night! that is much sooner than i expected and now i'm not sure if i'm ready to go! anyone have any tips on what i should expect for a first appt with a GP. i am pretty sure i am ov, b/c i temp and last month i did ov sticks, but really just want to know whether everything is working like it seems to be. any suggestions?

gardenpixie · 08/08/2010 20:03

Hi kkas I think the first round of tests are blood tests for you on CD 2or 3 and then again on CD 21 (or a week after you've ov'd). They test the FSH / LH ratio, and levels of progesterone and oestrogen. From what I can gather, GPs pay little heed to DIY fertility monitoring and will start on the basic tests regardless of whether you have been taking temps etc Hmm

They might also want to do your chap's swimmer count at the same time.

The next lot of tests is checking tubes which you can do through an HSG or a hycosy. I opted for a hycosy because it's less painful and you can still SWI on the cycle you have it whereas, because an HSG involves an x-ray, they advise you not to try to use any eggs that have been blasted (or at least that's what my Dr advised me)

That's just my experience so not sure how typical it was.

Sure it will all be fine! Smile

Toriajayne · 08/08/2010 23:25

Hi, I'm entirely new, was recommended mumsnet by a friend of mine. I've been married nearly four years now and we've just decided to start TTC (like literally this afternoon, after many months of dithering). My mum's a midwife and I've been somewhat obsessed for the last year or so, so know my body fairly well already, and by my calculations I'll be ovulating this weekend. I'm at the stage where there are pregnant women everywhere I look, and everytime someone has announced a pregnancy recently I've burst into tears, so hopefully will find some people here who wont judge me for that!

CaveMum · 09/08/2010 06:57

Morning all, ugh pre-7am on a Monday morning is never a fun time!

Welcome Toriajayne, we're a very non-judgy bunch. I can be almost certain that however you feel on any given day someone else on here will have felt the same and will be able to give you advice and support.

If you post your stats (cycle number, usual cycle length and current cycle day) someone will add you to the list.

[waves] to everyone else!

Toriajayne · 09/08/2010 07:29

Thank you! :)

Ok, Cycle 1, UCL30, CD9.

Hermya321 · 09/08/2010 07:40

Welcome to the thread Toriajayne, this is a lovely thread!!

Karstan · 09/08/2010 08:54

Welcome toriajane

A new week but still on the 2ww, want it to be over but at the same time I hate the fact I seem to be wishing my life away, always wanting it to hurry up and be next week already.

Also had a little bit of a wobble at the weekend. Went over to Wales on a spur of the moment thing to meet up with some friends and go camping and bbq and walking and realised that you can only do that sort of thing last minute pre-kids. I'm not sure I'm ready to give up that freedom yet Sad

Very up and down at the moment.

Hope everyone else is feeling more positive, please send some of that vibe my way.

crazybutterflylady · 09/08/2010 08:58

Morning everyone, and welcome Toriajayne

Good luck with your tests this evening kkas - hopefully you will have a lovely considerate doctor :)

MrsW any other symptoms for you yet? So excited for you to get that BFP... must be around the corner.

Hi garden hope you have been dutifully getting your leg over this weekend Grin

cavey how did the viewing go???

tomboy I have read a lot of people online saying the outsides of their lady bumps hurt during the first few weeks of PG... i think it sounds promising!

Hi everyone else happy monday x

Florin · 09/08/2010 09:14

Morning everybody!
Welcome to toriajayne I am sure you will soon settle in here we are a friendly bunch

We sold my very dead car to webiyanycar.com and got quite a lot or money for it considering it is really a write off! Went car shopping which was really lovely as dh spent ages talking about how we needed this car for having a family and looking at the boot and asking me about pram sizes he even off his own back had a really good look at all the baby car seats in mercedes. He normally gets nervous about talking about it so it's been really nice to start chatting about it more!
I am so bored off my 2ww already really want to test but got ages.
Any bfp's for anyone else over the weekend?

crazybutterflylady · 09/08/2010 09:22

Karstan we x-posted..
Sorry to hear you're feeling a bit rubbish. I know what you mean about wishing your life away... I do wonder whether men would respond the same way if it was them that carried the baby...? I think us women think about things too much (I know I do anyway!!).

And as for the camping/spontaneity thing, I think you will still have an element of that in your life, it just shows itself in different forms. Perhaps in the meantime you could put both your concerns together and instead of wishing your weeks away, spend each "waiting" week doing something spontaneous and fun, even if it's just going to the cinema?

Hope you're feeling more chirpy soon, hug hug xx

kkas · 09/08/2010 09:24

gardenpixie thanks for the tips. that is very helpful. i suspect that CD2 will be later this week for me and we're leaving for our hols in wales on thursday, so the tests might have to wait til next cycle. but i guess it's good to get the ball rolling now anyway.

crazybutterfly i hope she's nice too... on the surgery's website it says she used to be a specialist in pediatrics/neonatology before becoming a GP so hopefully she will understand the desperation of wanting to become a mum! i'll let you know how i get on later...

cookiemoo sorry to hear about FERTD Sad

karstan don't worry about having wobbles now and again. and i think that you can still have spur of the moment trips when you're a mum - just might take a bit of ingenuity and patience!

welcome toriajayne :)

gardenpixie · 09/08/2010 09:43

Hello all and happy monday morning all round Smile

Welcome toriajayne! Lovely to have you on board and I hope this thread brings you lots of luck.

kkas good luck with the appt. On the blood tests, you don't need to do the day 2 or 3 and day 21 tests in order so you could always have your day 21 test when you are back? Sounds like your Dr has tons of the right experience so I'm sure you'll get lots of support

karstan sorry to hear about your wobble. I think kkas is right - my SIL is always up and wandering off with her two little boys. She is just VERY organised. She has a little bag that she always keeps stocked up with enough toys and other kiddy paraphanalia to last a couple of days so if she fancies upping and heading out for a long weekend, she just needs to get her bits and pieces together and bundles the boys into the car.

Tomboy how are the Biscuit Biscuits doing this morning? Hope they are getting ready to go into the milking business ...!

Cavey what an ungodly hour to be up! Have you had plenty of coffee?

Highheels I hope you have been having lots of well timed fun Wink

Big waves to everyone else - I'm off to distract myself from the 2WW do some work.

Smile xx

highheelsandequations · 09/08/2010 10:25

Morning all :)

Welcome toriajayne

kkas good luck for the appointment. My advice would be to write down everything you want to mention before you go, I know I have left a few appointments thinking "oh I should have mentioned ...". But that could just be because I have no memory!

karstan I think we all have wobbles some times, it's only natural. Personally I am terrified by the thought of being pregnant and giving birth although at the same time I desperately want it to happen. I also wonder if I'll miss going out places when I want or weekends away, but as crazy and kkas have said I don't think the spontaneity needs to be lost, just has to take on a slightly different form.

tomboy I think it's definitely sounding promising for you.

florin really glad your DH has been more talkative. It's lovely when they show that they're involved too and want it to happen. My DP was always really unwilling to talk about anything baby related and so I have been nervous of mentioning it, but he seems to be getting more willing to talk, which is such a relief.

garden I jumped on DP when he got back, even though he was exhausted and claimed to be aching all over. Poor thing, I almost felt sorry for him! Wink Unfortunately temperatures are still low, so not sure what's going on. Have read about the temperature dip but seems to be just one day before the rise, mine have been low for 3 days now. What's going on???

So still waiting for my temperature to rise to show I have ovulated, in the meantime I am making chicken soup, which smells very yummy. This is my last week of freedom before back to work, really not looking forward to it :( Must check the dates for half term so I can start the countdown ...

TigerseyeMum · 09/08/2010 10:29

My stats by the way are:

Cycle 1, UCL 30 days (approx), current day 20.

Still lots of internal pain :( It's getting old now.

Lovely sunny day here at Tigerseye Towers. A study day so I am loafing about studying hard.

Saw my friend's newborn yesterday. He is gorgeous and I managed not to burst into tears.

womanlytales · 09/08/2010 10:40

Happy Monday everyone,
It looks like a peak week for us frolickers with four or five of us at the very end of their 2ww..Am excited for some bfps this week and weekend.

MrsWajs · 09/08/2010 10:58

Morning guys,

Welcome to ToriaJayne :)

Well I am feeling horrendous :( Came home from work feeling a bit queasy last night. Turns out I must have a bug or something been up ALL night being sick and running to the toilet and poor DP came home from his friends to help me out and was promptly sick as well, so we have been sharing the bathroom and basically not sleeping all night!!

Feels like I've been out drinking all weekend, I'm so dehydrated!

Sorry bit of a mememe post (once again) still no FERTD this morning, wondering now if it's been delayed cus I've been brewing a bug or something??

OP posts:
gardenpixie · 09/08/2010 11:03

Oh MrsW that sounds horrid for you. I am not sure a bug would delay FERTD though? Especially if you get in the luteal phase. Fingers still crossed! Hope are taking it easy and looking after yourself Smile

Tiger I couldn't possibly have seen you as you are, as you say, studying; and I am hard at work at my desk writing a presentation... Hmm!
