Hey everyone, hope you are all well,

I may not post that much but I do keep reading every day as I feel reassured by all your positive posts. Sorry to peeps that are having a hard time at the moment, just remember that you are great and I am sure that we will all be blessed with a little one in time :0)

On a personal note I am on cycle 2 now and getting kinda impatient but am reading up on all the things that will improve my TTC chances. Everyone I know is preggers/has new born etc and is slightly getting me down now as I am so ready for a little one. It seems that people who can't afford, are not fit for, only having them for the dole money are reeling them out and its so fustrating as me and DH are working hard and are now ready for a little one :( Sorry rant over xx

Bellaby · 23/08/2010 19:20

Evening Ladies

Hope you are all well and had fantastic weekends. I'm pleased to have finally finished my very busy week and am already looking forward to next weekend and 3 days of doing absolutely nothing!

I did however succeed in my challenge to try my first Pornstar cocktail - and I can see what all the fuss was about!

Only have to go out for client drinks twice this week so it's not so bad - DH has given me strict instructions not to drink just in case (maybe I'll see if he complies with the SWI before then first!)

Yet again I have missed out on so much chatter - I have been loving all the skincare advice! I've just gone back to using Dermalogica but Flick you reminded me about the Estee Lauder night serum so I might make a quick trip to the shops tomorrow Grin.

Kkas -that is brilliant news on your job - well done!

Sorry to hear about all those people having to deal with rubbish GPs - Zippys, Tante - perhaps we should start a name & shame post

Zippys - your DP does sound lovely. Your post made me feel very emotional. I hope that he does pop the question very soon!

Josie, Florin, highheels and Garden -sorry to hear about ERTD.

Garden - I hope that Clomid works for you and good luck with your marathon SWI.

Aries - lovely to see you popping in. It's not the same without you

Lanky - good luck with the new assignment - hope it doesn't get too stressful. Has your DH had his birthday yet? - I think the presents you got him were great. I also got my DH a toolbox for Christmas and he loves it even though he really isn't any good at DIY. I also got him a Leatherman last year for his birthday which had his name on it - he didn't use if for a year but now he uses it for everything and he even takes it on holiday when we go!

Womanly - your post was all lovely & positive Grin

Cavey - know this is late but I'm so pleased for you now that your DH will be posted over here for 2 years. I know how much that was on your mind and hopefully means you will both be a lot more relaxed about everything. Great too that you are joining the main list Grin.

Hi Felicity - how is the new term going? You should be awarded a gold star for most regular posting Grin

Big Hello to Everyone else I've not mentioned - I need to start doing better at posting from work but my iPhone has been playing up a bit recently.

I do actually have a question to ask someone here if you will excuse me being a little bit TMI - I thought for the last couple of days that I might have EWCM but I'm not sure if it is that or leakage from some Saturday night action - can anyone share their thoughts on this?

Lots of love

Bella
xxx

gardenpixie · 23/08/2010 19:43

Hi Bellaby this might be a bit gruesome so take the next bit with a hefty TMI warning, but in response to your question: my consultant told me the best way to distinguish between EWCM, leakage and Blush being a bit excited is to see if the substance in question dissolves in water. If it doesn't, it is definitely EWCM; the other two options dissolve really quickly. Not tried it myself but will be this cycle!

Hope that helps...

Big Monday waves to everyone xx

Bellaby · 23/08/2010 19:47

Thanks Garden - let me know how you get on with that test!

Ariesgirl · 23/08/2010 19:54

What a typical consultant thing to say! I can just see it now: "Hang on love, while I just have a rummage and pop it in some water."

Hello mumnerves and bellaby and thanks for your messages of support. I 'preciate it.

highheelsandequations · 23/08/2010 21:34

Zippys I second all the other girls, your post brought tears to my eyes. Your DP sounds lovely and I can't imagine what the two of you are going through just now. It sounds like you're making lots of positive moves

Flick hope you enjoyed the bbq and love the Keeeeep shagging! Surely that has to go in the next thread title?

Cave step away from google! Hope you get some answers at your Drs appointment. I know what you mean about feeling you need to be doing something. Sometimes I think the most frustrating thing is that there's so much in this whole business that is just about luck and chance. Impressed with your royal connections :o

Aries hope you're managing to see some light at the end of the tunnel.

Lanky sorry about FERTD, how's the new project going?

Florin glad you're enjoying the holiday and doing some essential pub research :)

Crazy mmmm to fish pie and chocolate. Expanding belly is a definite pregnancy sign, can I claim that even during the FERTD phase? Hope Boris and Florence are both recovered from vets.

Garden glad you've finally got those magic pills :) I didn't feel psychotic but did get terrible headaches, hope you feel fine on them. Enjoy the shagathon, try not to wear out poor Mr garden! Impressed with your cushion covers :)

Tiger glad you had a nice weekend that was not ruined by the cramps, how's your bum? :o

tante I don't have a crystal ball but do still have the tarot pack I bought as a teenager! Your weekend sounds like just what the doctor ordered and I'm impressed with the lack of hangover! Think you should ask your GP for some hot chocolate on prescription, and get him to sign you off work so you can relax properly.

Toria I live and work in Fife, although don't live in the same town that I work in. Don't really want to get too specific on here. Are you anywhere near?

womanly again your post is so thoughtful. I love the toast to new beginnings and the mantra. So sorry about the BFN but fingers crossed ERTD stays away. Hope you got that real life big hug you've been waiting for, have some virtual ones as well.

Hi to mumnerves, don't think we've met yet.

Alien don't apologise for the ranting, it's what we're here for. Hope you're feeling more positive soon.

Bella glad your pornstar mission was successful :o I've also heard what garden said about dissolving in water. Also apparently EWCM will also stretch a few times between fingers whereas leftovers will break (haven't tried it myself though!). The things you learn when ttc Blush

Well no news from me. Have enjoyed a day of cramping and headaches along with an extra class to teach on top of my own. Trying desperately to stay positive and try to do constructive things. Haven't yet managed to phone acupuncturist (top of tomorrow's to do list) but have decided to quit caffeine and rethink some of my diet. Got some vitamin B6 and started taking them this morning. can anyone tell me if I should take them the whole cycle or just till ovulation? I've also decided to cut back a bit on the gym and try to relax a bit about putting on weight. Currently trying to plan my DPs birthday (big 4-0 this year) and only getting slightly annoyed with the fact that he won't tell me what he wants to do and has now told me to stop asking, grrr!

Toriajayne · 23/08/2010 22:15

Highheels that's fair enough, was just being nosy really as between OH, myself and several friends we've taught in a lot of schools in the Lothians, wondered if our paths had crossed before lol. We moved from the West End of Edinburgh up to Inverness not long ago, after living there for seven years, have a few friends up your way, and my best mate must be near you, she's a SALT for that area.

As for DP, how frustrating! Mine does that, Every year I say I'm giving up but keep failing and doing something anyway

TigerseyeMum · 23/08/2010 22:27

highheels by bum is growing by the minute and all for nothing.

We all seem to have had a weekend of cramps, we must be really in sync.

Morning All,

Hope the rain has stopped for y'all. Been reading about all of those scary flood warnings- Hope all is ok for you all.

womanly hope FERTD is still staying away for you today.

alien don't apologise for your rant- like higheels said thats what we are here for. I know I have definitely had days like that too.

higheels Sorry you had to teach an extra class. It sucks when that happens Angry also crap about the headaches but fun about your dh's birthday! Any ideas at all?

Great to see you bella I don't like it when you are so busy Grin New term ok but in my new role I seem to spend most of my time running around after incompetent people and doing things that they should have done themselves. Oh well, I guess thats what my pay rise was for Wink

Hi to everyone else, I am struggling a bit today. I don't feel very well but I keep thinking 'you're making it up' Does that make sense?! I feel really queasy but in my head I think I am making up that I feel sick because I am going to POAS on Friday. I am driving myself a bit crazy with trying not to symptom spot Grin! As well as feeling queasy I am feeling very tearful which is a definite sign of ERTD so I am making myself feel worse by getting annoyed that FERTD is going to come. In addition to feeling sick and tearful I have a face full of spots which is also a sign of impending FERTD so am not feeling too hopeful :( BOOOOOOOOOOO This displeases me Wink

Kaloki · 24/08/2010 04:38

Oops, I left the thread too long! Might take me a while to catch up. Just wanted to come in here and see if there was any wine left? It's 4.30 am and I am sat in the living room with horrific cramps. Doesn't tie in to my cycle, so not sure what it is. Finished the antibiotics, so if it's still that damn inflammation I will not be impressed.

Also, don't know if I told you, but got the MRI results back (sort of). The doctor at the hospital told me a load of medical jargon that meant nothing to me, and then didn't explain it. Apart from something about "early wear and tear" and something "bulging". So I need to go see my GP.

Now I better go find painkillers, though no idea where DP has put them. (He's going to be DH in 17 days! Shock)

felicityFlick · 24/08/2010 04:53

Poor kaloki There is definitely wine left for you :) How crap about the cramps and bloody rubbish about the Dr. too. Yet another story of an incompetent, seemingly un-caring, medical professional- RAHHH makes me so mad Angry

So exciting about your wedding- can't believ it is only 17 days now!! EEEEEKKKKK

Hope the painkillers work xxx

tryingasofthen · 24/08/2010 07:30

hello, am i welcome round these parts? we decided TTC over the weekend, i was really excited we could finally start trying. now im slightly worried by the replies on my over post about how long it could take, you lot seem a fun bunch so do you mind making it seem less daunting pretty please x

tryingasofthen · 24/08/2010 07:30

over?? meant other!! duh

felicityFlick · 24/08/2010 07:43

Of course you're welcome round here! We are mostly fun (thanks for the compliment Wink) but have our crazy moments too :)

We can add you to the list if you like? Just let us know your details - Cycle will be Cycle 1 I guess? UCL is usual cycle length and CD is cycle day so what day of your cycle you are on. If you're not sure of those details we can pop you in another section of of wonderful list though so don't let that put you off.

WAKE UP FROLICKERS I'm bored! Where are you all?!

tryingasofthen · 24/08/2010 07:53

implant out Thursday then i shall tell you, have i jumped in too fast?? i will be trying as of Thursday :)

i cant wait Grin been trying to persuade the OH for nearly a year actually jumped up n down when he said go on then after reading the 'when were you ready' thread, where someone said i wasn't but a positive wouldn't have upset me, he just said that's me, went down posts abit and someone said that's as ready as your ever going to be, he was like ok fine we can go for it :) god soo happy i could burst cant even imagine what id be like with a BFP lol!

erm yep I'll fit in ^ read that and tell me im not crazy Hmm

highheelsandequations · 24/08/2010 07:59

Morning flick! Sorry we're not as chatty first thing, too busy getting to work on time! How're you feeling? Queasy is promising :-) had a weekend away booked for dp then found out his friend's wedding was that saturday grr! Managed to change it but now it's not till december. Have booked him in for a massage at the spa i go to the gym in and going to try and arrange a dinner with friends and family i think. He's so difficult to buy for though!
kaloki sorry about the cramps and confusing diagnosis, hope the wine helped and you're feeling better. So exciting about upcoming nuptials!
Hi to trying, welcome to the mad house!
tiger glad your bum's doing well :o i was thinking exactly the same about us all synching the other day.
Morning everyone else. One day closer to friday! Now i should get off my phone and do something useful at work!

felicityFlick · 24/08/2010 08:07

Morning Higheels have a good day at the chalk face :) I have just finished. Trying to find the energy to go swimming- bleurghhh!

womanlytales · 24/08/2010 08:18

felicity I am here :) and have been a good 10 minutes too catching up with all the conversations - LOL.
I came back from my jog this morning and lo & behold I believe ERTD has finally arrived. So out come the hospital number and the Clomid tabbies that I start tomorrow [perhaps a day behind you - garden] Fingers crossed that I ovulate and that we manage to get it going. So how do I feel? I feel wonderful. I felt the bottom of the trough on day26 when I was getting all the ERTD symptoms but then got horribly wobbly after meeting the noncommunicative specialist on day33 [Interesting how I count my days on the calendar as CD days]
Waiting for DH at the airport, I got a bit wobbly thinking of the brown spots [Did you know that a Costa panini has 410 calories!!!!! Terrible choice that but I had it - needed some immediate comfort]
This morning though I feel wonderful. DH is here, got my big hug [it's funny how many times I keep hugging him -- gosh I really hate it when he is awy on long work trips!!]. He's looking forward to our swiathon and I also have the clomid. We also ordered our next batch online - so if this cycle goes ok [I will be monitored again] then I want to be able to continue rather than wait till Oct 06 when the specialist is 'free' to see me!!!!

Whoever updates the list next [am scared to do it after dropping mrswajs out last time] - please put me down for Tuesday's list as:

WomanlyTales TTC#1 #6 UCL28-38 CD1
or for Wednesday's list as
WomanlyTales TTC#1 #6 UCL28-38 CD2

I love the name queencavie :) and all the ancestory details...got me thinking about mapping out ours as well. kaloki Best of luck with your visit to the GP. It's pathetic how poor the communication skills are of those in the medical profession! Sorry about the cramps you're facing. Hope you feel better soon. highheels Hope you have a better day today.. I am also interested in learning more about B6 though my specialist said I don't have a luteal phase because I don't ovulate. Hmm Bellaby glad your busy week is over - I am looking forward to the weekend too..[already!] It's so hard to work when you know there's some holiday coming up.alien I don't think you need to be sorry about ranting in here.. that's why we're all here for and most especially that's why we have the cocktails, wine and choc around too :) Hope this cycle is your lucky one -- 2 is a prime number right? :) Lastly a big wave to mumsnerves - thanks for stopping by - hope you are doing well too.

Oh - and the other reason I am feeling pretty perky this morning is DH got to see for himself that I have lost [wait for it ladies].........
...........
...........
4.2 kilos since I made some changes to my life related to diet and exercise on 4th of July. If I continue at this scary pace, I'll have lost my target 14 kgs by Nov 17 and DH is like that's just around my birthday -- and he smiled :) God give me strength to keep it together and stay away from the Costa paninis!

CaveMum · 24/08/2010 08:28

Morning lovely ladies!

trying glad you made it over! We're a very friendly, if slightly mad at times, bunch!

Haven't got time to catch up with everyone right now - running late for work- so will pop back a little later.

felicityFlick · 24/08/2010 08:55

Wow womanly that is amazing! I need some of what you are doing! Your DH must hav ebeen so proud of you when he saw you! You have inspired me to go swimming despite the rain (pool is outdoors- but I guess I'll get wet when I swim anyway won't I?! durrr!) I went last night and am trying to go three times a week- I'll go today and once on the weekend and hopefully I'll be back into and lose a few pounds!

Morning cave Have a nice day :)

See you all later on,off home via the swimming pool now.

xx

JosieSmith1 · 24/08/2010 09:00

Morning everyone. Haven?t been on all weekend so trying to catch up. There?s a lot of posts!

It?s been a bit of a miserable weekend for me this one. After finding out my best mate at work is leaving in November (not only is she leaving work she?s leaving the country!), mates horse has been put down, and not pg, it all got to me a bit and left me crying into my dishes on Friday night! How ridiculous did I feel when DH came in and I was blubbering in my marigolds!

Anyway, went to a bbq on sat and just couldn?t bring myself to be sociable! Awful I know but I just wanted to be able to say that I couldn?t drink as I was pg, but I couldn?t. Didn?t drink anyway and made an excuse to leave after about an hour and a half! I emailed my friend and apologised though. My best mate was there and she knows all about what?s going on so she understood why I wasn?t myself and she?s been looking out for me, making sure I?m not too miserable!

DH has made a good effort to cheer me up too and it was working until I?m not back in work and face to face with the mate who?s leaving!

I blame it all on the hormones! Grin

Sorry for the self-pitying post!

JosieSmith1 · 24/08/2010 09:01

not now

CaveMum · 24/08/2010 09:38

wonmanly congrats on the weight loss - that is a great achievement in such a short space of time!

flick [waves enthusiasticly] enjoy the swimming! I'm not a big swimmer, as I always tell DH: I can swim in one direction only - down!

josie you poor thing, what a weekend! Very sorry to hear that your friend is leaving and how awful about your friend's horse. Big (((hugs))) for you.

Right, must do some work! Catch you all later!

Florin · 24/08/2010 09:55

Hello everybody! I am feeling a lot more positive now ERTD has stopped and looking forward to starting the SWI stage again and hopefully this month we can give it a good go! Got Dh to cut down the caffine by getting him on decaf coffee and I am going to cut out my daily diet coke and then going to try and cut down on alcohol (obviously after holiday!!!) I am on the normal prepregnancy vitamins but wonder about dh what else is everyone elses dh on? got to be something easy no more than once day.
I have skimmed through everyones post but don't get a lot of time online as internet connection is rather bad!
Josie sorry to hear about the crap weekend, hope this week is better for you.
Womanly tales well done on the weight loss that is amazing. I must start when back from hols.

I really miss my regular catchup sessions!
We decided to be be really childish yesterday and bought crabbing lines and had a crabbing competion at the local put we could millions of the things while drinking a bottle of wine-perfect day! Today off canoeing hopefully!

gardenpixie · 24/08/2010 10:31

Good morning Frolickers!

Flick I am still howling with laughter at your "wake up" post! Sorry, I have been very lazy today and have only just finished breakfast. DH and I are both working from home which means we don't really get going until about 10:30 [lazy emoticon].
Hope you are OK and managing not to drive yourself bonkers with symptom spotting. All sounds pretty promising though .... Smile

Kaloki how are you this morning? Sorry to hear about cramps and shite Dr Sad. Can't believe how soon your wedding is - how exciting! Hurrah!

Hello trying nice to meet you. As the others have said, don't worry about bonkersness - it is definitely the norm around here Wink

Womanly you are an inspiration with your weight loss - you must be so proud of yourself. You have spurred me on to do lots of running today. So you are starting clomid tomorrow? That will be my third day of it so we are pretty much clomid buddies! I am actually feeling really well on it although I suspect that has more to do with vitB6 which is making me feel brilliant.

I'm sure everyone else knows this (as I am a late-comer to the old vit B6) but I found out not only does it help the body make the right amount of progesterone (hence extending the luteal phase), but it also is instrumental in making serotonin. I am taking a vit B complex with tons of B6 in it and I feel really fantastic with all the happy hormones zooming around - not what I was expecting while on clomid! Even DH has commented on me being "a lot less fractious" than normal Hmm

Josie my lovely, I hope you are feeling better? What a traumatic few days. Lots of hugs and virtual comfort food coming your way

Hello Florin great to hear your hols are going well - I have a great picture in my mind of you luring crabs onto your line with the promise of vino!

Big waves to everyone else xx
