Morning lovely frolickers, sorry for anyone who has had FERTD appear over the last few days. I know how hard it can hit (hugs)

KKas congrats on the job, I also think about Claire and few others who have come and gone.

Well my week went from bad to worse, we went away at the weekend and I kinda hoped it was for DP to propose as he suggested etc. Well first couple of days came and went and so I couldnt keep quiet any longer and half hinted. He then said he would have done but didnt want to because of the news we received on Wed. He said he knows how I have been broody since I was about 14 and how it is one of the most important things for me in my life. Therefore why would I want to marry him who at the moment cant father children.

Cue copious tears from me and feeling like my heart is actually been ripped out of my chest. He said was scared to ask permission from my dad as he knows the results and who would say yes in that position. I have tried to tell him that I love him no matter what and he is not allowed to make that decision for me. He is taking it really hard and tells me he loves my so much but he trying to think of me and that fact that he is broken and cant give me what I want.

I think I have talked him into prososing soon still and we were talking about the wedding again but I can see the hurt in his eyes.

We are starting a new lifestyle today - vitamins/ cutting down on alcohol/ increasing fitness and dieting. Also bought a couple of books on infertility.

Sorry for the me me me post yet again but I am still reading everyones post had been so hoping for a BFP over the weekend.

crazybutterflylady · 23/08/2010 09:02

Just a quick one from me as rushing to vet but zippys just wanted to send you a hug. If you haven't already got it, the baby making bible by emma cannon is really good. I have just finished it. Your DP sounds like a really lovely man! Have you thought about proposing to him?! :) I hope things start looking up for you soon, it never rains does it.

will be back soon!x

gardenpixie · 23/08/2010 09:12

Highheels Sad booo hissssss for FERTD. Hope you are OK

zippys I was almost in tears reading your post! Your DP sounds like such a sensitive and considerate chap - but how awful that he's taking the results so badly. I agree with crazy re proposing to him! Seriously though I do hope that he finds a way to be less hard on himself and to realise it is about you two together as a couple, not about problems being one person's fault.

Florin glad you are having a good time on hols - hurrah!

Womanly thanks for doing the list - how are you this morning?

Cavey when is your next appt? Any sign of ERTD?

Crazy hope the vets trip went well!

Big waves to everyone else! Grin

So today is my first day of clomid . Feeling fine so far but if my posts suddenly get grumpier or any more psychotic than normal, please do let me know!

Happy Mondays all round - hope everyone manages to dodge the rain xx

TigerseyeMum · 23/08/2010 10:05

I am on Day 2 of Cycle 2.

Bums.

Had a nice weekend though, the cramps ony started last night in earnest.

Hope the Clomid goes well pixie, it will be interesting to see how you find it, in case I need to start it too (if I ever get that specialist appointment).

The rain has stopped....

CaveMum · 23/08/2010 10:06

Morning everyone.

zippys, I'm with garden, your post made me well up. Good, honest blokes are hard to come by but you certainly sound as if you've bagged one. Big (((hugs))) to both of you.

garden thanks for thinking of me. I've made an appointment, as it wasn't urgent it is not until Weds morning, but that will give ERTD a chance to turn up and mock me!

Happy Monday to everyone else :)

kkas · 23/08/2010 11:14

zippys i am also nearly in tears after reading your post. sounds like your DP is lovely and i know you guys will be able to get through this and be stronger than ever. i second crazy's recommendation of emma cannon's book. it is fantastic and really helps you to feel like you are doing something and keeping everything in perspective. hope you are feeling better soon hun

Hormones have gone into total overdrive and I've turned into a she-bitch now :( poor DP.

OP posts:
felicityFlick · 23/08/2010 11:51

Morning Frolickers,

Oh zippys you love. Ditto what the other girls have said. Bless your gorgeous DP. That is true man logic for you :) He sounds lovely.

Glad you've got a docs appointment cave I am sending all my FERTD vibes your way though chick so hopefully you won't need to go ;)

Sorry that ERTD got you too tiger- It seems as if there was a mass dumping on over the weekend for our lovely frolickers :( This displeases me.

Glad you are having a lovely time florin- keep sampling the pubs! Lush.

garden good luck with the Clomid :) I know you were really excited about starting it, It's going to work wonders for you my dear, I can just feel it :) Do you have to have any scans or anything whilst you're taking it or do you just take it and keep shagging ;) (when I say that, I am saying it in the style of Tess Daly and Bruce Forsyth when they say 'Keeeeep dancing' on Strictly Come Dancing. Any one know what I am on about or I have I officially lost the plot?!)

Waves to busylanky sorry about your FERTD too- what a crap weekend for us frolickers as I said before. BOO- have a few guilt free pornstar cocktails to make up for it.

Oh no crazy, hope nothing is too wrong? An early morning trip to the vets doesn't sound good. Hope all is ok xxx

Hello lovely kkas :) It's so nice to see you here. I miss the oldies too- especially claire and calyx and sevans LOVE the newbies too though of course ;)

Hope you're doing ok aries I MISS YOU xxx

mrsw! Sorry you got dropped off the end there. I can't believe that you are being nasty to your dp, you are far too lovely :)

Hope your Monday goes ok higheels and that you're not in too much stupid FERTD pain. Good luck ringing the accupuncturist- let us know what they say.

Off to have my tea now- YUMMMMY. Will be back later

xxx

CaveMum · 23/08/2010 11:56

Lol @ flick and "This displeases me"!

Sorry, but I've just got an image of you in my head as Queen Victoria on the throne pulling a "We are not amused" face!

Grin

[pulls self together]

gardenpixie · 23/08/2010 12:08

Hi Flick yes I am going to have a scan on CD12 to see what the follicules are up to - and I've been given strict instructions to SWI every day from CD9 to CD19. POOOOOOR MR GARDEN!

Am chuckling at Cavey's queen victoria image - queen vic was awash with children wasn't she? Maybe that's a good image to have!

And yes, the frolickers do seem to have had a stinker of a weekend what with all the ERTDs. Here's to better luck over the next few weeks and a glut of BFPs x

gardenpixie · 23/08/2010 12:12

Flick also thanks for kind words re clomid - I am keeping my fingers crossed! Loved the Tess Dale / Brucy reference too ... ! x

CaveMum · 23/08/2010 12:24

garden you are indeed right!

Queen Victoria was uber-fertile - she married Prince Albert on 10/2/1840 and gave birth to their first child on 21/11/1840! Not bad going!
She had nine children over 17 years - ouch!

BTW, I'm not a Queen Victoria geek or anything, I just remember hearing about the short space of time between her getting married and giving birth so looked up the details. I doubt any extra-marital hankypanky was going on in those days, for the future Queen at least!

She doesn't quite top DH's great-grandmother though - she married in 1894 and proceeded to have 16 children over the next 22 years! 15 of them survived (DH's grandfather was No 8) but giving birth to the 16th child did poor Annie in and she died a few weeks later at the age of 44.

Baby factory doesn't even begin to describe it!

TanteAC · 23/08/2010 12:29

Bonjour a tous!
Just back from a binge drinking lovely weekend so now have a chance to catch up!

cavemum the matching cake/outfit combo was a big hit lol. Now I will hae to search for something as gorgeous as Kaloki 's shoes - amazing!

womanlytales you have just solved a mystery for me! Shock Every so often since I was a teenager I have had really dry skin around my eyes and neck (odd I know) like a contact allergy. Never, ever managed to work out what it was - and then you said it is (yet another) symptom of PCOS!!! Shock

TanteAC · 23/08/2010 12:32

Loving the 'Keeeeeep shagging!' line lol! Will be using that!

felicityFlick · 23/08/2010 12:40

He he now I'm laughing at you cave, you big queen Victoria geek :) I would love a bot of what she was having Wink and your dh's Great-gran too. Am also impressed with your knowledge of your family history- I am crap and can barely remember my great grandparents names, let alone anything about Mr. F's family Blush bad wife award over here!

Woooo Hooooo garden!!! You go girl- lucky Mr. Garden with all that SWI'ing. CD 12 will be here before you know it.

Morning tante loving the alcohol consumption lady :) Impressive that you had no hangover Envy I totally forgot to mention your idiotic GP the other day- I am, belatedly, displeased with him too.Wink Stupid Wankerus Maximus
Please take your duvet, mag and hot choc to see him. Sooo funny.

Are my expanding thighs a sign then two tiger and tante?!

felicityFlick · 23/08/2010 12:41

*KEEEEEEEEP Shagging' Grin Good ol' Brucie. I'll never look at him in the same way again Wink

Toriajayne · 23/08/2010 12:47

Also loving Flicks "This displeases me" line, though I went to the Red Queen from Alice In Wonderland and am now waiting for you to start shouting "Off with their heads!"

Zippys What an absolute sweetheart your OH is, I started welling up reading your post and second (third, fourth?) the suggestion to propose to him, I am always an advocate of this having done it myself! Not to portray myself as desperate and controlling or all the other things people seem to associate with this...

Garden Good luck with the Clomid, and I'm sure Mr Garden won really mind TOO much, my OH currently thinks all his Christmasses are here at once after the way I've been the last few weeks!

Tante I am desperately trying to think up a crystal balls joke but none are coming to me atm...

Highheels How to make a Monday worse huh? Hope you feel better soon and agree that cocktails are defnitely in order. If it's not too nosy, can I ask where you work? Nothing specific obviously, I'm not a stalker, just always interests me when I know people are nearby and I figured if you're near enough Edinburgh to go to Club Noir then I probably know the area :)

Aries I'm a grumpy beligerent cow most of the time, honestly not sure where all this polite conversation is coming from...

Right, I'm off to do the washing/ironing/puting away/dishwasher loading and other stuff that I have to do because I dare not work on a Monday hope everyone is having as pain free a Monday as possible!

CaveMum · 23/08/2010 12:48

Flick DH and I have been researching our family history, it's a bit of a pet project! We're on the Ancestry website so that we can keep track of it all! It's very interesting and you can often uncover things you never knew.

Some of it is very amusing - we always assumed that "free love" and pre-marital sex didn't really happen (that much) before the 1960s, but judging by the number of women in both our families who got married and mysteriously had a baby 6/7 months later we were very wrong Shock

My claim to fame that we have discovered is that I am (very, very, very, very, very, VERY distantly) related to Princess Diana, and therefore Wills and Harry Grin!

Don't think I've got enough of a claim to stage a coup though Wink

crazybutterflylady · 23/08/2010 12:57

Hi again!
Vets was ok, just booster shots for my babies (1 year old now!). I hate taking them though, they get so upset :( Boris cries and cries and tries to fight his way out of the carrier, and Florence buries herself into the towels in her carrier. Poor little things... Hopefully their last visit for another year!

Hi MrsW!! I wouldn't worry about the hormones, I am sure DP will forgive you since you have shown the world he is firing on all cylinders Grin hehe

Hope you've enjoyed your tea flick - I just stuffed my face with homemade fish pie... yummmm. Off to the gym in a couple of hours to work it all off!

garden lots of luck for the Clomid magic! I am sure it's your turn next :)

cavey hi! Loving the Queen Vic geekism... and Shock about your great gran-in-law. 44 and 16 kids... crikey!!!

highheels crap about BCSFSFERTD :( 2 weeks of wine and chocolate here you come! Enjoy the acupuncturist, I LOVE acupuncture. The Emma Cannon book tells you about acupressure and how to do it (or how to show OH how to hehe), I found that bit interesting, and the yoga stretches. She has some on her website too I think.

Tante loving wankerus maximums!! I think all GPs who couldn't give a toss (except when tossing themselves Grin) should be referred to as this! Seems there are far too many out there.

I have an expanding tummy which is definitely a pg sign (despite the fact it is clearly above the uterus and more due to excessive fish pie and chocolate this weekend) :)

gardenpixie · 23/08/2010 13:19

Wowsers Cavey 16 kids? I thought my great grandma did well with 14 ... I think she must be looking down on me with despair that I only have a labrador and a moggy despite being the same age as she was when she had had 12 people babies (as opposed to pet babies)

And henceforth I shall refer to you as QueenCavey given your royal links

Tante am still giggling re the not crossing legs joke ... very good! I think when one is TTC-ing, modesty and decorum should definitely be thrown in the bin!

Crazy poor Boris and Florence - but what excellent names! Hope they are recovering from vets

Flick I think I won't mention the KEEEEEEEEEEP shagging Brucie ref to DH as am slightly concerned it will conjur up unhelpful images for him! Lord knows how I am going to keep him interested for our prescribed SWI-athon. Might go shopping for saucy undies...!

I am very proud of myself today ladies, I have been making cushion covers all morning! DH is very impressed (he struggles to sew on a button)!

Think I've earnt a cuppa in front of Jeremy Kyle x

womanlytales · 23/08/2010 14:22

Hello ladies,
Apologies to mrswajs - for I did Monday's list and accidentally dropped you. Thank you for speedily rectifying that.
zippys Echo all the comments thus far Hope you and DP spend plenty of time realizing what's special about you too. It's not easy having complications with the TTC mechanism..and got to admit I've seen enough of the word 'broken' around here...first I thought it was OK for me to go on and on and use it galore..and then when I started seeing you use it too - - I realized wait a minute this is not right. There is a lot of hope and goodness and opportunities and we are NOT broken.. just fitted a bit differently and that's ok.. like the french say - vive la difference. I get all teary when I hear you folks use the term broken.. and that wisened me up.. I am going to try and not use it for myself cause I just realized it's really hard for the person on the other hand... I am not broken... I am not broken.. that's my new mantra.. It's all of our new mantra..

For all those who have ERTD, here's to new beginnings. Let's hold out for hope and the kind of inspirational specialness that Zippys shares with her dp.

Thank you to those asking about me highheels I did test on Thursday after having a mug full of tea (why didn't I just throw the test right into the bin first???) and got a bfn. AF is still away though today I have had a bit of spotting so I believe ERTD is going to be here any day soon though still my heart is all wrapped up in fantasy cotton. Good news is that DH is back from long office trip abroad... and I am so looking forward to a big hug :)

Have a lovely week. Again, sorry mrswajs for dropping your name accidentally.

womanlytales · 23/08/2010 14:23

err -- zippys I meant special about you TWO (not too).

felicityFlick · 23/08/2010 14:27

womanly your posts are always so lovely and heartfelt. I'm so glad you're here xxx

LankyLegs · 23/08/2010 14:53

Hello you gorgeous lot!

I am sneaking a reading up in from my new desk and project!

Hope everyone is well! I hope those of you with ERTD are feeling ok - I can't believe I am onto cycle 11 of TTC - seems crazy. Anyway - onwards and upwards for all.

I promise to do a proper update this evening when I am back at home! Just wanted to pop head in say hi!

Lots of love to all!

mumnerves · 23/08/2010 16:39
