Yippee I am getting really close to the top of the list! Tomorrow will allow myself to buy a test. I have tried the whole waiting for FERTD and found that gives me to much wondering oh I wonder if I'm pregnant time- best to get the disappointment over earlier so I can get on and enjoy my holiday which starts on Saturday!
Hope everyone has a good day!

felicityFlick · 18/08/2010 06:24

Fingers crossed for you lovely florin Where you off on your hols?

JosieSmith1 · 18/08/2010 08:48

Highheels I have let you down! Everyone feel free to say 'told you so' Grin - last night I bought 2 cheepies and PdOAS. BNF twice Sad

But I was early so there's a chance, and my current crazy symptom spotting is that I haven't had PMT this week, which usually drives me crazy the week leading up to ERDT.

As Toria says, 'it's not over till it's over' and until ERTD arrives, it's not over Grin!

crazybutterflylady · 18/08/2010 09:00

Morning everyone

Thanks for doing the list flick and good luck florin and josie... everything crossed.

I have been dutifully SWIing and am determined that this will be my month!

x

gardenpixie · 18/08/2010 09:11

Morning ladies,

Crazy good on you for doing your SWI duty! Hurrah! And am sure Mr Crazy doesn't mind too much either ... Wink

Florin what a bummer about the flight company. I hope you had some suitable consolatory pornstar cocktails?

Flick it's odd to think of you all the way over there and being all awake and up and working while we're all snoozing! Hope you are settling back in and that the jet lag is totally over.

Josie sorry to hear about your BFNs but as you said, it's not over yet!

How are you doing today Cavey? I hope you are feeling better?

No news from me. Am convinced am not pg this cycle and am pretty sure that ERTD is going to start today sometime. (I get this wierd thing where my skin looks great the day before ERTD - and then obviously goes back to looking awful for rest of the 34 days in my cycle)! But 9 is my lucky number so am hoping the combination of cycle 9 and clomid will crack it next time round!

Big hellos to everyone else too - I have to dash and take my dog out for a run do some work.

Will check in later to see how you are all doing xx

LankyLegs · 18/08/2010 09:26

Morning Peeps,

Oooh lots of promising signs going on Florin , Highheels and Josie . Josie its still early so don't be deterred about the BFN's my dear. Keep hope!

Garden really hope that FERTD doesn't arrive for you today chica. Enjoy your running work!

*Flick - funny to see your crazy hour posts again! Can't believe how quickly the summer is going I remember when you were heading over here on the last day of term!

Crazy and Pink well done on your dutiful SWI-ing! You go girls! Pink i had some dairy milk last night too Shock it was only a few bits - but there is something soooo nice about cadbury's dairy milk! I do love green and blacks - but sometimes it just got to be good old confectionary!

Cave sounds like the wine and ice-cream is doing the trick - glad you seem to be feeling a bit cherpier. Its a rollercoaster init?!

Highheels your symptoms sounds promising - hope that the purchase of the corset means you do get a BFP! I held off ages buying clothes - thinking will be a waste of money etc etc! Now I just buy things that are more floaty or wearable at least in the early stages of pregnancy. I ended up spending £110 in B&Q last night on a toolbag, a spirit level ?! and box thing with compartments to put nails in and stuff. Jeeze. Men. Still no idea how I am going to wrap them - suggestions welcome.

Hello to everyone else!

Was thinking about kkas - how and where are you my dear? Hope you are ok.

And Kaloki hope the last few weeks of wedding prep are going ok? Have you found shoes yet?!

cherry have you got your ring sorted yet?! Also - hope you feeling ok - thinking of you.

womanly good luck with the specialist today - make sure you get all your questions answered xx

GP was ok last night ( she is getting more pregnant - I mean what did I expect - that she was going to get smaller?!) she doubled my dose on thyroxine - I tried to get it up to 125mcg but she would only put me up to 100mcg. She also said the late period could be to stress (thinking about why the period isn't here etc), or a late BFP (not possible - have done 3 tests over the last week now and nothing) or the thyroid - its not uncommon for your ERTD to go AWOL when you have an underactive thyroid. Gah. Its defo the thyroid!

Have resigned myself to not even bother pant checking or testing anymore and will just SWI on through until it arrives again. What else can I do?

Happy Wednesday All. Just think - we are nearly half way through the week!

crazybutterflylady · 18/08/2010 09:27

Morning garden
like you said to Josie, it's not over yet! I am still keeping everything crossed for you :) x

JosieSmith1 · 18/08/2010 09:45

Thanks everyone, I'm still hopeful! Though if I'm honest I think I can feel the first twinges of ERTD. But there's always next month if it does rear it's ugly head! Grin Going to bessies for tea tomorrow and we're both going to have a good moan Grin

slowshow · 18/08/2010 10:12

Hello - I'm new Grin

Getting married next month and plan to TTC straight away. I am excited and terrified. Seems like I have a lot to familiarise myself with in this thread!

gardenpixie · 18/08/2010 10:33

Hello slowshow and welcome Smile

Very exciting about your wedding and impending TTC!

Lanky that's great news that the GP put your dosage up but obviously not great that your thyroid isn't doing its thing properly. Fingers crossed the extra thyroxine will boot it into action!

Right, now I REALLY must do some work ....! If I post anything else before this evening, please everyone feel free to shout at me to get back to my presentation! ARGH

Grin
LankyLegs · 18/08/2010 10:41

Garden I am the same - trying to finish a presentation for midday (eek) and keep lurking! Good luck Grin

Welcome slowshow and great news about your wedding! We got on the TTC wagon on our honeymoon last year too! Couldn't wait!

gardenpixie · 18/08/2010 10:48

OK Lanky let's be strong and NOT lurk or post until we've done our work and then we can start drinking Grin

TanteAC · 18/08/2010 10:58

Hi all!
Josie hang on in there - as well as garden and all others waiting for a possibe BFP...(also, Josie is one of my potential girl names!)

Nice to see you MrsWajs, you are the first graduate I have witnessed, so am rooting for ya! Grin

And hello to all those SWI like moi - I don't seem to have any cycle at all, so am randomly SWI like it is going out of fashion! Blush DH is in a hotel tonight with work, but suspect he may just be needing a break!

Dreamt last night that I had a BFP test - that has never happened before! It is because I haven't POAS this month, my mind is going mad.

lanky how disconcerting that your GP is preggers!! I bet she feels weird as well. Sort of like when I had to cover a sex ed and contraception class as a favour to another teacher because she was pg and in the previous one all the kids just stared at her thinking 'miss has had sex, miss has had sex' lol! Not sure why that reminded me of that, but anyway... (am rambling!) Maybe some of her babydust will rub off on your thyroid...fingers crossed x

highheels back to school already Sad urgh. Am on my way in myself, results day tomorrow and am nervous!! Never nervous about my own results when I was doing exams, now poop myself for the kids I teach. Ridiculous or what?

Hi slowshow and welcome! Shall we have some welcome drinks? Cocktail, anyone?

x

felicityFlick · 18/08/2010 11:20

Welcome slowshow!

lanky Glad you were ok with your preg GP. I think she should dress more considerately so as not to offend her patients :) Fingers crossed that the higher dose of thyroxine kicks in soon. Annoying that she couldn?t give you a definitive answer as to why ERTD is missing but I guess you never can tell can you? I think you should give yourself two weeks and if it?s not here in two weeks have a little POAS just to see what?s what. Can?t believe you spent so much in B&Q! Good on your though for knowing what to get, I?d be crap! Did you manage to wrap them Wink I know, it doesn?t seem five minutes ago that I was wittering on about my holidays and here I am nose to the grindstone again. Well, not quite! Although I am starting to think that my new job will help me loose some weight as I have not sat down at all today really and have bee rushing around all over the place so that could have some benefits.

How exciting that we are testing the same weekend toria- we must stay strong. My resolve is already weakening but I know I will be so cross with myself if I test before that date and it is a BFN. You never know, I could have ERTD by then anyway :( boo

Sorry to hear about your BFN josie but you have athe right attitude :) It is certainly not over til it?s over- just look at mrsW!

Thanks crazy, it?s nice to be back! I?m determined that it will be your month too. Keep going so you don?t let me down Wink

How funny about your lovely skin garden?! Am keeping fingers crossed that it is lush, glowy pregnancy skin though... although if it?s not I am sure that cycle 9 will be lucky. highheels... is 9 a prime number?! bunny who is on the grads now once has a theory that prime numbers were lucky cycles so if 9 is a prime number you are in there. (if it?s not we will make up a new theory so it WILL be your month next month if it isn?t this time around :) ) GET YOUR WORK DONE you too lanky Wink Am not feeling too jet lagged thanks for asking, so am starting to think I have avoided it this time around. All settled back in, just like I have never been away!

highheels I?m glad you feel better having someone to confide in in RL now. Hope you enjoyed your tea and cake :) yummmmy!

pinklady Ouch to your corset ! Good luck with the SWI

Meant to say earlier florin rubbish about the flight company. Hope work is not as manic as you expected today. What is it that you do?

Hi tante, what do you teach? I am exactly the same when it is results day! In fact, I think I am more nervous as a teacher than I was when I did my own exams. How weird about your dream... do you think it's a sign???

Let us know how you get on womanly- thinking of you xx

Well, I was determined not to symptom spot as I would only be disappointed when FERTD arrives but I can?t help it as I have an abundance of pant snot sorry if TMI but so much so that I had to go to the loo yesterday cos I thought my period must have started un-expectedly. I am also really bloated and am having some cramps, although perhaps I am imagining those Grin I am so tempted to POAS early but I will be really angry with myself if like I said before. Only 9 days to go...... Hmm

felicityFlick · 18/08/2010 11:21

PS, definitely yes to the welcome drinks :)

alien06 · 18/08/2010 11:24

hey --- I think I need to be changed to cycle 2 on the list?? as ERTD returned on 12/8??

DessieLou · 18/08/2010 11:42

Welcome Slowshow! I've only been here a week or so and these lot are so hard to keep track of! I recommend sitting down with a note pad & pen! Congrats on your impending wedding...how exciting! I'm finding this TTC malarky so confusing but will be easier for you if you have a regular cycle. If you have any questions just ask...some of these girls know more about TTC than any doctor I've met!
And since I've been here MrsW has had a BFP so it is possible!
Grin

Here you go alien

womanlytales · 18/08/2010 12:02

alien Thanks for the reminder - When the list gets updated on Thursday we'll be sure to update your stats.
lanky I take 75mg Thyroxin and my gp tests me twice a year..the wierd part is when it's normal, he doesn't bother even telling me. So I need to call in for the results and then get the 'no remarks' read out for me by the gp office. I would still say - keep testing till it arrives if you can. This is of course from someone who is scared silly of testing... !!!
garden read somewhere that ertd symptoms are the same as pregnancy symptoms so if itsn't here yet..the spotting from earlier could be just about anything...so hang in there and keep testing.
This is quite a month ladies - after a July of hardly any bfps...we now have a good number of us seriously poasing - yeah!
josie Sorry about the bfn -- agree with garden and flick - keep at it if you can.
By the way flick I am sending you lots of baby dust for when you do poas and hope you still go by your earlier plan of testing late (cd 39 you are inspirational) I think it was cavemum who's repeatedly posted the inaccuracy of these tests...so as flo used to say you'll only be more pregnant as the days progress.
tante I love your bfp dream - I wish I'd have one of those... instead off late I've been having some truly weird dreams...and need to wake myself up to just get over it and go back to sleep again...
Love all the talk about not working... I am perhaps the worst of all...so much so that DH has been asking me to not skirk off work... I can't help it -- this whole phase of my cycle can be really stressful...
Stress - that's one reason I could possibly not have got my ERTD yet.. Last week when I got ERTD symptoms I had a huge cry on weds night..just let it all out... ..and then symptoms continued till sat and then disappeared... so am waiting for ERTD and it's not the best place to be.
Met with my specialist who I hate don't like too much the man doesn't have a single caring bone in his body... Honestly my interaction with a website is a warmer one than these appointments.. So he looks at my follicular monitoring report and says all right you don't ovulate - so we'll put you on clomid and off you go... He doesn't ever ask if I have any questions or concerns...last time I was on clomid I had a huge case of depression so much so that I am terrified of going back into that phase where I felt this cloud over my life... Just as he's shoving--showing me out the door..I interject with my questions..
Q1 - Do I have PCO, PCOS or PCOD? And what type is it?
Ans - PCOS.
Q2 - We know that because....
Ans - Scan and anovulatory cycles.
Q3 - Do I need to test for AMH?
Ans - No
Q4 [by this time I am feeling terribly nervous and idiotic in equal measure..]
So... what about insulin resistance?
Ans - What about it...
Q5 - Do I have it? Do we need to test for it?
Ans - No
Q6 - Should I be consulting an endocrinologist to monitor my thyroid?
Ans - Ask your gp.
Q7 - My period has not started yet....
Ans - Let's wait for it to start and then you are good to go with the clomid.
Let me walk you to the pharmacy. [End]
So there you have it ladies - I come home with five little pills and that's it.
Even if I completed a follicular monitoring cycle in Aug - I will not see him again till Oct - cause his calendar is completely booked... so if this cycle with clomid doesn't get a bfp - I get to wait one more cycle of nothing and then start all over again.
Is this really the norm with NHS services? It's quite depressing.

Not once did he say - 'I would test for pregnancy in a week's time if your period isn't here' with a smile even... not once.

Terrible.. So I guess that means with all his experience perhaps I am broken..and when ERTD arrives I can begin clomid... I am thinking of buying the stuff online... and not have to wait for his precious calendar to open up in order to ensure that I have a continous treatment.

Sorry - longish rant. Just feeling blue... The good news is I have those freaking pills and can at least try them

crazybutterflylady · 18/08/2010 12:03

flick you put us all to shame with your long posts which cover everyone Blush you're very sweet! Thanks for updating the list :)

Welcome slowshow I bet you're really excited for your wedding, good luck with it all and for the TTC Wink

Good luck to garden and lanky with your work pledge. STOP READING THIS AND GET BACK TO IT!!! And lanky my suggestion is find a big box to fit them all in...and plant them in there amongst bubblewrap etc, like a treasure hunt when you were a kid! Wrap the big box and all the pressies inside it in Bob the Builder wrapping paper Grin Good luck for your new dosage, I am sure it will help. Maybe the fun of Mr Lanky's birthday will take your mind off the TTC for a bit and you never know what might happen...!

Is it bad that all I can think of is getting home to get jiggy?!! I just took Mr Crazy for a coffee and muffin to keep his strength up for tonight, mouhahaha.

I totally do NOT want to be at work, it's dull dull dull.

gardenpixie · 18/08/2010 12:10

Hi womanly have just finished one section of my presentation so I thought I'd have a quick lurk and saw your post.

Doesn't sound like the consultant was at all sensitive. It's so tough isn't it. Good for you for asking the questions but doesn't sound like he was in a communicative mood. Maybe we will be on clomid together?

Rubbish that you can't see him until October though. Does that mean you have to wait until then to renew your prescription? Obviously I am sure you will have a BFP before then ... but he should at least have given you 3 months' of it? Are you on 50mgs?

And has he given you progesterone as well? My consultant said it's really important to take it after ov-ing with clomid just to give any resulting beans the best chance of nestling in.

Right ... off to the second bit of my pres ...

crazybutterflylady · 18/08/2010 12:10

womanly I would strongly suggest you asdk for a new specialist. What a total waste of your time.

As an aside... I have always wondered why men choose to specialise in gynae. especially if they are as uninterested/unsympathetic as he is!

gardenpixie · 18/08/2010 12:13

womanly sorry, just realised the progesterone was particularly important for me because of my rubbishly short luteal phase so might not be an issue for you ... I get a bit Confused with all the various things my body does badly! x

alien06 · 18/08/2010 12:18

aww thank you FelicityFlick :)

felicityFlick · 18/08/2010 12:58

crazy I don't put you to shame- you post lots whereas I miss lots so have to catch up! When I wake up in the morning you have chatted loads so I have to catch up or be left behind, heaven forbid! I think your frequency cancels out my length :)

womanly sorry you had such an unsympathetic specialist. It really makes me wonder why these un caring people want such jobs. Good on you for asking your questions, I would have wimped out so I am glad you didn't. Thanks for the words of encouragement- I will try my best to stick to day 39, don't want to let you down and I rather licked being called inspirational Grin!
