Well it's a bit of a con really lanky because you can't swim or cycle with it(!)

I think you can get a lot of jogging strollers - you have to be careful about wheel size apparently though, especially because MrC is 6'4; we don't want him kicking DC in the head with every step...!

Owwwuuuuhhhh I just want to be pg now!

LankyLegs · 16/08/2010 13:57

That's true! It is a bit of a con then really - calling it a triathlon buggy. Its actually just a running one! Marketing!

Jeeze - I really want to be pregnant as well - but don't we all.

I went to have a blood test this morning so was late into work and got the bus to the station and I kid you not I was just staring out the window looking at all the mums strolling down the lovely high street with their prams chatting ot other mums and generally being all smug whilst I was rushing to work at 10am... thinking when will it be my turn!!!

crazybutterflylady · 16/08/2010 14:03

Awww everything crossed, your turn next! You might even be now!! Wink

x

JosieSmith1 · 16/08/2010 14:04

My god that is expensive! We're totally skint so getting as much as possible off ILs as they've got sprogs all over the place and toys/prams/cots aplenty!

Toriajayne · 16/08/2010 14:10

Pink They do sound alike, OH has so far this year done his SPA (climbing coach) assessment, his ML (Mountain Leader) training and climbed a few Munroes, he's off to do the Old man of Stoer again this weekend and did the Inaccesible Pinnacle a few months back. He's also aiming for his MIA in a few years and there's even talk of him going up Mt Vinson in Antarctica with the scouts in a year or so. I think he's mental but as Crazy said, baby in buggy/carrier up a hill, mum in bath, peace and quiet - SOLD!

Josie, I also just snorted my juice then, very glad I'm at home today so no one to watch me lol.

Lanky Fingers crossed this is your month x

LankyLegs · 16/08/2010 14:15

Thanks ladies.

I so sometimes think I would go mad If I didn't have you lot to offload to! Although my best friend knows we are trying - I can't go into the details with her as she just doesn't get it.

Anyway - your blokes sound very sporty pink and toria - how nice! I do like a fit man!!! MrLanky's works out a lot in the gym and has been since the age of 17 (he is 35 now) and still obsessed with his 3-4 sessions a week.

Me on the other hand.... hmmm lucky to get in 2 session at the moment!

I am going to the gym this evening though, I am I am I am I am Grin

TanteAC · 16/08/2010 14:32

I was going to go to the gym. Or play tennis. But think it is a waste of sunshine of I do not take my book and go and sit in the park/by the river.

Then I will probably think it is a waste not to check just in case any of my friends are doing the same.

Then we will probably decide to get a cold drink.

Then at the bar, someone will suggest a nice bottle of crabbies or the like. I will skip the first cople and then decide that really, as I am not even POAS this week, I might aswell have one, too.....Grin

I have to say, the whole not drinking thing is BY FAR the hardest thing to pull off. I can do it in private (well, one would hope I could, not lone drinking lol) but in public it is hard because a. everyone notices and thinks your pregnant nd b. I REALLY LOVE GOOD BOOZE. Grin
It's been 1 yr now! How do I keep this up?!!
Shock
x

womanlytales · 16/08/2010 14:33

lanky I have my fingers crossed for you - - Given you have regular cycles, this could be your month... .So don't worry about the odd bfp - just test again by Friday. I remember Mrswajs had a bfn..that next day turned faint pink....and then tested again a week later for a faint line....and then a few days later for a fainter still line... So there are so many permutations and combinations to that bfp ... Fingers crossed :)
Also forgot to mention earlier - congrats on the sale..and good luck with this new place you have recently viewed.

I have a specialist meeting on Weds...though I started the morning thinkig I am just going to call in sick... can't focus on anything... managed to eat quite a bit too....and then just reeled myself in to complete an article for a magazine.. my first if it gets published... so woo hooo.

I keep thinking ERTD has arrived and keep running to the loo to check!!!! and then while doing the article I was searching up some quotes and came across this classic one from Einstein that goes something like this.... 'Insanity is doing the same things again and again and expecting different results' LOL LOL

Tells moi to GET IT TOGETHER! lol

JosieSmith1 · 16/08/2010 14:50

Ha ha womanly I've heard that quote! Should we worry?

I'm convinced it's my month this month too, one minute I could eat everything, the next I'm not hungry and feel just the teeny tiniest bit sick, but then I think I've had a bug that's going around work, though I haven't felt really 'ill' at all! I'm confused, wish it was friday! Plus I'm drinking looooads of tea, even at home, which I very rarely do but was doing all last week, and naturally going to toilet more as I'm drinking more.

But then again it might just be me! It's very easy to misinterpret things when you're hoping it means you're pg.

gardenpixie · 16/08/2010 14:53

Hello chatty frolickers! Hope everyone is well.

Lanky you must be going nuts at being 5 days late. Sounds really promising though if your cycles are usually regular ... Fingers crossed for a BFP soon! When I was going particularly nuts about being 2 weeks late with no BFP (before I was told I had insulin nonsense which was messing up my cycles), my GP said that sometimes the pregnancy hormones just take a little longer to get to the point where they register on a HPT - doesn't mean anything's wrong, just that the embryo is taking its time to start pumping them out. Especially if it implanted late - apparently they can implant anything up to 12DPO (VERY picky about where they go) so it can take a while.

Fingers crossed!

Womanly I found out about insulin resistance when I had a full PCOS profile blood test. They tested FSH, LH, testosterone (hence the "jokes" about me being a man), progesterone, oestrogen, insulin (after fasting for 12 hrs), various glycerides, AMH, cholesterol and some other stuff too. It turned out I have PCO but not the normal profile for PCOS - so my FSH / LH ratio is fine, my cholesterol is fine (normally elevated in PCOS) but my AMH was raised and I had insulin resistance.

It is really worth pushing for the test because they can either give you metformin to help with it or at least you'll know the right foods to eat, when to eat etc etc. I decide to try to get my weight down without metformin and, once I started following a GI / diabetic diet and exercise plan, I almost cried because I felt better than I had in years and, rather than dieting making me feel tired and hungry, I actually lost weight.

I really really recommend pushing for it - my consultant said the NHS only usually test for it if you have clear markers for PCOS like FHS / LH ratio being out of kilter (the NHS don't test AMH even though it is the clearest indicator of PCOS as it measures the number of little follicules just beneath the surface of the ovary rather than ultrasounds that only capture the ones on the surface).

I hadn't realised that PCOS can take many forms (I think there are at least 4 PCOS 'types') and each one responds best to tailored treatment. FWIW, my blood tests cost £345 which made me cringe to start with but I am SO glad I got them!

So be strident!

Crazy your posts had me in stitches! Re the EWCM, I think you ov on the last day of it, so it is nature's way of saying: you are about to ov, here is lots of swimmer friendly stuff designed to get them to the right place fast, get shagging Grin.

Not much news from me. Spotting seems to have stopped but I have NO other symptoms. I am going to hold off testing until the weekend because then I'll definitely be late rather than pretend late - assuming FERTD doesn't get me first.

Big waves, happy SWI-ing and 2WW stoicism all round xxx

crazybutterflylady · 16/08/2010 15:03
Grin
Bellaby · 16/08/2010 15:17

Oooh so many tests coming up. I am getting all excited

womanly that's great on your weightless. Well done

lanky glad you liked the house. If you can afford it it's nice to be able to stamp your mark on a place early on. Would be worse if you bought a house which didn't need updating but you didn't like - if that makes sense. Will warn DH that he needs to be ready for a SWIathon. Certain we won't be able to manage what superpenguin did but hopefully a few times during the window.

No trip to mothercare here but I am getting impatient now

Like someone else said I was hoping to be counting down the days to maternity leave. Have definitely lost interest in work

CaveMum · 16/08/2010 15:25

crazy I've enabled the CAT so you should be able to contact me, that way we can talk in private. Shhhhh! Wink

JosieSmith1 · 16/08/2010 15:26

Bellaby that might have been me who mentioned work, I'm really sick of it, using the possibility of maternity leave as a bit of a pick-me-up! Grin

LankyLegs · 16/08/2010 16:15

Oooh what is CAT?!

LankyLegs · 16/08/2010 16:23

Bella I totally agree - am sick to death of work already. I am a freelancer and have been on this contract for a while now - but was hoping I would be suitably pregnant by now so as to not to have to accept further work!

Yep - although the house is pricey we are pushing ourselves - but within reason. It will be nice to put our own stamp on it for sure.

Good luck with the SWI-a-thon!

Errr Garden spotting in the 2ww?! What could that mean?! Are you symptom spotting?!

womanly you are being totally strong right now and am hoping that you are feeling positive - you are doing so well with all the weight loss chica Grin

Tante la la la not listening - I will go to the gym and not sit on the common and read book... then drink wine.... then drink more wine...hmm

Did I tell you ladies I had a sub standard pornstar cocktail on Friday night Shock

We are going to have to start rating the pornstars from now on me thinks!

Bellaby · 16/08/2010 16:33

Josie - isn't it an awful way to look at things.

Silly iPhone - I wrote that previous message about 4 hours ago!

Up until now I have been fairly relaxed about everything but listening to this fast paced chat has made me realize 2 things - I am getting impatient and I need to make an appointment to figure out what is going on rather than just waiting

Bellaby · 16/08/2010 16:35

Right. My mission for this week is to have a Pornstar cocktail

gardenpixie · 16/08/2010 16:37

Lanky a substandard pornstar cocktail? AWFUL! I don't know whether I have spotting or just a short luteal phase ... not sure how to tell the difference really. Have been slapping on wild yam cream to put off the FERTD so it might be that that's stopped it!

Oh it's gone 16:30 and I'VE DONE NO WORK Bad Garden, bad...

xx

JosieSmith1 · 16/08/2010 16:44

Garden I have done absolutely nothing lots of work today Grin

I get annoyed when someone asks me to do something and I'm busy on here Grin

LankyLegs · 16/08/2010 16:47

Garden I have heard of wild yam cream.... OMG why do we google so much?! Hope its worked for you - have you tried vit b6? That stopped my spotting and no only spot 1 day before full flow which is great. But not sure it works for all. I have not done anything either - although I HAVE perfected how to look busy oh yes I am VERY good at looking busy....

Bella that is a great mission of the week! Love it! If only babymaking mission was as easy!

Josie sorry my dear - we are not helping with all the inpatience are we. Will try and spread the room with serene calmness...

Karstan · 16/08/2010 16:48

Just updating the list, FERTD got me. A couple of days early as well, wasn't even expecting it. I've used CD0 for now as I'm pretty sure tomorrow will be what counts as first day of a new cycle.

Circumstances mean there probably won't be any SWI this cycle but I'm happy to stay on the list.

Josie and Lanky thanks ladies for making me feel better about not doing any work! I too have perfected the art of looking VERY busy, and in fact sorry I am too busy doing important things to do any more work ...! Glad to know am not the only one!

I haven't tried B6 but will certainly do it next cycle. My consultant is also going to give me industrial strength progesterone to make sure any clomid action is given a proper chance.

Karstan oh no. Are you OK? Horrid that it got you and doubly horrid that it snuck in early Sad Angry

CaveMum · 16/08/2010 17:07

karstan sorry to hear that ERTD snuck up on you.

lanky I have no idea what CAT stands for, but it is the thing you use if you want to contact another poster.
If you look at the far right pale blue bar that appears over someone's name when they post you will see it says "Contact Poster".

You have to enable CAT on your profile for other people to be able to privately contact you.

CaveMum · 16/08/2010 17:08

Blush I've just realised it is CAM, not CAT Blush
