Florin · 16/08/2010 09:04

flick we are both due for testing soon!!! What day are you going for it or are you going to try and wait it out?

crazybutterflylady · 16/08/2010 09:10

Morning all!

Not really anything to report here, just thought I would pop in and say hi, check for any more BFPs Grin

We had a drive around the Bedfordshire area yesterday and met some friends for lunch who have 2 mini ones, 18 months and 4 months Shock and it was lovely! We have decided to bring our move into the country 6 months forward and move in February next year - even if I get pg this month then I will only be 6 months by then which won't be THAT bad... hopefully. Just spending a day there made me want to move even more. Now we just have to decide between there and Cambridgeshire...Confused

Happy Monday to everyone, will pop in again after the gym

x

womanlytales · 16/08/2010 09:17

Hello ladies,
I am certainly with garden, lanky and felicity and florin with the whole...let's find out quickly whichever way it is with FERTD this month...It isn't the 2ww that's torture-- it's the +/- 5 days around FERTD...lol

Garden Great post on your consultant visit - am glad it all worked for you. A question on insulin resistance -- I have PCO and I was wondering what tests you went through to identify that you are insulin resistant. My GP had me do one blood test and he didn't call me back post receiving the results so I figure that I am not insulin resistant...but not sure. If I knew what we were measuring in my blood perhaps I can prod more to find out what my results were like and if I need to now prod my gp to act - LOL Sometimes it's so confusing with NHS if we need to do things proactively or if the GPs will actually follow up and help us get better....

Cavemum Glad you had a good trip at your parents' -- Hang in there - - I know personally how terrible the non-appearance of ERTD can be... have you been this late before? I have a feeling that ERTD is just around the corner for you..and hopefully after that it regularizes. Big hug and stay strong.

Bellaby it's been long since I saw a post from you ... I got to admit I only glance at the last page..and if it's been a really busy day for our frolickers then it means I miss out on much of the stuff...except for in the case of mrswajs when I went back and read the posts to follow each turn and twist. For those enquiring about mrswajs she is in the graduates list - so check out her updates there.

And yes - I lurk around the graudates list -- so that I can really whip up a self-pity / why not me / when is it going to be me - storm ... lol though got to say that off late my emotional binges have been really really in control. DH is out of country on work and it seems like I refuse to let go of myself lest I really go and jeopardize my weight loss goals... [btw I've lost 2.3kgs so far - woooo hoooo... on track for losing 14 kgs by 2011]

I've also been giving pregnology.com a pounding with trying each test with various permutation and combinations at least ten times... anything that will tell me - hey chick, you're pregnant and you were 2 weeks ago... LOL

I think the calculation of your pregnancy from the first day of your last ERTD is the real problem here... if we didn't do that, we'd not be thinking we're 2 wks pregnant when ovulation hasn't even happened....

So it's day 31 and I so WISH it were day 41 + a bfp...though reading mrswajs post in the graduate thread...I think the anxieties if anything only compound further till you get to that first scan, hear a beat and then as flo says it's all about having mini milestones.

So what's my mini milestone? Wednesday is day 33 I am thinking that is definitely a day by which if ERTD hasn't arrived I can say.... there you go time to test.
I also have my specialist appt on that day....so very anxious about that.
Then there's friday - CD35 -- once again...not sure if i should be testing by then... but I know I will be out of my mind by then.... there's also the case of ...what if it's just my system gone out of whack...it has happened to me in the past.. so it could happen again..

Sheer torture... what say?

Oh and did I mention I have no symptoms...did have ERTD symptoms on Thurs / Fri...but then they gradually went away... Do have a very MILD soreness in my breasts...but that's also an ERTD sign for me...
Usually I tend to overeat and bloat towards my ERTD...but this time that's also in control [Evil laugh - ha ha ha ha] - - pats herself on the back for this rare show of will power.

The sad part is I feel that post this longish post where I seem to be doing everything to get my hopes high... ERTD might just follow and I'll feel that I jinxed it somehow!

And so the madness continueth.

JosieSmith1 · 16/08/2010 09:18

Morning everyone.

If the early tests are to be believed I can test today, but I'm going to be brave and hang on until Thu/Fri when ERTD is due.

I thought I wasn't really bothered either way this month, but now I really can't wait!

Florin · 16/08/2010 10:30

josie I think quite a few of us are testing at the end of this week so at least we can all go through it together

pinklady76 · 16/08/2010 10:51

Morning ladies! Grin its monday but that just means its not long till tuesday! well thats how my wonky logic works!

florin and toria Well we went in mothercare and then promptly had a row about travel systems and the fact that i would spend more money but he being the tight arse (bless him) that he is wanted the cheapest ones regardless of how snuggly and nice they look! damn his practical nature!

Josie and all testing this week Hope the waiting doesnt get you all too down. am excited for you all Smile heres a porn star cocktail with some baby dust sprinkled on the top!

cave bless you and the 53 day cycle. Hang on in there. Maybe you have had a cycle with no FERTD. It's possible... hugs and cocktails for you too Grin

No news from me other than continuing SWIing in the pink household! Much fun! Wink

Hugs and waves to everyone else x

JosieSmith1 · 16/08/2010 11:08

Great florin, nice to know others are in the same boat! Good luck to everyone testing this weekend.
Thanks for the cocktail pink

Me and DH haven't argued about baby stuff yet but I know it's coming cos he's practical and money-saving, whereas I prefer the snuggly prettier things!

My friend asked me something interesting last time we went to Morthcare mecca - was I drawn more to girls things or boys things. I wouldn't mind either way if we had a boy or girl, or so I thought, but when she asked me that I realised I was drawn more to boys things, so maybe deep down I want a boy more. I've always liked the idea of an older boy who can look after his younger sister cos that's what me and my bro were like so maybe subconsciously I do prefer a boy first

JosieSmith1 · 16/08/2010 11:10

Morthcare Mothercare!

LankyLegs · 16/08/2010 11:41

Hello Frolickers!

How are we all?

I am going nuts - am 5 days late and on the longest cycle ever - keeping getting FERTD symptoms on and off but no sign of it yet. Its all a bit strange. Have tested the odd time and defo BFN so its all rather confusing. I don't feel up the duff at the slightest so am now really concerned as to why all of a sudden my cycles are going mental?

Sorry - had to get that off the chest!

*Flick& glad you made it back ok -and already done a day's work! Defo hard-core! Hope you enjoy the sleep and are not too jetlagged!

Womanly keeping my fingers crossed for you - not long now to see what the cycle will bring? And bloody well done on the weight loss! That's marvellous!!

Florin Sending you have some good vibes - finger crossed!

Cave am totally understand how you are feeling... why do our bodies do this?! Are you going to see the GP or are you going to wait longer?

Hey Bella hope you have settled in back from amazing trip! The best time to SWI can depend on cycle length my dear but from CD12 - CD20 if you have 28 day cycle etc - but this would cover basis fro cycles between 27-33 days.

Josie hope your 2WW is going well.

Hello to everyone else Garden, Crazy, Pink, Toria - p.s very impressed you are looking around in mothercare etc!

And Kaloki pleased ERTD arrived and cycles are back to normal - hurrah!

Ooh - we went to see the house again on Saturday and all very exciting but it needs sooo much work! Have priced up around £50k's worth of renovations already. The woman who lives there has not touched it in years (brown poo coloured bathroom suite) - and she has been smoking inside the house which smells! Still very exciting nonetheless!

TanteAC · 16/08/2010 11:47

Happy Monday, all!
Am excited for all those who are waiting to test and have some promising symptoms - good luck!

Had decided not to POAS this month, but getting tempted again (based on no physial symptoms Grin)

Well, had a fabulous weekend after a shitty day last week - we treated ourselves to dinner at Gordon Ramsay's restaurant in Chelsea - yummmmmmmmmmmmm! Need to eat soup for the next week both fat-wise AND financially! Cheered me up no end, though.

And then I got to play mum to my baby niece all weekend (DH and I sooo in role lol) which I did think might depress me a bit when they went but actually has made me much more positive - it is absolutely going to be worth fighting on for! Grin

I have my GP appt on Thursday when I am going to push for a referral to fertility specialist, getting kind of nervous about it and don't know why Confused

Lol at you all in Mothercare!!

crazybutterflylady · 16/08/2010 12:02

Hi hi!
cavey glad yopu went back to the house... you should be able to get rid of that smell in no time, I'm sure of it. Shame about the poo suite though - people make crazy decisions!!! I can't imagine why you would EVER choose a brown bathroom suite?? Also, do you have the contact a mumsnetter thing, because I have lots of questions (yes more!) about Cambs... if you don't mind...?

Lanky I feel your pain, that was me last month and I only got to day 36. It's very odd. TMI warning this month I am checking like crazy for the EWCM. Does anyone know if that means you are about to OV or whether you are?? I have read conflicting stuff and am confused as per usual.

Tante sounds like a lovely weekend, but can imagine it was hard when they went home :(

x

Toriajayne · 16/08/2010 12:08

Happy Monday everyone!

Pink ah see we're the opposite, he's already told me he wants a Recaro car seat, a backpack style carrier for taking off walking, some high performance, does the dishes for you buggy that he can walk round forests with and countless other "outdoors" things

Womanly Well done on the weightloss, very impressive :)

Josie and everyone else testing this week, fingers crossed.

Lanky Very exciting about the house, we recently went through all that and are finally sitting back and enjoying he benefits all the hard work Grin

crazybutterflylady · 16/08/2010 12:08

Ok I am going insane, sorry Lanky, I know see I was reading your post and thnking of cavey's house. Ignore me. I have cardio brain :)

crazybutterflylady · 16/08/2010 12:13

now/know/no... argh

TanteAC · 16/08/2010 12:48

Lol@ crazy

Ooo toria your OH is well into all the gadgets, eh? Love it!

I was surprised that I didn't find it hard when they left, tbh, it just gave me a real boost, bizarrely! Seeing DH doing the nightfeed, us both coping with the whole scenario and enjoying it just made me excited and determined!

TMI, but it meant that DH got some serious action last night Wink

Obv now we have been taking about where we would put all the baby stuff in our teeny house, or should we move WHEN I am pregnant etc. Rightmove is our Mothercare Grin

I wonder what would be on a 'List of things ttc couples do that no-one else does/are insane'?! Any suggestons to begin?

x

Karstan · 16/08/2010 13:01

My sister moved when she was 4 months pregnant. They'd hoped to move before she was pregnant but conceived very quickly but she now says she'd aim to be pregnant for the next house move too! She coordinated and everyone else did the work.

Think OH will be the one desperate to spend money on things in this house too, whereas I will be doing a cost/benefit analysis on everything Grin

Toriajayne · 16/08/2010 13:12

LOL @ crazy

Tante Gadgets is right, not sure if it's growing up in Orkney (technology is somewhat behind the times), doing a degree in electrical engineering, being a tech teacher or somehing else but sometimes I think we live on the Star Trek Enterprise. He also has a strange fascination with blue LEDs so if he can find a travel system/car seat/monitor with those on it he'll be a happy bunny lol.

That sounds lovely btw, I always get mushy when I see OH with babies :)

As for things TTC couple do that are insane, I think the biggest for us atm is convincing people I'm drinking when I'm not, as I'm known for my alcohol tolerance and people will start asking questions (the last time I got tattooed I was off the booze at the weekly pub quiz and everyone's first question was if I was pregnant) and we just don't want to answer them! Others obviously include bum on a pillow after sex, counting everything you can possibly count (OH actually asked me last night when I can take a test, this is the man who has been he advocate of waiting to TTC for over a year now) and symptom spotting (dry mouth, needing the loo, not needing the loo, sleeping, not sleeping, itchy feet...)

JosieSmith1 · 16/08/2010 13:23

One night after SWIing I started waving my legs in the air and giggling, DH asked what I was doing and I shouted in a baby-ish voice 'I'm making baaaabbiiiiiees'

hangs head in shame

Florin · 16/08/2010 13:32

No discussion about pushchairs in our house. I really want a phil and teds with the carry cot. Dh even tried out someones when we were at a party and loves it too. We are really active and outdoor types so should suit us. We look after my goddaughter who had a bugaboo and we both hate the bloody thing. Even caught dh talking to his male friend about the features he didn't like on it which was quite funny.
I am not symptom spotting as always think I have some and then not pregnant so I reckon will just wait until I do a pregnancy test on Friday morning. Then we are away with friends from early the sat morning. They are our best friends who we are extremely close to so if I was we would tell them immediately anyway and if i am not they will commiserate with me!

pinklady76 · 16/08/2010 13:42

How funny josie just choked on my tea! I did a similar thing and put my bum in the air after (sorry tmi) and dp said to stop being stupid and i said i had to give my baby the best chance and he just rolled his eyes at me!

toria OMG our men are quite similar then sort of! My dp is very outdoorsy ( done a ray mears course and everything!) and he wants a backpack carry thingy for baby and a three wheeler so we can off road it! but he doesnt want to spend the money. He said if its my money its ok! I rolled my eyes at him and carry on thinking about snuggly cute baby stuff Grin

LankyLegs · 16/08/2010 13:44

Crazy it's Monday - you are allowed to get confused. Hell I have done a lot worse! Your move sounds very exciting as well :) So nice when you have chose an area and are happy with it. Must be very exciting. We spent the best part of a year on rightmove looking for properties so we felt like we really knew what section of the town we wanted to be in and also what we should expect for our money!

Tante I have done that with my niece before - very cute - although we felt a bit like frauds as we were taking the baby out in the pram etc - and feeling very proud and then thought - hangon lets not get carried away - hard not too! However - how yummy was your dinner?! We are off to Galvin at Windows on Saturday for MrLanky's birthday - can't wait. Love an excuse for a good dinner out!

Florin Buggies!! DH refuses to buy the bugaboo as EVERYONE has it - and hates anything that might be a fad etc. He wont even let me get an iphone! I quite like the phil and teds too - a lot more easier to manoeuvre. I can't wait to buy all that sort of stuff!!

So guys what do we think? My cycles have been pretty regular for the last year - the longest cycle I ever had was 31 days and that was back in March. Should I be worrying about this cycle already being at CD 34? Am seeing the GP tomorrow for thyroid related things so will bring it up then. I am secretly hoping I am pregnant but I really don't have any symptoms whatsoever.

Why oh why is this so time consuming!! I am starting a new role over the next couple of weeks too which is going to be a lot more responsibility/stress and was hoping I would have been pregnant by now. 11 months later and not even a whiff of a BFP :(

CaveMum · 16/08/2010 13:45

Chatty bunch today aren't we!

Thanks to all for the good ERTD wishes. As I only came off the Pill in May I don't think I can justify a visit to the Doctors for at least another 2 or 3 months. I've been on the Agnus Castus for 2 weeks now so I guess I need to give it more time to kick in!

crazy I don't think I've activated the Mumsnet member contact yet but will look into it - I'm posting on my iPhone at the mo.

Pink [big hug] happy SWIing Week! We've done the Mothercare thing too, but we stand outside for a few minutes just to make sure no one we know is around to see us going in! We also have a backup plan to tell anyone that does see us that one of our friends has just had a baby and were looking for a present!

crazybutterflylady · 16/08/2010 13:46

Mr Crazy has decided he wants this buggy. He does a lot of triathlons so runs a lot. I have caved in because he said "saturday morning... baby in buggy, Mrs Crazy in bath, off we go for a few hours to give you some peace". SOLD!
But I'll get another buggy for me to use, obviously...!

Haven't found anywhere in the UK that stocks them yet though - We'll try a bit harder when/if we get pg!

LankyLegs · 16/08/2010 13:48

OMG - you can get an buggy for anything! I would not have even thought you can get a buggy for triathlon training!
