I have been with OH for 12 years too and we have been married for 6 months. He's been working away for 18 months but will hopefully be moving back soon. There are some pluses of being on your own in the week!
AF is due 20th and I am going to try and wait till the 22nd. Are you testing before or after your FA due date?

CaveMum · 11/08/2010 21:14

Florin it is never easy but is one of those things you get used to. DH has been in the RAF ever since we met so I don't know any different!

On the twins thing, do you keep getting the "oh you'll probably have twins" comment? My mum is a twin, I have twin cousins plus other random twin relations so people find it really funny to make the comments to me!

Are you identical twins? People used to find it really hard to tell my mum and her sister apart but I could never understand their confusion! It was always obvious to me which was which! Plus they have different hair and dress sense these days!

gardenpixie · 11/08/2010 21:30

Hi Cave sorry I didn't realise you weren't on base. Doubly hard then...

MrsWajs · 11/08/2010 21:39

womanly I think I'm joining you in the pit this evening, feel like FERTD is en route and am a bit weepy, add to that the feeling that I could rip someones face off, for no apparent reason - it's not a good combo!!

Blah. :(

I'm annoyed as I have been really trying hard to diet on slimming world but have realised the massive pack of chicken I've been munching on all day was not syn free. SO I've probably put on3lb, not pregnant and miserable!

Toriajayne · 11/08/2010 22:01

I am clearly alone in that my DH is quite often not here (scouts, school trips, DofE, walking, climbing, camping, the list goes on) and I'm pretty sure that's why I haven't killed him yet hehehe. I kid, though I do enjoy having the bed to myself sometimes :) Though having said that he's currently with his folks and not popular as I appear to be ovulating early this month and he wont be home 'til tomorrow night when we'll have his parents, my elderly aunt and my grandmother staying, not conducive to babymaking...

Cave I know a few forces children, and as someone else said, it's always been harder on the spouses than the children from what I've seen.

Florin · 11/08/2010 22:17

Cave I am a non identical twin (have a twin sister) so the kind that run in families whereas identical twins don't although we have those in our family too! To be honest when planning to have children the chance of having twins has always played in our minds so we have allowed for that possibility. I don't mind either way if we have them or not as there are advantages (and disavantages)to both but I know when I eventually do get pregnant and go for a scan the first question we will ask is how many! My Aunties are identical however I have never had an issue. Interesting though I have a godaughter who is 3 who I know very well however my sister doesn't however when godaughter met my sister without me being there she just kept running after her calling my name. My twin and I IMO look very different however our voices are identical not even my dad or our husbands can tell us apart on the phone, my mum can because of what we say but would could easily fool her too!
Marmite we all have bad days with food(although I seem to have more bad than good!!!)although as long as its not KFC chicken how bad can chicken be?

DessieLou · 11/08/2010 22:50

Marmite - I have just polished off an entire tub of Ben and Jerry's...so a bit of chicken can't be that bad, eh?! Admittedly I feel a little sick and will no doubt spend the next 24hrs feeling extremely guilty!
Could you help me out with a couple of abbreviations? Possibly being daft but what does 2ww and AF mean? They're not on the acronyms page.
So nice to have you girls to talk rubbish to, I've always felt a bit of a fraud looking on parenting/baby sites!
And thanks Garden, will let you know how I get on at the docs.

Toriajayne · 11/08/2010 22:56

2WW is the 2 Week Wait, the two weeks (approx) from ovulation to the day your period is due, so the time you have to wait to find out if you've conceived. AF is Aunt Flo, your period, also known as the ERTD, Evil Red Tide of Doom (a new one to me since finding this place, one which has made me chuckle a lot) HTH (hope that helps :) )

DessieLou · 11/08/2010 23:32

Thanks Toriajayne 2ww is pretty obvious now you've said it but would never have got Aunt Flo!

morning all
Can DessieLou, Marmite and Tante confirm their stats so we can update the list please Grin and welcome to you all!

We have so many due to POAS, it's very exciting! Fingers crossed for you all!!

Sorry to hear cavey and womanly are feeling a bit lonely :( I heard someone getting a birthday message on the radio this morning from their DH in Afghanistan and I was in tears. I don't know how people do it; they have my total admiration.

I would pass you some dairy milk but Mr Crazy ate it ALL last night, a big bar! I wouldn't mind but I had specially bought him the one with dried flies in because I don't like them. He ate the plain one instead!

Happy Thursday to you all... just one more day then the weekend yahoooo! xx

Florin · 12/08/2010 08:55

Morning all!
thanks crazy for doing list! I finally feel like I am moving nearer to the top. Who is testing this weekend?
My dh also ate a huge bar of dairy milk he said we could share it but gave me two squares and looked at me in horror when I ate the last square (my third) greedy bugger had eaten all the rest. off out for a nice dinner in London tonight can't wait!

crazybutterflylady · 12/08/2010 09:07

Morning florin... you are near the top now... i hope you did your duty in the SWI days :) I have started early just incase - not sure when I should be OV this month. Am starting to consider getting something to work out when I am if I don't get a BFP this month (not that I am impatient or anything, she says, after 1 full cycle) - what do you guys think is best, the POAS type or charting??

Where are you going for dinner...? Lucky you! Are you going to have a naughty glass of plonk? x

JosieSmith1 · 12/08/2010 09:26

Morning everyone.

I thought I was moving closer to the top of the list! I'm assuming that's as I'm nearer testing time? Exciting!

I still don't 'feel' pregnant though, I'm convinced that if I was I would know by now.

Regarding clothes etc, I'm very lucky in that my best mate is just as obsessed excited as I am (for me not her, she isn't trying until next year) so we've had many a shopping trip to Mothercare Mecca as she calls it! It's huge, but I feel stupid when there's all these obviously pregnant women and me and my friend are like sticks!

One more thing, DH and I have been watching a tv series, and guess what, the main women character found out she was pregnant last night! I almost came straught on here to rant!

gardenpixie · 12/08/2010 10:47

Morning all,

Thanks crazy for doing the list! I am not going to POAS until next weekend as I think this cycle is going to be more a 35 / 36 day one rather than a 30 dayer. I feel absolutely nothing though so doubt I'll be getting an August BFP. Which is slightly scary as if not, I'll be starting on Clomid. Kind of excited about that though as well.

Hope everyone is having a good Thurs so far!

Smile
crazydayz · 12/08/2010 11:23

Hi all,

I'm a newbie and having spent a while reading your thread feel that I have at last found a thread with like-minded people on it :)! My stats for the list are Cycle 2 CD4 UCL 24-28

Florin · 12/08/2010 12:02

crazy we did swi I think on the right days managed every day apart from 2 between days day 9 and 19 I think. So at least this month I feel we have tried our best other months we have always missed important days due to one of us being ill or something.
We are off to the restaurant at the white chapel gallery in aldgate no idea what it's like it's for a family birthday and all paid for so that is good. I live in the country near London but don't work in London anymore so really enjoy going up every so often for a night out. Will def have a glass of 2 of wine when I first started ttc to I gave it up in the 2ww but now I have decided I can't put my life on hold each month.
I tried temping for one month but found I got obsessed and it wasn't healthy. I figure if we swi everyday I don't need to as covering all bases!
garden I am poas next fri as want to know if I'm pregnant before going on hols on the sat and if I can drink! So we will be doing it around the same time!
crazydayz welcome to the tread , I am on iPhone so can't add you on but I am sure someone will be along in a bit who can.

MrsWajs · 12/08/2010 12:24

Day 40 in the wajs house and I am going crazy!! Why won't something hapen already.......grrrrrrr!!

Really thought FERTD was on it's way and still nothing. Don't feel remotely pregnant and can't test until Saturday - which feels like a million years away. Even then I know it will say negative!! :(

According to my charting website I am now 7 days late (based on an avergae 32 day cycle) I'm so fed up!!! Might make Drs appointment tomorrow if still nothing, even though I know they'll tell me to go away and come back again in a weeks time if still no FERTD.

Sorry I'm being so self-absorbed this week I just can't focus on anything at all. :(

OP posts:
TanteAC · 12/08/2010 12:33

Afternoon, all!
Can someone let me know what the stats stand for? Am stoopid Blush

I get UCL (usual cycle length)so does CD mean cycle day, as in which day of my cycle I am on?

I can't measure UCL (FERTD does not even deign to pay me a visit Confused) and tbh I have been half-assed with the temp-taking because the lack of any kind of sense made my head hurt and depression happen!

Also was keen to not get too obssessed in the beginning (har har, not successful!)

Until I get this sorted with doc/meds, we may have to just make it up....

I test on 15th of each month (no biological reason but is payday, so more conducive to buying myself something cheery-uppy when it's a negative!)

Sorry crazybutterflylady, that was not much help!
Have always been an awkward bugger...Grin

crazybutterflylady · 12/08/2010 12:36

Hi MrsW hope you are feeling better generally today. I know exactly how you feel, that was me last month! Make the appointment - if nothing else it might bring on FERTD in a sod's law type way :) I found I just wanted to know one way of the other, it's enough to drive us crazy I think.

When was your last test, can't you try again tomorrow morning??

Florin I am keeping everything crossed for you testing tomorrow, let us know! Well done on the SWIing... I am finding that part difficult because I don't want to feel like we are only doing it to make a baby... even though we both know we are - if that makes sense, especially because my dates are all up the spout after last month's long cycle... at the same time I know if we just get on and keep SWIing then it is more likely to happen... but argghhh... Confused maybe I am overthinking as usual

Welcome crazydayz :)

Kaloki · 12/08/2010 12:37

Quick me me me post (sorry)

You know I'm on anti-biotics for the cervix inflammation? Well thanks to them, I now have thrush.

I want my genitals to work again!!!!

crazybutterflylady · 12/08/2010 12:37

Tante should we add you to the not counting days section, just so you are on the list? x

TanteAC · 12/08/2010 12:43

Yes please!
Sorry to be awkward! Blush
