Oh no do you think there is a virtual tummy bug going round? I am feeling rubbish today although I have no work to do so will mostly be sitting in hammock reading trashy books doing the housework diligently.

And I have to confess to taking anticipated impending Hmm pg into account when buying new things. EVEN new shoes. Yes, like a total loser, I caught myself thinking "best not get those enormous heels as you won't want to wear them when you're pg with twins." Where did the twins thought even come from? Where? Where? Ergh.

Off to look for my sanity ... Smile

crazybutterflylady · 11/08/2010 12:24

Hehe embarrassingly enough garden I did think "now who was it that had a tummy bug recently, could I have caught it from them?"... then realised it was MrsWajs Blush

I should be staying in bed really (Mr Crazy tells me), but I want to sit in MY hammock reading MY trashy books. Why can't I?! I also want to walk to Sainsburys and get some Dairy Milk for lunch even though I know this is a bad bad bad idea when you have a poorly tummy.

I nodded my head reading your shoes statement, oh how I nodded. What has happened to us all!

x

JosieSmith1 · 11/08/2010 12:27

Well my friend just messaged me to say her cousin (the one who went into labour yesterday) has had a baby girl after a 25 hour labour.

I thought I wasn't too bothered whether or not I got pg this month, but sod it, I waaaant one!

MrsWajs · 11/08/2010 12:31

Oh-oh - have I been spreading my germs across MN??? Ooopsie!

I did try and keep a low profile....

Unless you're currently simultaneously throwing your guts up so hard you think you might lose your small intestine AND desperately needing the loo, then you don't have what I had crazy - it was BRUTAL!! (TMI??)

However, I fully agree that had you not just had FERTD, it would indeed be a good case for thinking you were preggers!

And just cus I'm nosey, do they do a spinning class in you office??

OP posts:
crazybutterflylady · 11/08/2010 13:06

Haha no not IN my office but at the gym nearby. I just keep a set of trainers/shower stuff etc at work so I don't have to lug it in each time... So I go to the office first. Sorry that's me thinking you all know exactly what I am talking about at all times when actually about 80% of the time I leave half the information in my head!

I don't think I had what you had then MrsW - sounds horrid. Hope your intestine remained intact Shock

TanteAC · 11/08/2010 15:21

Lol at the shoes and clothes comments! And defo at garden and the twins!

I don't actually do this, because in my head I can just wear the same clothes - ok, not my jeans - but all dresses etc that don't have a cinched-in waist. Surely my close fitting but stretchy clothes will just expand with my bump? And any floaty dresses will just accommodate my neat little stomach? And it's not like your feet get preggers, right?

raspberrytipple · 11/08/2010 18:50

God, I'm getting obsessed too, last night i went through baby name websites making a list of names I liked and storing them on my iphone!!! We are all going slowly mad......

DessieLou · 11/08/2010 19:02

Hello girls. Karstan very kindly pointed me in your direction. Just had a quick look through your posts and although I am not yet up on all the MN code sounds like you are all as crackers as me!
I have a few gorgeous dresses that will fabulous with a baby bump and I even have a stash of baby clothes and a secret book with my favourite names written in it! Yes, I am obsessed.
My periods are really irregular so completely confused about all the cycle malarky. Will be making an appointment at docs tomorrow to discuss and hopefully get my head round it!
Nice to meet you all.

raspberrytipple · 11/08/2010 19:49

Hi dessielou, welcome aboard, I haven't been here too long but everyone is lovely and really helpful and we are all equally obsessed I think but it's all good!! X

Toriajayne · 11/08/2010 19:50

Not done shoes yet, but then my shoes tend to be very uninspiring anyway as I can only walk in heels for ten minutes or so before my stupid flat feet start screaming for mercy. Anyway, back from my tangent. As for names, before we even thought about trying we had names picked. Oh yes. My DH even seems to think we will conceive this month, because that's how he planned it, and that we'll have a boy, we'll then try again in a few years, and we'll have a girl, then we'll be perfect. I have tried to tell him it rarely works like that but since his mother can sneeze and fall pregnant and in fact planned her sons down to the week he finds that somewhat hard to grasp. Oh look, another massive tangent. Clearly actually going mad this time... Oh, and I have a perpetual calendar for the nursery as well Blush

DessieLou Welcome to the mad house. I'm new too, this is my first month TTC number 1 and the ladies here have all been fabulous :)

gardenpixie · 11/08/2010 20:08

DessieLou welcome Smile

I think it's safe to say we are all bonkers so don't worry about any nuttiness! Good luck with the Drs appt - definitely good to get it sorted though because working out your cycle makes it much easier to obsess about dates stay on top everything.

Hope everyone is having a good Wednesday.

I just went to the pub and had a glass of wine and a woman was in there with a little girl. The woman dropped her handbag and loads of stuff fell out; the little girl said "mummy can I help you pick everything up" and the woman snapped "it's MAY I, not can I." Wow. Clearly suffering from bug-up-arse syndrome. Poor little girl was really upset. I wanted to take her home but Mr Garden said I wasn't allowed ... something about the police, blah blah blah

womanlytales · 11/08/2010 20:14

Hello, am feeling the blues as I am beginning to recognize the signs of impending fertd.... and then closely behind the despair of if I will ever get a bfp. Am also all alone tonight and am my own worst enemy. I know feeling all this is rubbish and still I give in.... hope the night out watching les mis will help mebe strong

Florin · 11/08/2010 20:18

Oh we have talked about names already boys name has been picked for ages as a family name. Got a short list of girls names all quite similar to each other. My dh has bought me lots of bras recently he has a bit of an obsession with buying them (weird I know!) anyway I have said to stop as if I get pregnant my boobs will grow instantly as any change of hormones make then grow so much and even after having baby you never know what size you will be and I will have millions of bad fitting bras! Found out why girl at work was so horrid and moody to me yesterday she has her af (it's not her FERTD in her case as she def doesn't want to get pregnant) made me really cross because if I can keep it together when it arrives and it means so much more to me she should definitely be able to without making everyone elses life a misery!

CaveMum · 11/08/2010 20:19

Evening ladies!

Welcome Dessielou we are indeed crackers a lovely bunch!

garden bless the little girl. Mr Garden probably had a point though!

It is DHs birthday today so I've been feeling a bit crap about us not being together. I must admit it has given me more than a bit of a wobble as to whether this is a good situation to bring children into. DH has about 6 years left in and I suppose by the time we actually have kids they will still be too young to actually notice/remember. I just have to keep reminding myself that plenty of other people in our situation handle it without any problems.

gardenpixie · 11/08/2010 20:20

womanly I am sorry you are feeling down. It is awful in a slow, creeping way and I hate the way the bad feelings jump on you when you're alone too. Do you have any plans for your you time evening?

CaveMum · 11/08/2010 20:22

Crossed post with womanly, sorry you are feeling down. Please join me in a large slice of cake and gallon glass of vino collapso.

(((hugs)))

gardenpixie · 11/08/2010 20:22

Cavey did you say Mr Cave is in the forces? Sorry if I missed you saying what he does ...

CaveMum · 11/08/2010 20:29

Sorry garden, there's me waffling on and totally forgot that people may not know what DH does!

Yes he is in the RAF. He lives away during the week at the moment so we only see each other at weekends.
We're waiting on news of his new posting, which will happen next Jan/Feb. For a while it looked like he would be off to Afghan for 6 months (thus ruining the ttc plans) but now it looks like he'll be staying in the UK but will still have to live away during the week.

Florin · 11/08/2010 20:30

womanly sorry you are feeling down, treat yourself to a glass of vino and some chocolate or cheese whatever makes you feel better. But remember it's not over till it's over.
cave you do so well staying strong when you are on your own during the week his birthday must be particularly difficult. I am sure it will all be worth it in the end though. You can use the time to obsess research babies, nursery decoration, prams etc that always makes me feel better and really excited!

Florin · 11/08/2010 20:34

Oh forgot so say welcome dessielou we are all crazy here and baby obsessed so it's a fun place to be!

gardenpixie · 11/08/2010 20:34

Cave I only asked because I grew up in a forces family and my brother is in the army too. I think it's harder on the mothers than the kids - I remember times when my dad was "abroad" but mostly I remember there being a great community of kids to play with on base and fab schools. My brother's girls feel the same. So I wouldn't be too worried about bringing up a little person but I can totally understand it must be hard on you. My brother has spent a lot of time in Afghanistan and I am constantly on edge until he gets back - very difficult for his wife. Do you have a supportive network of RAF wives and partners? Great news that Mr Cave looks like he'll be staying in the UK though x

Ilovemarmite79 · 11/08/2010 20:43

Can I join you thread please. I am TTC #1 and this is cycle 1 - currently in 2WW. I don't hold out much hope as like others DH works away in the week so opportunities are limited. Good luck to everyone x

gardenpixie · 11/08/2010 20:52

Hello marmite and welcome! Smile

Florin · 11/08/2010 21:08

Welcome marmite I'm in the 2ww wait to, I hate it as it's just so frustrating not knowing. When are you due to test? I am trying to wait until next Friday 20 aug see if I last that long!
Have a lot of respect for you girls on your own In the week. I find spending time away from dh really hard. We have been together since we have been 15 (12 years) and married for 2 and I miss him so much even when I am at work and still get silly excited when I know I am going to see him again. To be honest I generally think I am crap being on my own I am a twin (twins run through every generation of my family!!!) so went from always having my twin there to then always having dh there so never learnt to be on my own!

CaveMum · 11/08/2010 21:08

Hi marmite welcome to the mad house!

Garden the problem is that we don't live on a base. We own a house here in Suffolk and I live here (because my job is local) and DH lives in the Mess during the week. DH doesn't want me to give up my job to follow him around because a) he wants to come out in a few years and b) I have a good career here and am lucky that I get a good salary. There's no way I could do a similar job (it's very specific) anywhere else in the country and certainly wouldn't get one as well paid as I have few qualifications - I've worked my way up through the company to get where I am now.

Anyway, must stop dwelling on the negatives and think about the positives!
