Well, my dd is getting 2 fully furnished luxury apartments, one in Rome and one in Mustique (next door to Mick, dontchaknow); as well as the usual gubbins - last year's Grand National winner for instance, you know the sort of thing.

oh yeah i'm not saying everyone on here is really buying toys every week, just that the people i know in rl, who say they dont spend alot at christmas spend shed loads throughout the year, although perhaps thats more sensible really
well not the shedloads part but just spreading it out.

dd is only 2.5 at xmas though and as ive said previous years shes not had much, so its all new to me really.
perhaps next year i'll be older and wiser

if i had the money id get your dd that wheelchair riven

TheFallenMadonna · 14/11/2009 19:29

Don't know. No idea at all

DH saw an advert for bop-it on the television this morning and though they might like that.

Some lego for DS (8) probably.

DD (5) - um...

ThePhantomPlopper · 14/11/2009 19:51

DS 3.9

Tesco wooden train set.
Scooter.
Train to go with train set.

small stocking filler stuff.

DD 22mo.

Massive George stuffed toy.
Massive Peppa stuffed toy.
Books.

small stocking filler stuff.

Have been very restrained this year, but they will no doubt be spoilt rotten by the rest of the family.

DS - (nearly 7) A lego coastguard set (bit of a bargain at toysrus compared to everywhere else) and a few bits of sciencey and lego type small toys picked up at Tesco over the last few months that came to less than than £10 in total.

DD1 (3.5) A playmobil playground, Emily Brown book, small board game, Christmas cracker and a packet of crisps (the last two being the things she has asked for.

DD2 (15 months now) - a doll so as to ease the strain on dd1 who is good at sharing but getting a bit tired of it. A pack of 4 euro finger puppets, broken up and wrapped individually.

The older two will get a present each from the pils and their godmother, and then clothes from my family.

Their stockings will have chocolate coins, raisins, satsumas and crayons/markers ...

I don't buy presents outside Christmas and birthdays though dh will sometimes.

I think Riven is right about the way small ones react to presents. DD1 got a buggy when she was one and a scooter last year with very little else but they are still played with by all 3 dc.

doggiesayswoof · 14/11/2009 20:24

DD (5)

Still struggling over main present

Couple of books
Torch
Useful stuff in stocking like pants, toothbrush, bubble bath, felt tips, cereal variety pack, chocolate coins

GPs usually get clothes and a little toy, auntie getting her a new barbie

DS (18 mo)

Buggy with a baby to go in it

Aquadraw or scribbler of some sort
Peppa pig books
Useful stuff in stocking (toothbrush, new cup etc)

Really don't know what to get as DD's 'big' present - she wants a DS but she's not getting one.

doggiesayswoof · 14/11/2009 20:25

And the only thing I've bought are the books

mysteryfairy · 14/11/2009 20:39

The Sylvanian families stuff is age 4+ so not really approriate for a 2.5 yr old. My DD who is 7 is getting the caravan (with a lot less other stuff) so I've had a good look. There is no way I'd give it to a 2.5 year old - far too fragile and with lots of little bits.

carriedababi · 14/11/2009 20:52

my dd has been into sylvanians for ages, she loves them.
i go with my own instincts rather than manufacters cover their own arses guidelines

she only has the small bits when highly supervised, but she mixes the happyland and sylvanian stuff together
see the sylvanians at the fair pic on profile if you want

shockers · 14/11/2009 21:02

A four in one games table (pool, ping pong, air hockey and table football) between the two of them.
Puzzles, books and games.
DD has asked for a doll but it's her birthday VERY close to Christmas so I've got her the Roby little brother doll with a couple of outfits.

All currently waiting in the attic for the big day!

shockers · 14/11/2009 21:04

scatty the radio flyer wagon is great for carting your tent and stuff from the car at festivals!

mysteryfairy · 14/11/2009 21:14

Thought your DD had only just got into toys?

carriedababi · 14/11/2009 21:17

yeah playing with them on her own every day

OP posts:
TeenyTinyToria · 14/11/2009 21:18
