these are the presents from us, mum and dad, mil and fil, and aunts uncles on myside

im not sure what her great grandparents are going to get her, or her great aunt and uncle on dhs side
they usually get clothes

even though i've brought all that, i would still like to get dd some duplo, elc keyboard, drum, ITNG stamps, stencils, and stickers.
but i paid for all the bits i've brought her from money i made on ebay, so ive used up all my paypal funds for now.

That is loads for her to get through on christmas day - 80% of her day will be spent unwrapping!

I've got my DD (4):

A bike (£34 from Additions using money off code)

Baby Alive (Again from Additons using money off code, so very cheap)

Remote control Tinkerbell

and about 5 or six cheap books from Play.com

TabithaTwitchet · 14/11/2009 15:31

DD (2) will be getting from us:

Wooden train and track
Hairy Maclary books
New pyjamas

Plus a stocking with things like knickers(perhaps getting a bit ahead of myself here, but hoping to excite her into potty training), crayons, colouring book, chocolate buttons, satsuma, bubble bath etc.

Don't know what her grandparents, aunts or uncles are getting her.

muggglewump · 14/11/2009 15:39

DD(8) is getting a pair of rats and all the gumph they need, a watch, a Polly Pocket thing and clothes/PJ's.

I'll ask my Aunt for clothes for her, my Uncle for crafty stuff as he likes buying toys rather than practical stuff, and I'm asking my Dad for a camera as a family gift to both of us.

SolosScrapingUpForXmas · 14/11/2009 15:40

I bought Dd a dressing gown in the Matalan reductions back in the spring, but I am not sure it'll fit her now

I am making both Ds and Dd personalised fleece blankets for their beds.

If I have time, I may make Dd a hat and scarf set.

Will try to buy(or get from freecycle)a book or two for Ds as he loves reading.

That's it!

carriedababi · 14/11/2009 16:13

pts, thats okay, i don't take what you say that way

i'm not bothered if she doesn't open it all that day dh has quite a good amount of time off work about 10days i think, or if theres things she doesn't like, as like i say i'll just sell it on.

i realise it is alot of stuff, but i think it looks like even more as ive listed things from both sets of gps and aunts and uncles too.

only bad though is im getting more ideas from this thread.

it's quite an over whelming amount to open for anyone..
..and store
take your point if you are buying and selling things on but it's loads what if you cant top that one year?

ds 5
guitar
dressing gown..he covets mine!
books varied and several
some other assorted small fun stuff
something else i cant remember technological

relatives - big lego set, headphones..mystery!

the day out thing is a good idea

IdrisTheDragon · 14/11/2009 16:28

DS (very nearly 6) is getting the Lego Police Station

DD (4) is getting This cat but a bit cheaper hopefully.

They will also both get stocking things - necklace and bracelet set (DD), chocolate coins, satsuma, little silly things, pencils, sweets and some books.

Other relations will get things - DD has said she would like a barbie doll and some clothes and DS has mentioned wanting a toy dog so may steer them that way. I am sure DD would love sylvanian families but they are so expensive, even second hand.

PDR · 14/11/2009 16:33

DS (18 months)

So far:

Duplo
Handy Manny singing toolbox (used £25 offer last week)
Ride on car thingy
Outfit from baby Gap (used VIP 30% off)
Snowglobe
Want to get a few noisy books as well as he is really into these at the mo!

Friends/family have bought:
ELC Pirate Ship
Work Bench
Humphrey's Corner outfit

Just made £150 selling old things on ebay so do not feel bad at all!

carriedababi · 14/11/2009 16:36

idris, someone on here got aload of sylvainians off freecycle the otherday.
i think it might have been mrs badger.

aura, im not worried about trying to top it next year or even give the same amount, i will probably get dd quite a bit on her birthday in june as she will have outgrown her playthings in the garden and i'd like to get her a big tramploine and a tp swing slide skyride set.
but next christmas i'll just see what see wants/needs, won't be trying to spend x amount.

OP posts:
carriedababi · 14/11/2009 16:40

oh it was bumper not mrsb.
very good find though.

MrsJohnDeere · 14/11/2009 16:41

carriedababi - I'm quite flabbergasted at the amount of stuff you are getting.

Mine (3.7, 22mo at Christmas) will be getting:

a toy garage between them
yet more Matchbox cars (5 per child)
few Playmobil bits (ds1)
lots of books
couple of dvds
soft toy dragon (ds2)

Can't think of anything else they might want or need. I bought too much last year and felt quite sick at the ridiculousness of it all when I put the huge pile of gifts under the tree.

I will get him a few more bits in the next few weeks.

DS2 has so far got sod all, im struggling to get him things, he had his birthday last week so we gotim stuff for that! He will get PJs and some DVDs but my mum is getting hm a huge train table and trains so im not sure what big preseant to get him!

carriedababi · 14/11/2009 17:08

titsalina, do you buy stuff throughout the year?
ie not xmas and birthdays?
i find most people i know with children dd age have more toys in the house as they have older brothers and sisters and get things passed down.
and uptill now i haven't really brought her much at all.

OP posts:
insertwittynicknameHERE · 14/11/2009 17:11

I buy other peoples pressies during the year than after the family holiday (Sep) i start buying CVhristmas bits, most of its stuff thats on sale. probably spend to much and they get spoilt but i got the same treatment at xmas growing up and i know the value of money and how to save and budget so hopefully im not damaging them!

carriedababi · 14/11/2009 17:17
