Thread 2 - the one where I try to get organised

[Reastie]

Hope I'm not tempting fate with that thread title
This is intended as a friendly, kind, safe, warm and fuzzy place for people to share discounts, bargains and Christmas gift ideas both online and IRL. Please note the tone and intention of the thread and join with spirit as generous as DC helping themselves to the Christmas chocolate celebrations .

You are all wonderful and I’m now going back to my mince pie and stollen (never too early!).

I'm looking for Sony wireless headphones, if anyone has seen any deals

Absolutely not dull. I ALWAYS ask for something practical for the house that I generally wouldn't want to cough up fir during the year. In recent years we have gotten an airfryer, a robot vacuum etc.

Not dull at all!

I'm actually looking for sheets & towels for my ex-DH! He's just bought a bigger bed & is having his bathroom re-done, and he knows he won't buy any, so has suggested our DC be nudged in that direction 🤣 - DS22 & DS19 will NOT know where to begin, so I'll do it 😆. We get on well (co-parented for 17 years) so not an outrageous ask.

Lidl had a dual toasted sandwich maker in store today.

@Mumbythesea1 a few years ago I Father Christmas brought me a funky new bathmat and the kids still talk about how happy I was that Christmas day 🤣 don't think it's sad at all!

This year I've asked for a toothbrush 😂

@MonkeyMaze101 I very much hope you get it!

I gave up asking. I buy the things I want and put them out ready for Christmas morning like the elves brought them overnight

And @mousegiggles1
Franchi, an Italian seed company have a few bargains at. £1 a pack and a few from the Eden project. I really rate their seeds, and the packets are gorgeous.

It was typo. My order just arrived today, all good. Got some wrapping paper and socks.

Some lovely bits here- the personalised placemats are cute, if you know a little one with those names!

I genuinely love new cotton bedding! I can recommend la redoute. They have some lovely fabric patterns, high count cotton and linen and washes well. There’s often a sale. I would consider vintage cotton as well, Sanderson is usually very high thread count and you can buy some lovely floral prints second hand if you like that kind of thing.
The big Lakeland waffle maker for toasted sandwiches is great! If you join their club you often get £5 off £50 nearer to Christmas. I’ve had mine for ages. One of my teens has the book ‘ will it waffle’ and uses it most days.

Thank you! “Will it Waffle” book now purchased for older teen. Perfect.

I ordered this for a 7 year old Harry Potter fan and it arrived today. Nice sizeable box and looks impressive for the price.

Not sure why my post got deleted as it was not an affiliate link just posting the sale section of Dusk bedding! If you like blue they have a bargain 200 thread count duvet cover in king size for £9 and matching pillow cases for £4

Mitre Linen are great for towels and bedding - they have a Royal Warrant, aren't spendy and supply hotels and spas that need things that are long lasting. Their bedding comes in a range of cotton types and thread counts. The do a massive jumbo bathsheet which nearly wraps around my substantial bust twice....

Terry’s Fabrics have some good deals on 100% cotton bedding. I can’t speak to the quality because I’ve been umming and ahhing about placing an order since someone shared their site on the previous thread. Bedding and pjs are my two weaknesses 😂

Thank you all for your ideas so far! Well under way with my shopping thanks to you all!

Two things I’ve found this evening,

Some good kids things in the Trespass online sale, the code HELLO gets an additional 15% off and works on sale items. I’ve ordered my toddler matching rainbow helmet and rainbow wellies which she will be so excited about!

I’ve also ordered three gifts in the Katie Loxton sale, seems to be selling quickly as lots is now out of stock since I first started browsing this morning. I ordered an AirPods case, wrist strap purse and mummy/baby pouch set.

Photobox have got 50% off poster prints until 21 sep. I always get dd a couple of posters of bands she’s seen in the year. They do a really clever AI optimisation so even if it’s not the best quality screenshot (I usually screenshot the tour poster) it still makes a good quality print. It works out about £10 for a 50x70cm poster which is the size I go for. You do have to spend £25 to qualify. My dd has run out of wall space and is now putting them on her ceiling.

I just need to find a creative way to wrap them as last Christmas when she saw a cylinder she said ooh great. A poster.

I bought my DS (13) a large sushi plushie from Cards Direct to go with the smaller ones I got him last year from Sainsbury’s. They also had these cute Haribo plushies for £12.99 and food plushies for £2.99

Free delivery at The Spark Company with code GLITTERTOSS

It’s feminist clothing/mugs/stationery etc

Finally caught up - hallelujah!

Super boring but can anyone recommend a decent priced but decent lawnmower? Ours just broke so think I might get my husband one for Christmas 😂

An idea for Christmas socking gift or for gardener… B&M are selling seedlings for half price or 3 packs for price of 2.

I got some sunflowers seedlings to give to younger members of our family. Vegs for the older ones.

Love a practical present 🫶

just on the sandwich maker - I know toasties are amazing and you can get ones with waffle plates too - but we’ve had a sandwich press for years (so just flat plates, doesn’t seal the edges of the sandwich) and it gets used so much as just wipes clean straight away. Can do wraps/quesadillas etc too.

we have this Sandwich press (since 2019) - looks like it’s £25 in Tk maxx if you could get to free click + collect spend or find in store :-)
