I love Autumn, Hallowe'en and Christmas, so I'm happy to talk about all three. For now, I'm enjoying the September sunshine, although it's a little chilly in the mornings and at night. The rowan tree in front of my house is full of red berries and the leaves on the trees are turning a lovely golden colour.
I've lots of Autumn and Hallowe'en decorations, because I threw a few Hallowe'en parties when DD was small. DD has informed me that she'll be taking down the Hallowe'en decorations soon. Apparently I put them up too late for her liking (rolls eyes). I'll share a few photos when we put up the decorations. There's a Hallowe'en festival in my town, so there's no escaping Hallowe'en. Not that I'd want to - I've loved Hallowe'en since I was a small kid and love it just as much now.
Due to the soaring costs of everything, especially electricity and home heating oil, I'm cutting back a bit this year where Christmas is concerned. I've already warned my adult DD that I won't be going all out this year and I've told her what her budget will be. She told me that she'll give me one or two suggestions and would like surprises for the remainder. I told her to buy me something small, as she has a boyfriend now and no doubt she'll be spending a lot of money on him. I'm meeting my sister soon and will suggest that we don't buy presents for each other this year.
Anyway, at the risk of sounding like Pollyanna, the things I enjoy most about Christmas are the free things - spending time with family and friends, Christmas movies, putting up the Christmas tree, admiring all the decorations and light displays etc.
Looking forward to chatting with you over the next few months. 🍁🎃🎄.
