Evening!

I'm a bit tipsy and very tired, but it's been a good day.

Round 2 tomorrow with the roast dinner!

@NoWordForFluffy I assumed this at first, that you were related, and then I thought “Nahh, very unlikely” 😂

How lovely!

Much excitement yesterday as my granddaughter was born in the evening and caused some concern for a while, but she seems to be ok now and both her and my daughter are alright. What a lovely date to be born.

Welcome new baby! ❤️

FurForksSake · 15/02/2026 14:54

Awww loving the family news! Congratulations granny and great aunty!

Congratulations why and Fluffy!! Hope baby is doing well Flowers

Valentine's Day was a non event in our house this year. We all exchanged cards (DH, me and LO) but no presents. We also skipped our traditional steak dinner due to me having a tooth out on Friday.

Im still sore and feeling sorry for myself so am taking it easy. Currently crocheting while watching Law & Order as it's grey and tipping down. I feel a possible Christmas film coming on this evening…

NoWordForFluffy · 15/02/2026 17:25

We've had blinding sunshine this afternoon! After a rubbish morning. The washing is out and flapping in the wind!

I've been out and bought some baby clothes for my great niece. So many cute sleep suits out there!

Sorry you're feeling sore, Meeces. Hopefully you recover soon.

Congratulations Why and Fluffy, what wonderful news. 💕

Also some lovely Easter baby clothes out at the moment so you will be spoilt for choice.

Afternoon! Mixed weather here today, first day of half term and we’ve done nothing. Tomorrow looks reasonable so I’ll get the boys out for a walk somewhere.

im waiting for some sanding blocks to arrive so I can sand some pots and then glaze them, that’s quite exciting. I’m definitely looking like I’ll be able to make Christmas presents. I’m going to make some wobbly platters with little dip wells and try and get them in the kiln soon, they’ll be a good gift.

ChopstickNovice · 17/02/2026 07:18

We ventured to London (I am staying with my parents who are only 40 mins from the big smoke). DS ate sushi and we struggled through the crowds to the natural history museum and it MOSTLY DID NOT RAIN!
We also went to Chinatown and I bought a Niánshòu (new year lion) hat. Almost certain the hat is aimed at children. 🤣

OMG it is NOT raining. Desperately need the garden to dry out, last night the garden lights tripped so obviously water has got in somewhere. PITA.

@FurForksSake the platters sound lovely. I'm planning to make cheeseboards this year with the slices of log that I scavenged (too moist to sand last year).

Off to the gym shortly then will make pancake mix to chill ready for later.

NoWordForFluffy · 17/02/2026 12:45

It's sunny here too. Bloody chilly with it as well! The dog enjoyed a good old sniff in the woods this morning. 🦮😁 He does love frozen grass!

I'm on the way to see my surgeon to check out my right shoulder. I think I may be seeing the physio as well, as she's in clinic in the afternoon.

I don't think we're doing pancakes. I will if the kids want them though. We have the ingredients.

Did you make pancakes? I am home tonight and am going to ask DH to make them (his batter is better than mine)

Nope, nobody mentioned it so I didn't! I don't mind!

We had savoury ones with cheese and spring onion then nutella ones. I had loads of chocolate as well as I give it up for lent so I still feel sick now!!!

Its very grey here but thankfully still dry. I am off to the gym shortly then supermarket then housework - quite looking forward to giving it a bloody good scrub.

We watched the original Wuthering Heights last night - DD was enthralled even though it is over 80 years old!!! Don't think I will watch the new one it looks a bit rude 😂.

ILoveCatsAndKittens · 18/02/2026 09:31

Windy and grey here, it looks like its going to rain heavily! I have a wash in the machine and debating whether its safe to leave out whilst im out all day or if i should leave it inside with the dehumidifier on?

I came downstairs this morning and could smell something disgusting. I knew it wasnt the bin or recycling as they were emptied last night, no bowls in the sink, fruit bowl all ripe....... I then found the culprit. DAFFODILS! Oh ny goodness they smell horrendous! I got myself some m&s bunches yesterday but they smell revolting! I have never known daffs to smell like poo🙈

NoWordForFluffy · 18/02/2026 09:37

The forecast is dry slightly up the coast, @ILoveCatsAndKittens. It does say cloudy with it though. Our washing is flapping happily on the line!

That's weird about the daffs! I may not buy some now. 😬

Ive never had smelly daffs before but honestly these are disgusting! They are now in a vase outside by the front door as the smell is that bad! Looks a bit weird but dont want to throw them out!

I love washing flapping about in the wind, it dries so quickly! Im going to risk puting it on the line, fingers crossed the rain stays away until im home!

NoWordForFluffy · 20/02/2026 09:43

Morning!

We have rain...luckily it started after the dog walk / run!

OP posts:
FurForksSake · 20/02/2026 10:09

It’s dry right now, but I don’t think it’s staying that way. I need to sand some pots so I can glaze them but it’s cold in the garage and my back hurts and and and .:.

NoCheesesForUsMeeces · 20/02/2026 10:30

Grey and miserable here. Matches my mood to be honest (dental treatment has resulted in an infection that’s made me feel rubbish and in pain for most of the week).
It’s been a waste of half term, I haven’t done any of the things I planned to.

I have spent some time planning a ‘big job’ for the summer though. I think we’re going to put in a garden room that will become an office for me (and I’m planning on making it part craft room). It’s been nice coming up with ideas for that.

Fingers crossed I can get back on track over the weekend!
