Evening!

I'm a bit tipsy and very tired, but it's been a good day.

Round 2 tomorrow with the roast dinner!

They're doing well now, @Magnoliasunrise. The warmer weather has definitely helped!

I have chillies, tomatoes and potatoes growing. That's as far as we've gone this year. How many courgette plants do you have? I used to do about 6 on the allotment and had waaaaaay too many! 🙈🤣

Welcome to Time. I think we are all lovely.

We went to see our granddaughter today, she has learnt to roll from her back to her front but she doesn't like being on her belly and made herself really angry 😆

I don't really grow things as I am useless. I do have a cactus that has been flowering for a while which I am pleased about.

Timetotakepart · 15/06/2026 17:46

I called into B&M today and bought A LOT of solar garden things, all gone into the Christmas cupboard but every one of them were half price so how could I not 😁

Summer definitely starting and it is Royal Ascot this week so yipppeeee.

I have 3 courgette plants @NoWordForFluffy and I just noticed 3 massive yellow flowers on them this morning. I was so delighted honestly you'd have though I gave birth to them myself.

Your granddaughter sounds very cute @whydoesitalwayshappentome - I remember DS being cross when he was on his tummy, absolutely hated it so i just let him stay on his back and all the blurb said "you HAVE to make them have tummy time to strengthen their back" I was so worried he might never walk 😂and now he's a strapping nearly 17 year old and can walk fine.

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 16/06/2026 07:36

She is very cute @Magnoliasunriseshe is so smiley most of the time, and loves lifting her legs into the air for some reason 😆 I told my daughter there was no such thing as tummy time when they were babies and nobody ended up unable to walk so not to worry about it.

NoWordForFluffy · 16/06/2026 08:59

Ooh, flowers, Magnolia. Are they male or female flowers? The male ones are just on long stems, the females are the ones which grow the courgettes.

Our tomatoes look loads happier now. They've gone back to having dark green leaves, not sad yellowy ones!

I picked my first chilli yesterday. Exciting!

Afternoon!

It's a lovely afternoon here, after a grey and clammy start. I've just had a drink in a bar by the station whilst waiting for DH to pick me up. It's rather pleasant!

Morning all.

I have just noticed that Tesco have Terry's chocolate oranges on offer until Sunday. I will be pootling in to a store to have a look as I have to buy 20 every year as stocking fillers! If they have good use by dates, I'll be picking some up.

The new bathroom has hit a snag a very expensive snag and neither me or DH know what the heck we are going to do about it so its all on hold for now whilst we work through options. I'm currently trying to fight off DH's very nasty cold hes had since we got back from the cruise so we still haven't been to see MIL at the new hospital.

Heatwave abated here
I have an appointment so up obscenely early for a Saturday Xmas Grin

Magnoliasunrise · 20/06/2026 08:49

Its very hot here. I feel like we could do with a storm to clear the air.

I need to do about five thousand household chores but I just cannot be bothered.

NoWordForFluffy · 20/06/2026 08:55

Morning!

I got up at 7 to take the dog for a walk before it got too warm. Our temps go up and down this week, but all in the 20s. Friday is apparently going to be 29°. 🥵🥵

Lots to do today. DS wants to go to Card Factory to choose stuff for DD's birthday and we will go to see my parents while we're in town it's great to use their place to park as it's in the centre. I'm going into Liverpool later to listen to the new Muse album at a record shop with a friend. It feels like it may be more like old Muse, not newer Muse, so hopefully it'll be enjoyable.

We're about to have breakfast in the garden, as it's so lovely.

Morning!

It's an early rising week this week, due to stupid temperatures and getting the dog walk done. I was out of the house by 5.30. It's quite pleasant at that time of day!

I feel like we are speeding through the year now, 186?!

im wondering about making some big changes to Christmas this year and maybe going away for a few days. It will depend if dh has a job and if probate has finished for mil but it might be a good thing to get some change.

Gracesquirrel · 22/06/2026 16:03

We have made a decision and are going to go ahead and order our new bathroom tomorrow - they wont be starting work until Sept but we need to get it booked in now, unlike most bathrooms ours will require a lot of building works due to the drainage fall being high so the floor has to be dug out to find the pipes and lower them - there's no way around it. I may have to think about having a Portaloo in the garden as the floor has to be dug up which wont be fun at night so we're thinking of maybe a camping toilet in the integral garage but we can think about that as we get closer to work starting.

Morning! Another scorchio today, yuk. I'm back to doing supply at primary schools but thankfully the one I am at this week has some air conditioning in the sensory rooms so I've hit the jackpot.

Got tomorrow off though as its DS birthday so I will be cake baking.

Think there are some thread birthdays today?

NoWordForFluffy · 23/06/2026 06:55

Morning!

Yes, Magnolia, DD is 13 (thirteen!!) today. I'm the proud owner of a teenager. 😁

I need to finish the cake. She asked for a Victoria sponge, so that's nice and simple.

I didn't let the dog run today as it was too warm even at 5.30. We trotted a few times, but no running. I saw more dogs this morning...the playing field we go to was surprisingly empty yesterday.

Morning!

Another lovely morning this morning. Hazy start but no doubt it'll burn off soon enough. ☀️

I've elected not to travel to the office today as Merseyrail isn't known for functioning in heat! (Or cold!)

Happy birthday to Magnolia's DS today! 🎂

Belated Happy Birthday to Fluffys DD and Happy Birthday to Magnolias DS today.

We had an early start lots of heavenly birthdays and anniversaries not forgetting fathers day just gone all falling this week so we were at the cemetery for 8am to take flowers to my dad then back in the car and a 20 min drive to the crematorium to visit FIL, back home just before 10am and I am not setting foot outside the house again today. Even that early it was scorchio.

Did buy 2 small Xmas stocking fillers for DIL spotted on the bargains thread so I am happy with that as there hasn't seemed to be as many deals around so far this year (or at least ones that suit the demographics I need to buy for).
