I'm a bit tipsy and very tired, but it's been a good day.

Round 2 tomorrow with the roast dinner!

Marking my place! I’ve ordered my wrapping paper from dunelm and added some Saale bits to Ocado. Also already done the next sale.

I bloody love your Christmas spirit and general devotion. I won't think about it until November 2026, but it does warm me knowing these threads exist.

I fully respect this thread. I’ve bought my Christmas cards for next year in the sale (£1 a box), so that’s cards sorted! I haven’t found any wrapping paper I like yet, but I’d like to sort that and I’ll be done this side of 2026 😁

I really liked the paper in Waitrose this year so if there any when I wander in next I'll buy some ( and probably forget where I hide it )

I bought gift bags for DD presents that will get re-cycled .

I bought a dress in M&S sale, the best time to buy sequins is after Christmas ( Cruise Formal Nights = Unleash my inner Liberace ) . I'm dithering over a sequin blazer but talking myself out of it as it'll rub my neck and I'd look like a compere at Butlins .

Resisting late evening eating as it gives me reflux .
Boxing Day is Pizza Day so the dough goes onto prove early morning .
I'm not planning going near the shops except for milk/Alpro , I'll send DS !

I’ve bought cheese so we can make pizzas, might do that on Saturday. Love using the pizza oven in winter.

Omg so here for this !! Feel kinda sad now it’s over and are snuggled up in bed watching a movie but we have a few things planned this week so cannot wait !

It’s not over! It’s the start, the build up is over but this is now Christmas not advent. Ylu e got till the 6th January to eat, drink, be merry, play the games and watch all the films.

But can also countdown to the next one at the same time 🤣

Post Christmas blues setting in already but I'm quite drunk so unavoidable.

Its been the most FABULOUS day and everything went to plan and I'm so sad it's nearly over so thanks @NoWordForFluffy for new thread, this'll keep me going through the blues.

Watching Call the Midwife while DC and DH are playing darts.

My fridge wouldn’t look impressive as one j covered in foil dishes and the other fridge is full of drinks and milk 🤣

Yeah mine looking quite shit now too as I'm just ramming stuff in wherever it'll fit and hoping nothing falls out when it next gets opened.

We are having our xmas dinner tomorrow. Just checked the turkey and its still frozen 🤦🏼‍♀️ shall I take it out and leave it on the side in kitchen overnight or am I asking for food poisoning doing this?! Usually only cook a crown but have a full one this year.

We're having our roast tomorrow too (all day buffet on CD itself). Our meat is defrosting on the side in the kitchen. We don't have the heating on, so it'll be fine.

I'll get it out the fridge before I go up to bed. Love our fridge freezer (got a big american thing when we got our new kitchen fitted) but sometimes i think its a bit too powerful, maybe i need to alter the temperature?

Dreading cooking it to be honest as ive never cooked a full turkey 🙈

We can't defrost in our fridge as it takes a million years! We've always defrosted on the side. You'll be fine!

My Mum was not a Christmas Fan (understatement) as she CBA with doing any work for it , so no decorations unless we did them, she didn't shop for food (my Dad did) we got presents but not all the 'extra' bits , and either I cooked or a family friend did .
We took over otherwise I don't know how it would've worked but she always said Boxing Day is my favourite as its all over and I wish I could go to sleep and wake up after New Years Day . She really just couldn't be bothered with any of it . Not even for the sake of her DC . And Christmas back in my day was much more low key .
When I had DC , I knew I wanted to do more Christmas things and happily had DParents for Christmas . I wanted to cook and decorate in my house .
We started doing the nice festive things with DS then DD when she arrived . And now she's adult we go to London and weekends away .
DS is a Bah Humbug and not really into Christmas but that;s just him.

I know some people go overboard and some children do not have any sort of Christmas ( abuse /neglect) so I don't whinge IRL . (Though my DC are adults so know that their Christmasses are different to mine )

Oh absolutely it’s not over ! It’s over when the DCs go back to school, . I’m very lucky that DHs family is very much into Christmas so I’ve always gone the extra for ours
I love Boxing Day. Spending time with DCs and their new gifts , eating chocolate , Christmas movies on . I know some like to take the tree down on Boxing Day seems insane to me!

We had a lovely day yesterday. Me and DH went for a walk in the afternoon, it was bitingly cold but refreshing. We watched tv in the evening and I added a few things to a Boots shop. I am working today but then off for three days when Christmas will continue.
