Evening!

I'm a bit tipsy and very tired, but it's been a good day.

Round 2 tomorrow with the roast dinner!

I can’t believe how soon we are going to be in the 200s! February is going to whizz by.

My kiln is having a test fire and I’ve dug out some pots to fire in it tomorrow.

Im trying to work out how weird it would be to start making Christmas treee luminaries now 🤣

You need to do a few trial runs so come October you can hit the ground running .
Your Hallowe'en decorations will all be ready by end September ....

FurForksSake · 09/02/2026 19:13

I wanted to make some heart bowls but realised that’s a bit late 🤣 Maybe I should practice pumpkins.

It's always rain / cloud coloured cars which decide on no lights! 🙄

We've had rain too. Thankfully not on my dog walk first thing.

Rain here too. Go away, jet stream!!

FurForksSake · 10/02/2026 20:24

So do we have any hope it’s going to stop any time soon? It’s making me really sad now.

ChopstickNovice · 10/02/2026 21:56

Same @FurForksSake . Apparently it's going to dry on Saturday and then more rain Sunday :(

Our garden is no longer a bog it is more like a lake. Had to get the ladder out of the shed last night to change the smoke alarm battery and I could have swum to it.

NoWordForFluffy · 11/02/2026 07:28

We're still on boggy puddles in our garden. The estate and the one we're next to are very waterlogged and covered in deep puddles.

I got very wet this morning. I gave up trying to avoid puddles as I couldn't see half of them in the dark and with my glasses covered in rain. I had a very splashy run with the dog!

We're just trying to work out washing logistics given the lack of dry spells!

@NoWordForFluffy we have the heated Lakeland airer. It's not super fast but it is a sure way to dry clothes without everywhere smelling fusty and damp

NoCheesesForUsMeeces · 11/02/2026 10:56

I am very nearly on top of my washing. Once today's load is hung to dry (in the utility room) I have 1 more to do which I'll do tonight and the baskets will be empty for 2 minutes

It's my office day. Rain here too so I got damp walking from train to office and will no doubt have the same on the way home.

I haven't really tested our garden but I'd guess the lawns are squidgy.

Anyway, best get back to work. I'm finishing at 2:30 today so I can do the school run as DH can't. I swear I'm forever in a rush <sigh>

I feel this too! When can we just stop and breathe?!

It’s very mixed here. Rain on the way in. Blue sky and crisp on my lunchtime wander. Grey, cold but dry for the walk to the train.

Chopsticks I currently try and work 4 days condensed into 3.5 but even that is hard. My 1 ‘day off’ (not a day as LO is only in school until 11:30am) is spent doing house stuff and the other 4 I am trying to get my work done so I can have the early finish I need on Friday. The pressure is quite something!

Guess what? Rain here too Xmas Hmm
I am going to check the weather forecast for the weekend and might try some gardening . Otherwise it'll be tidying indoors

I am on the lookout for some plants , I like to buy them little and grow them on if I can.
We have a composter which might be ready to use now .

|Dry here for now. typing with cat on knee who is trying to type as well!!! hhmmmmm........

NoWordForFluffy · 13/02/2026 07:42

Morning!

Guess what?! It's bloody wet here! But apparently gets dry and bloody freezing later / tomorrow. Oh yes, and windy. DH is doing a load of washing to put out when he gets home from work.

I'm in the office today, and also only doing a half day. DD has a reward trip to Liverpool, so I'm meeting up with her at lunchtime to take her to John Lewis for cake. I offered to take her friends too, so they've somewhere warm to be. Apparently there's going to be 6 of them, including DD. I may spend a record amount in the JL cafe! 🤣

Then I'm off Monday-Weds next week and I can't wait!

The sun is out!!! Off to get some washing on and hope it doesn't start raining again before the machine finishes.

Lucky you! Raining here, dehumidifier on this morning to get the washing dry!

I cant believe we are half way through febraury already, the time is flying by!!

NoCheesesForUsMeeces · 13/02/2026 11:56

My washing basket was clear for literally 2 and a half hours yesterday. Then DH and LO came home, LO had a bath and spilled a drink on his bed so had towels, bedding and clothes from us to fill one 🙄 Was nice while it lasted.

Miserable weather today which doesn’t bother me as I’m on dentist orders to basically sit and rest (booked the day off as I had to have a tooth out this morning). Am currently pairing socks and watching crime stuff on tv while trying to ignore the throbbing and feeling sorry for myself.

I get a couple of days home alone next week and am planning on spending a lot of it chilling with a book or crochet as 2 of the 3 days are ones I don’t work so I’ll have actual time to do stuff/do nothing. May also indulge myself with a Christmas film if the mood takes me… I often get a weird festive feeling around now Xmas Smile

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 13/02/2026 19:59

I have a few days off at the end of Feb (cannot wait either) I had a few days at Christmas and that seems like forever !

DH is whittering about painting the bathroom so I need to choose paint -not a problem, I have a good idea what I'm after .
I can look at plants too .
But the whole bathroom will need emptied , the paintwork washed and everything covered before he paints .

I have a waffle maker (excited) , DD tells me we've had waffles in Belgium so anything else will be a massive let-down but it's too far to Belgium so I'll give it a try
