This post is a work in process and if you have any links you’d like to share or would be good to add then please do let me know. The general consensus for the thread is to share any bargainous links, ideas and/or discount codes or information. No affiliate links (is that the right word?) And any referral links to the separate thread linked below. This is a warm, friendly, kind and cosy corner of mn filled with Christmas cookies and hot chocolate - let’s keep it that way!

If you have any referral links then please post on this thread https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/5212180-bargain-referrals-thread-7 and share around the joy/referral perks.

It's nearly time! November is tomorrow and Mariah Carey will be officially announcing the start of festivities Grin . Hope you're all well and just wanted to give you all a massive thank you so sharing these wonderful ideas and codes etc. It helps me SO MUCH. I know I don't post much on here (various things going on) but I appreciate this warm place of mn so much.

Did everyone get their cashback from PayPal? Mine was showing as pending but I can't see it at all now (only one purchase).

I got some last month but I have a couple of further George transactions which are due & as you say, no longer stating pending on them… Will have to see if the money appears I guess!

I got mine - it came through after a month I think.

Ok thanks all. I've checked and it is still showing as pending on the browser, just not in the app.

Any Hobbycraft codes on the go?

MaverickSnoopy · 02/11/2025 13:54

OHS have started their Black Friday sale. Lots of things reduced down to not very much - fleece blankets, cushion covers etc for £2/3. Some nice festive things too.

I got a cuddle/reading cushion, 3 duvet cover sets, 2 sherpa kids oodies, 2 cushion covers and a tablecloth for £40 delivered and 4.5% cashback via Topcashback.

Crochetandtea · 02/11/2025 14:17

Hello
This year seems a bit light on bargains, doesn’t it?
Does anyone remember if Waitrose reduce their crackers? I seem to think that they dropped quite significantly at one point last year, by at least a third if not half price. They are doing 1% club ones this year but they’re too expensive at full price.
The idea of an electric blanket which I could turn on from phone rather than have to go all the way upstairs is bringing me great joy. Excuse my ignorance but can smart plugs only be used with Alexa or Google Home or some such? I don’t really like the idea of that being in the bedroom. I used to worry enough about having the baby monitor in there and being caught out having someone overhear something I was saying in front of that!
Thanks

I agree. I’ve basically got nothing so far 🙁

FeyreandRhysand · 02/11/2025 15:11

@HouseWithASeaView you can buy smart plugs that have their own apps, we have one and it’s not linked to an Alexa. You just need to download the app on your phone and you’re good to go!

Hello,

Apologies if this isn’t the correct place. Does anyone know if M&S might bring back their 2 sets of bale kids pjs for £16 please?
Ordered them last year in Sept so more than likely not doing the same deal again I assume. ☹️

How do you find the quality of them? I noticed that the quality of the pyjamas in the 3 for 2 deal last year was absolutely terrible. Are the bales better?

The bales are lovely pyjamas. I'm glad it's not just me being dim, as I was looking for them the other day!

Up to £10 off each item on Ninja Kitchen UK website (credit to Extreme Couponing Facebook page!). Not yet sure if a glitch, but it worked for me (and I first read about it a few hours ago).

Spin the Wheel on Ninja Kitchen UK website. You can get up to £10 off (but may need to try again if not successful by clearing history/cookies). Then enter the code for your purchases, and it takes off £10 off each item purchased.

Thanks I purchased one for me. Another treat for myself instead of presents for others 😂 such a good price tho I just couldn’t resist.

Hi lovely wise Mumsnetters
I am after some tips….. last year someone suggested little ones making snowmen wrappers for chocolate bars and my little one had great fun colouring and sticking to do them…..I wondered if anyone had any similar ideas for a three year old to easily craft to make a token present ?

I need multiples so nothing that she will do one and be bored and not do anymore.

I have thought of salt dough tree decorations but the chocolate was good last year as they got something to enjoy.

Any ideas welcome……

We have done these before but also done reindeers, wrapped in brown parcel paper, with red noses, eyes, antlers etc to stick on? If that’s not too same-y?

Wolfcub · 02/11/2025 16:45

Successful laithwaites purchase I think that’s 4 years in a row now! 14 bottles for £5.41 a bottle buying the £119 Xmas case which comes with free prosecco, a separate bottle of rose and using the referral code and a £10 work discount on vouchers. I’ll take that. New referral code on the other thread if someone would like to use it.

You could try these - toilet roll tubes, a skein of thick yarn and a chocolate. I can link to tutorial if you're interested. I made these with my grandson at that age.

Hi, I was just wondering if anyone knows if buy a gift website gives a further discount than 20%? There is 20% off just now and there is something I want to buy for someone's christmas but I was hoping there would be a bigger discount on black Friday and wondered if anyone knew? Thanks 😊
