Thread 8 - the one with all the pillow talk

This post is a work in process and if you have any links you’d like to share or would be good to add then please do let me know. The general consensus for the thread is to share any bargainous links, ideas and/or discount codes or information. No affiliate links (is that the right word?) And any referral links to the separate thread linked below. This is a warm, friendly, kind and cosy corner of mn filled with Christmas cookies and hot chocolate - let’s keep it that way!

If you have any referral links then please post on this thread https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/5212180-bargain-referrals-thread-7 and share around the joy/referral perks.

It's nearly time! November is tomorrow and Mariah Carey will be officially announcing the start of festivities Grin . Hope you're all well and just wanted to give you all a massive thank you so sharing these wonderful ideas and codes etc. It helps me SO MUCH. I know I don't post much on here (various things going on) but I appreciate this warm place of mn so much.

I had such a horrendous experience with Debenhams last year I would never ever use them again. Miss the old real Debenhams, but the new customer service is absolutely shocking.

I'll never again buy anything from Debenhams, either.

Also, any suggestions for a baby boy who will be 2 months at Christmas and has an older brother so will have a lot of stuff already ? thanks

At this age I would go for clothes to grow into with a small soft toy/ blanket that they can keep as a keepsake.

Oh no I’m worried now. I have two advent calendars that I ordered a while ago and haven’t opened as they are gifts

CAMHShelp · 09/11/2025 00:24

Any offers on beats?

There were really big discounts on Amazon on Prime day. I suspect they will discount again for Black Friday.

I ordered some bits a few weeks ago and luckily they were all fine when they arrived but took about a week to come.

Ooopsyididit · 09/11/2025 03:58

OHS has a really good black Friday sale and hooded blankets for £5.

I bought 2 Labubu advent calendars that were squished when they got here, probably by Evri. I had no trouble getting a full refund and they told me to keep the calendars. Dgs and dd were delighted to open them all in one sitting and the contents were undamaged. Check that the boxes aren't damaged inside the packaging.

Im looking out for this too. Last year, john lewis had the white ones for £99 in their BF deals.

mumonthehill · 09/11/2025 08:02

I ordered the lip gloss so thanks. Not on the high street have their sale on so ordered a few bits from them although it takes a while to go through it all still easier if you search for things.

WhiskyandWater · 09/11/2025 08:09

@HopefulBeliever I think Trinny had 20% off for Black Friday last year, also stocked in Liberty and they sometimes have offers on.

Anyone seen any codes for adidas? 🙏

Bluelight are doing 15% off ‘selected items’. It’ll tell you on the page if it is excluded from promos, so if it doesn’t say that on the thing(s) you want it should work.

They are currently £164 in JL but hoping they’ll come down

Floopsy · 09/11/2025 08:27

Thanks to the poster who found the Kukubird Lipgloss set. I also purchased some pug-themed leggings. Perhaps my fellow pug owner @hugsandpugs might be interested 😉

You can get 5% with blue light card? Not a lot but it all helps!

Weaning stuff. It’s nice for the new bubba to have their own cutlery, sippy cup and plates. It’s also good as it means the toddler doesn’t have to share.

Also books, as no one can ever have too many. Tactile ones, “That’s not my”, the Julia Donaldson touch&feel books… and classics like Peepo, very hungry caterpillar etc

Crochetandtea · 09/11/2025 09:56

A Sophie giraffe for the baby and some cash for his bank account .

mumonthehill · 09/11/2025 09:58

Thanks for the torch link, a great stocking filler!!

WhyDoesItAlways · 09/11/2025 09:59

Victoria Beckham beauty has 20% off this weekend. It's pricey stuff but i tried her eyeliner after seeing it advertised and it is as good as the advert makes it look.
