This post is a work in process and if you have any links you’d like to share or would be good to add then please do let me know. The general consensus for the thread is to share any bargainous links, ideas and/or discount codes or information. No affiliate links (is that the right word?) And any referral links to the separate thread linked below. This is a warm, friendly, kind and cosy corner of mn filled with Christmas cookies and hot chocolate - let’s keep it that way!

If you have any referral links then please post on this thread https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/5212180-bargain-referrals-thread-7 and share around the joy/referral perks.

It's nearly time! November is tomorrow and Mariah Carey will be officially announcing the start of festivities Grin . Hope you're all well and just wanted to give you all a massive thank you so sharing these wonderful ideas and codes etc. It helps me SO MUCH. I know I don't post much on here (various things going on) but I appreciate this warm place of mn so much.

Also, any suggestions for a baby boy who will be 2 months at Christmas and has an older brother so will have a lot of stuff already ? thanks

I have brought a friends baby who will be 1m a lonely teddy from Hamleys with the year on the foot. It was in the sale a month or so ago.

@MilkToastHoney
I'm keeping an eye on the PS Dualsense Edge Controller and the EE shop is the cheapest I've found so far at £185. I'm holding off buying for now just in case it drops in price anywhere for Black Friday.

Arregaithel · 08/11/2025 14:22

For anyone who buys for their pooch and loves Harry Potter ⚯ ͛

Fireside10 · 08/11/2025 14:23

@gingerbreadmummmy 4 year old loves his yoto, it's integral to our bedtime routine now but he also loves it in the car, when colouring, if he's up early etc. I got it when he was 2/3ish he finds the functions okay but does still ask for help. They have a very wide selection of cards to grow with although I do find Toni figures are more readily available in shops.

My referral code is in the separate referral thread, it will get you 10% off your first purchase and should stack with any other offer.

HopefulBeliever · 08/11/2025 14:23

Has anyone seen a good bath bomb making kit for kids?
Thanks

Penguinbeaver · 08/11/2025 14:26

The Ordinary have 23% off everything until 7 Dec with a free moisturiser with every purchase.

HopefulBeliever · 08/11/2025 14:41

Also does anyone know if Trinny London take part in Black Friday or know of any discount codes? Thanks

alfiebest · 08/11/2025 14:44

Just bought two personalised books from Librio you can personalise names and how the characters look. My oldest loved hers so I’ve bought two more for the younger two. They’re quite pricey but there’s a discount for two or more family25 for 25% off

Tirednamechange · 08/11/2025 14:47

Thank you everyone for your suggestions. I think I'm going with the guinea pig, it is the closest to really feeling like our cat and tbh we have so many soft toys the fact it's quite small is another bonus!

LonelyMom123 · 08/11/2025 15:20

Can anyone help please. Trying to order the glasses cloths and a few other photo gifts but cannot find where to put the discount code on Rosemartsigns? Thanks

Tombobombo · 08/11/2025 15:23

@Justkeepsmilingx no worries at all! It is so easy to miss if you don’t know it’s there - took me a while to figure it out! 😅

@jocktamsonsbairn aww no problem at all I’m glad to help, I’ve just done another order from my other email address for the Gemini tumbler with straw! That was £15 down to £5 so managed to get it for £2.55 after the points then another free hand cream! Happy with £5.55 including p&p for those two things 😊

IsThisIt2021 · 08/11/2025 15:30

Thank you @1122christy

The Funko offer was too good to pass up here too. I spent just under £46 but I got the Spider-Man display, the pack of 12 Spider-Man bitty pops for my youngest. I also got some of the football ones - 3 at £3.90 and 1 at £6.50 to split between my 2 oldest. They collect these so they’ll be over the moon!

Mr Men & Little Miss book advent calendar down to £10.30 on Amazon, down from £21.99. Comes with 24 mini books.

Edited

We got that one year and it has been used for five years since. A good bargain!

Yes that’s true the Toni’s you could take a child into a shop to pick one where as the yotos I haven’t found in a shop at all

Whattheduck · 08/11/2025 16:31

Sainsbury’s had the game What’s the time Mr Wolf for £4.50 it was £13 on Amazon got it for Dh’s godson
Not Christmas related but they had lots of Halloween stuff reduced right down
I got my dd a lovely Stitch mug for 60p
They had big tubs of sweets for 90p napkins and tablecloths for 20p and trick or treat buckets for 10p along with other bits

IsThisIt2021 · 08/11/2025 16:47

@1122christy

I was concerned that the football ones would go out of stock at those prices!

I checked out but now looked through properly. I’ve now got a basket at £47 but leaving it for a while as it’s just things that I think are a great price rather than a “need to buy”. Wonder if I’ll cave!

If you want to eat chocolate seashells rather than give them as a present, Wonky chocolate currently has Belgian chocolate seashell seconds at £20/kg or £12/500g bag. This is slightly cheaper per gram than buying them for yourself at Home and Bargain, but not as nicely packaged.

Lots of other seconds chocolate, too, including a pretty box of Belgian mixed pralines at £25 for 500g. The box does say Wonky on the outside, so it might be good if you intend them for someone who’s keen on eco causes or recycling.

£50 spent at Wonky gets you free postage and a free 500g bag of Wonky chocolate.

My DD has mentioned a few times the Dyson air wrap. I think she knows it’s out of budget. But does anyone know about the shark flex style and whether that might be a suitable more affordable alternative? Or would a refurbished old style air wrap be better. She’s 15. Thanks

I've not tried the Dyson but got a refurbished shark one on their eBay store for about £150 inc curlers, diffuser, and case which I'm really pleased with. They generally have quite a lot on there and comes with a warranty.

Whoevenarethey · 08/11/2025 17:59

For whoever asked about Yoto Vs Tonie I bought my child a yoto when they turned 6 (so obviously a bit older than your child). They are still listening to it now and they will soon turn 11. I think that's why it might be a better investment as the cards you buy for it cover a bigger age range and even if your child can't use it independently themselves now, it will grow with them as they get older.
