Thread 8 - the one with all the pillow talk

Reastie · 31/10/2025 07:11

This post is a work in process and if you have any links you’d like to share or would be good to add then please do let me know. The general consensus for the thread is to share any bargainous links, ideas and/or discount codes or information. No affiliate links (is that the right word?) And any referral links to the separate thread linked below. This is a warm, friendly, kind and cosy corner of mn filled with Christmas cookies and hot chocolate - let’s keep it that way!

If you have any referral links then please post on this thread https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/5212180-bargain-referrals-thread-7 and share around the joy/referral perks.

It's nearly time! November is tomorrow and Mariah Carey will be officially announcing the start of festivities Grin . Hope you're all well and just wanted to give you all a massive thank you so sharing these wonderful ideas and codes etc. It helps me SO MUCH. I know I don't post much on here (various things going on) but I appreciate this warm place of mn so much.

Has anyone good ideas for a 13 year old for their stockings? I usually do Lego figures, dairy free sweets and small gifts that fit but as he is getting older, it’s getting harder.

There’s a teenage boys stocking thread on here somewhere which might help? My eldest ds got nostalgic around 13 for stuff he enjoyed as a small kid which was great! So far I have for my ds 14-
top trumps
Harry Potter colour changing hot chocolate
pickle fork (for getting pickles out of the jar)
a jar of Dubai chocolate spread
ramune drink
novelty socks
cooling towel
aftershave testers/minis
grip socks
chocolate orange
whitening tooth pen
plaque exposing toothpaste and mini uv light
hair oil and oiling comb

I realise that not everyone’s ds is modelling themselves on David Ginola in his glory days, but hopefully some of this list might be useful!

I don’t know if I’m imagining it but I’m sure this exact message has been copied and pasted multiple times throughout the threads.. is it some kind of scam? 🤔 (apologies to the poster if I’m mistaken!)

No not a scam. Please remove any duplicates as I could not see the post so redid it. Why the sweeping scam statement? It’s a visible url/link to an official site, which is Etsy.

You're not wrong @BrightWolf

It would appear to be "Ray Krzeminski" promoting their etsy shop

so are you affiliated @Ramona75?

You have posted the same link 4x?

Could break MNHQ rules though.

Can blame someone for trying to drum up business I guess but surely most of that e-shop's digital content is available for free on Chatgpt nowadays?

I was looking for the bunnies but they sell out fast. I ended up getting the black lab just so I have something.

@ITSSSSCHRISTMASSS what bunnies are you looking for? I bought my daughter 4 of the new Christmas small bunnies from trotters online a few days ago they keep coming in and out of stock so worth keeping an eye on there

FurForksSake · 07/11/2025 12:50

@Raindancer411 I’ve currently got a thread going in Christmas about slightly unhinged stockings.

small power bank for phone
socks
pants
smellies
fidget toys
stationery
fun foods from the world foods aisle or local foreign food store
pop tarts / cereal you wouldn’t usually buy
mini toiletries (boots often have a good range)
spot stickers
hot chocolate sachets / tub (galaxy vegan is nice)
cake mix

one of mine is getting a fray bentos and the other pot noodles 😆

Edited

@FurForksSake one of mine ist getting a tin of anchovies

Londonmummy66 · 07/11/2025 18:06

IRL shopping at Spirit of Christmas yesterday - nothing massively bargainous but I did pick up some of these which might make good teacher/secret santa gifts - £2 each but a discount if buying 6 or more and postage is only £2.80 which isn't too painful https://www.peaceofafrika.co.uk/shop-now/Christmas-decorations-Gift-Tags-p503265756

Just working through today’s posts. Apologies if it’s been pointed out already but there is a teenage boy stockings threads. It’s got some useful ideas

edited because I see it has!
mine has appreciated the trainer cleaning stuff as well as the power banks, nice charger leads. App control lights or remote control colour change tea lights were also popular

Trying to drum up business by posing as a customer is illegal, and unethical, though. https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/what-businesses-need-to-know-about-unfair-commercial-practices/what-businesses-need-to-know-about-unfair-commercial-practices

I’m looking for 2 bargains for DD. She’s asked for new sprint spikes and the Floral Street Sunflowers perfume. I’ve found good spikes on the ASICS website but I’m already a member and no discount codes floating around if anyone knows of any?
I’ve found the perfume at Lookfantastic for £55.50. Not sure if this is good or not. Boots has another one of their fragrances on at half price at the moment so don’t know whether to wait and see if it goes down further or just buy it.
I did go real life shopping today and picked up the Benefit I spy beauty full face Star Gift from Boots for DN15 and it looks like a really good gift. Would recommend.

Has anyone shopped witg online home store before? they have some really good bargains at the moment..some hooded blankets £5, cuddle cushions from £10 and teddy fleece blankets and allsorts from £4. Very tempted to get some cushions and blankets but not used them before.

They get mixed reviews on here but I really like their stuff and have ordered a few times

IlovePond · 07/11/2025 18:47

@beadyboo code: 40PLUS on LF brings the Sunflowers FS perfume down to £52.17.

Justforchristmas · 07/11/2025 18:52

Sainsbury's has lots of gifts sets on offer many are half price. Some are cheaper than boots and Amazon.

I have a student code for 10% off full price items for ASICS if that helps? ETA looks like I can also get 22% off at LF if that helps with the perfume too?

FurForksSake · 07/11/2025 19:27

M&co are doing £10 off a £50 spend and free delivery on first app orders. They’ve got some nice Christmas jumpers, some good looking pyjamas and scarves. Might be good for a gift!

Magik01 · 07/11/2025 20:05

Would be so so grateful if someone could send me a code for Argos, I’m going to be spending over £100 so would love a discount! I’ve already signed up to the newsletter last year so can’t get the £5 unfortunately!

Chocolateteabag · 07/11/2025 20:08

@beadyboo - have you looked for spikes on SportsShoes for ASICS spikes? They have several discounted and you can usually find a discount code (or maybe @MamaK19 can send you a student code)
