What do you really want for Christmas?

I've spent the afternoon with a friend, and we've been planning our annual Christmas Shopping Extravaganza - it's become our default present to each other, brunch somewhere nice, a browse around the shops, coffee in a garden centre etc.

We don't actually buy much other than a few stocking fillers for our children, and a few little items here and there, but she asked me what I really really wanted for Christmas.

I said I would love a copy of Sense and Sensibility, preferable a dusty well thumbed paperback.

She wants a door stop.

Neither of us is being a grinchy bah humbugger, we're just quite happy with a little token gift. So what would you like?

A vintage 246GT Dino in dark metallic green would be nice ?

I feel overwhelmed with stuff as my house is quite crowded and my mum has recently passed away so I have to sort out all her stuff.
So I have asked my partner for a voucher for a day trip somewhere. I would like to go somewhere with animals. Like alpaca walking or to a safari park. Yes I appreciate those might be gifts for children (I’m 43) but that’s what I would like. A nice day outside somewhere. I’ve left it with him to choose as it doesn’t really matter where I just don’t want more physical items that I need to find room for. I have spelt this out to him.

Lovely thread OP.
I would like someone to take my battered car to be cleaned inside and out and returned to me. Just that.

Oh, so would I. Mine is growing moss round the windows. It's horrible.

A miracle. Money. To find a way of our crippling debt and buy real, solid wood furniture and not chipboard shite from B&M for the rest of my life.

other than that, I really like the look of the shark flex hair styler!

Second hand dark wood furniture can be bought quite cheaply.

A well fitting and natural looking hair piece as my hairloss is really getting to me.

The lego tuxedo cat. If I don't get one for Christmas then my birthday is mid January.

Tupperwarefan · 21/11/2025 16:20

@ChristmasHugwhat a lovely thing to do x

Id like a planner for 2026. I love a good planner! If I had more money I would also get a greenhouse, just a small one.

A Highland cow garden ornament. Dh was going to get me one I'd seen in Home Bargains but all the garden stuff has been put away so he's getting it after Christmas if they come back in.
Out of reach for now but the Lego Botanical Garden. It's my birthday in February and if everyone will give me money I can get it then.

Yes! I keep putting this on my wishlist but nobody ever takes me up on it... just a full valet please, without me having to do anything!

I want to upgrade a cheap elasticated bracelet with ‘the real thing’ but can’t find it anywhere. Rose gold chunky beads. Like the Tiffany silver one but rose gold. All the ones I can find look ok until you see them on a wrist and they’re tiny beads - I’m looking for beads that are 0.5-1cm big.

A bottle of my favourite perfume

a proper DSLR with two lenses (this is dream world)

TrentCrimmsflowinglocks · 21/11/2025 22:50

Some really really soft wool socks.

Also knitting supplies,
A small bottle of La Vie Est Belle.
Miracle weight loss - if I could wake up on Christmas morning a stone lighter, that would be great.

itsnotalwaysthateasy · 21/11/2025 23:16

I don't need anything. I will accept present with the intent they were given.
I'd much rather buy.
I truly hate surprises.
