This post is a work in process and if you have any links you’d like to share or would be good to add then please do let me know. The general consensus for the thread is to share any bargainous links, ideas and/or discount codes or information. No affiliate links (is that the right word?) And any referral links to the separate thread linked below. This is a warm, friendly, kind and cosy corner of mn filled with Christmas cookies and hot chocolate - let’s keep it that way!

If you have any referral links then please post on this thread https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/5212180-bargain-referrals-thread-7 and share around the joy/referral perks.

Does anyone have any ideas for ear buds that are noise cancelling? Do not want apple ones as expensive and I think they will get lost. Looking at £60 mark. Amazon have ones on offer but am not sure!

Yes, I’ve logged several claims in the last few weeks for quite high values eg 10% cashback on a £250 order. The visit shows (can select it in the dropdown when making the claim) but the purchase doesn’t track.

Yes this is the same as what’s happening with me 🫣

Hi everyone, so pleased to see this thread up and running. Just wondering if anyone who recommended/purchased the Outsmarted game last year remembers the best offer for it please? It's currently saying 25% off direct on the website but that seems to make it the same price it is in Smyths. Does anyone know if they do a black friday discount? I remember Smyths and Argos did buy one get one free on games last year as well so maybe I should wait and see if that comes up again..

Also, showing my old lady brain, I can not for the life of me remember the name of a website that sells things students would like, homeware stuff, does anyone have the foggiest what it could be? I am wanting a noodle bowl with chopsticks and I feel this site had particularly large ones with handles? Maybe?

Thanks for any assistance!

I don’t know what the best price was for outsmarted last year, however, I’ve just checked my emails and I ordered from amazon on the 13th of December for £19.99 if that helps

I do my mums shopping. Dniece has asked her for a puppycorn? Any ideas please of where to look. My youngest is almost 20 so I’m well out of touch!

Any suggestions for a small (£10?) gift for a 4 year old girl that I don’t know very well? I do know she likes colouring.

These Lego botanicals are 30% off

m&s currently has quite a big sale on, lots of things that might be useful like photo frames, mugs and candles are half price.

also if anyone hasn’t realised the new toniebox is out. The original one is currently on sale, so if you’re not bothered about all the features of the new one it could be a good time to buy, especially if you’re going second hand.

My DD and her friends adored the Usborne sticker dolly dressing books around that age https://www.amazon.co.uk/Sticker-Dolly-Dressing-Rainbow-Unicorns/dp/1803707747

Anker are usually good value for money for things like this.

I'd agree most of them like those sticker books at that age (DD1 was the exception and would have preferred a stack of blank paper), and Amazon has some for £4-£5 at the moment.

DD2 was also given a wee drawing set, about A5 size that zips open to reveal felt tips, coloured pencils, gel pens, etc., and both she and DD1 really like it. A bit like this, but not this one: www.smiggle.co.uk/shop/en/smiggleuk/pals-junior-stationery-gift-pack-482273. I wouldn't be tempted by the huge A3 sized ones at a similar price point – when we've been given them, at least half the stuff is so cheap it barely works, crayons and coloured pencils that barely leave a mark, etc.

Rorys · 04/09/2025 22:26

Rebel girls book 80% off. £4 for a hardback book Which would make a lovely gift. It’s suggested for 6-9 year olds

You can get them in Smyths, Argos and probably any supermarket with a decent toy section.

I've seen a lot on these threads over the years regarding cheapy Oodies on eBay that are likely genuine due to their prints, but does anyone know if there is anything out there for sleep tees? I see great reviews for the Oodie sleep tees and unfortunately I am getting to an age where a non-clingy, breathable nightwear option would be so welcomed. Plus I am sick of scrambling for shorts or joggers to wear in the morning after sleeping in just a t-shirt. Doesn't have to be Oodie, if anyone has any recommendations!

Jist remove the space after Etsy. It’s the ‘Christmas Trio’ that have Jo Malone scents including Pear & Freezia and also some White Company ones too.

She also does other Jo Malone scents but not as candle options yet as she mostly does wax melts. FWIW, her Plum, Rose and Tonka Bean candle is amazing and definitely lasted way longer than the 9 hours she gave! It’s far nicer than Jo Malone’s pear and freezia

Do you know which ones she has already? We got DD one from Amazon because you could select which one it was whereas buying it in the shop we ran the risk of getting one she already had.

Thank you. I’ve no idea I’m afraid. Best thing then would be to get mum to try to find out and go for Amazon then.
