I'm taking a punt here that we won't need another thread before Christmas, but feel free to prove me wrong!

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

@IlovePond similar with me this year. M&S closed their food order amendments on the 10th, where as last year you could remove things right up until the last minute. I now have way too much in my order (including an extra turkey 🤦‍♂️) as DP's parents can no longer make it.

The woman on the customer services line said just to take out anything I don't want but I can see myself causing complete chaos at the click and collect point. Still, I'm sure the staff will get to take anything leftover home for pennies so hopefully they won't mind too much!

Had a £12 code off bloom & wild in my email so just ordered MIL some flowers to be delivered tomorrow so we can take them to the nursing home when we visit. £19 down to £7 delivered and it includes carnations which are her fave so hoping that’ll bring a little smile to her ❤️

Ooh are they cosy? I’ve wrapped my two free ones up for DS and DH for Xmas. Currently travelling up to East Sussex from Wales to visit MIL at nursing home. DH driving so just catching up on the thread 🎄

Aaargh - just checked the JE order that DH took in this morning and half of it is missing, plus lots got substituted even though I had said no subs🙈. I have only just gone to check. Of course, DH didn’t even know it was coming, never mind what I’d ordered!

Tbf to JE, they have refunded me immediately, so all good!

My family and friends will be getting some great presents this year and I have already started buying next year’s birthday gifts.
My two for £20 boux avenue pajamas arrived very quickly today and they both had their £38 tags on, so another great bargain.

I don’t know if this helps but when I get my M&S click and collect at Xmas, you have to pick it up from a special area, get given your voucher to show you’ve paid the deposit and then take it to the till to pay. So you could quite easily get rid of stuff. I find it really annoying as you still have to queue

I have never got special orders from M&S @SupremeFan - that’s good to know.

Sadly, with Waitrose you have to cough up in advance. My local are dreadful about trying to reject anything. (They once tried to refuse a refund for a friend who had been palmed off with a chicken so off, it was green 🤢)

This is my fault, though, so if I can’t hand it in to CS without the third degree, it will be DDog’s lucky day!

Has anyone with a missing sock shop order actually heard from them? I had a dispatch notice on 11th but it’s never reached Royal Mail and I’m getting nowhere with the live chat and can’t find an email address for them, they said days ago they would investigate and email me but so far haven’t

@IlovePond if you do get stuck with it and really won't eat it, do you have a food pantry or community fridge near you? We're lucky enough to have an amazing community cafe near us with a fridge where anyone can leave or take food as needed. They'd love something like that!

Anyone else had an email to say they missed out on the chocolate orange. They've now framed it that it was a giveaway 🙄 They had very bad wording originally if that was the case
