I'm taking a punt here that we won't need another thread before Christmas, but feel free to prove me wrong!

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Hi, I went to the Harrods sale for about thirty minutes today, (seriously- I couldn’t take any more!) I haven’t been for over five years and it’s changed quite a lot, and not for the better, ime.

Having said that, there were some good reductions on perfume. There were also reductions on gift sets, including the 24 day a/c for just over £100. Clinique and Shiseido also had some good reductions.

It’s my birthday today so DH bought me a reduced Shiseido giftset and I was able to use my £5 reward that was about to expire, (every little helps!) The lovely girl at the counter wrapped it in a furoshiki cloth for me free of charge.

I thought these beautifully wrapped gift sets, (see pic), would make good presents if anyone is visiting the Harrods sale irl in he near future.

For anyone still waiting for converse I am kinda in the same boat. I done 3 seperate orders on the 19th.

1st order with one pair in for me.
2nd order with one for DSIS, diff colour for me and one for mums work friend.
3rd order with one pair for niece.

Both the first and third order arrived with parcel force on the 24th but I’m getting the same error as everyone else when checking the tracking for the 2nd order. Bizzare really as they were all ordered within mins of each other 😵‍💫

Ive emailed Parcelforce and they’ve said to check with converse when they are expecting the order to be collected as parcel force hasn’t received it yet.

Called converse and they said it should be on the move after the Xmas period and could be travelling from their warehouse in Germany. They advised if the tracking doesn’t update by Tuesday to give a call back.

I also went to Uniqlo in Covent Garden, and they had some good reductions, plus some of the Anya Hindmarch collaboration in stock.

Thanks @Waffles21 - I can’t express how truly grateful I am that I was able to get out for the day under my own steam - public transport and all!

It was lovely to see the Xmas decorations in town and the little stalls at Trafalgar Square too.

I didn’t see a huge amount of bargains - most places were doing 20%-30% off a very limited range of things.

Happy with my half price jacket from Uniqlo, though - I have one already in a different, very vibrant colour and it’s lovely, so happy to have one in a more ‘wearable’ shade!

I currently have a few things in my basket for Regatta but the returns charge is giving me pause. I do need a new padded coat/jacket but am worried about sizing. Do people find Regatta come up small?

Yes I bought the global gizmos one it's fabulous the kids have really enjoyed it. I bought it from other recommendations here. I bought a second hand one from eBay for £13 and it's been worth every penny.

Very tempted by the Regatta sale. Any recommendations for a warm, waterproof jacket please?
