I'm taking a punt here that we won't need another thread before Christmas, but feel free to prove me wrong!

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

If you have any voucher codes to share (or want to check for any) then have a look https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/5212144-sharing-voucher-codes

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes here . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

Stock informer is a handy site http://www.stockinformer.co.uk/default.aspx?fullsite=1

Camelcamelcamel is a great amazon price tracking tool http://uk.camelcamelcamel.com

The following links compare price products including postage

Does anyone have any recommendations for bargainous dinner plate sets please?

This set is great quality for the price. We bought it intending to replace when I saw a good deal on a better set but it’s really lovely and suits our needs so we’re still using it. We also got a 4 pack of matching mugs for £5.

We went real life sales shopping yesterday and Next had some decent bits in the womenswear sale for a change.

Famousthehero · 28/12/2024 09:37

£5 for this little Prosecco and glasses set

LoveHearts69 · 28/12/2024 09:57

Anyone else still not got their converse? My Evri tracking still says ‘we’re expecting your package’ but I ordered on 20th.

Anyone else still not got their converse? My Evri tracking still says ‘we’re expecting your package’ but I ordered on 20th.

I ordered on the 20th (at 3:30am lol) and parcelforce is still saying it doesn't recognise the tracking number. I imagine the orders on the 19th for posted pre-christmas and the orders on the 20th will be posted after they're back in.

Wholetthedogsoutwhowhowho · 28/12/2024 10:06

For anyone else that bought the national geographic bug dig kit from home bargains, have you got an English bug guide? Ours has one but it's in all languages except English! Would have been nice for son to learn a bit about the bugs that he's dug out.

Justhereforthechristmasthreads · 28/12/2024 10:29

@Wholetthedogsoutwhowhowho have you got google lens on your phone? If you hold the phone over the info it will translate for you (not the most ideal solution I know)

BigBundleOfFluff · 28/12/2024 11:26

I've not got my converse yet and was just checking back on this thread to see if that was the same for anyone else! Mine has a code for Parcelforce but Parcelforce do not recognise it yet. My order was the 20th as well.

LoveHearts69 · 28/12/2024 12:02

Thanks for replying… hopefully it’s all okay if we’re all on the same boat for us who ordered on 20th then ❤️

Roundaboot · 28/12/2024 12:05

I ordered Converse on the 19th and haven't had them yet. Mine are also Parcelforce with a not recognised tracking number.

Puffalicious · 28/12/2024 12:16

Gosh, I'm the same- no Converse yet! Strange that some have them & some don't!

Talisin · 28/12/2024 12:32

Yep, me as well with the Converse. Ordered and had the email saying they’d dispatched on the 20th and no updates since from Parcelforce who are ‘unable to confirm the status of your parcel’.

SleeptightDaisy · 28/12/2024 14:14

I ordered the converse on the 20th and haven't received them yet too. My tracking hasn't changed the delivery is with evri.

Theraffarian · 28/12/2024 15:33

WHSmith in store only have 75% off lots of boxed games , checked but none of it is online .

Fuckingfuckssake · 28/12/2024 15:38

Just asking your collective advice if anyone has any expertise, I've been tasked with finding a laptop for work, just to complete admin related tasks and attend Zoom meetings, doesn't need to be touchscreen or have a lot of storage. Budget £300-£500, I'm absolutely clueless.

handmademitlove · 28/12/2024 16:20

@Fuckingfuckssake is it to be carried around a lot or mostly on a desk? As ruggedness comes in to play! I have used both Lenovo and Samsung at work - the Lenovo ThinkPad is much more rugged and is used by those who are out of the office a lot.

Screen size is also important - if you mostly use a second monitor, size not so important but there is nothing worse than trying to squint at an excel spreadsheet on a small screen! 15.6 is standard size but can get bigger or smaller.

You should look for something that is at least an i5 processor and at least 8gb ram if it is basically for admin....

TheCrow · 28/12/2024 16:34

Just a heads up that Card Factory's 50% sale doesn't work for multi buys so their 3 for £1.50 Wrapping paper is scanning as 50% off 99p per roll making them 50p each... or 3 for £1.50 😂 it doesn't say anywhere that the individual roll price is 99p either so it's a bit cheeky really

Fuckingfuckssake · 28/12/2024 17:08

Thank you so much @handmademitlove it will stay in one place, it's mainly so staff can access the Gdrive and complete forms as required and attend Zoom meetings. I can't thank you enough.

Broken12 · 28/12/2024 18:28

Claire’s have 50/75% off a lot In store which the buy 3 get 3 free on hair and jewellery applies to as well 😊

bizzey · 28/12/2024 20:43

Ohhh hello all again !!

I just couldn't satay away ..

I have a question...
Can any of you remember that there was a good bargain/deal /price or something on the

Anker phone battery packs things .

They are £19.99 at the moment.
Was that the good price ?
I have a feeling they were under £10.
And everyone was saying Anker was good and reliable?
