I have no idea what thread number we're on now Blush

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

If you have any voucher codes to share (or want to check for any) then have a look https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/5212144-sharing-voucher-codes

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes here . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

@CapybaraParty - I'm still waiting on a cocktail hamper from laithwaites. Has yours been dispatched yet? I'm still hoping mine is going to come!

CapybaraParty · 17/12/2024 07:37

@Yeknom I have no idea, the tracking doesn't work and the rest of the order was delivered on Sunday, Laithwaites can't tell me anything, they couldn't be less bothered. Sorry I'm not more helpful, I hope you get your hamper.

NoWordForFluffy · 17/12/2024 08:57

Are Laithwaites still using Yodel? Apparently Yodel have a massive backlog and are really struggling to get stuff delivered.

Iwanttoputmytreeup · 17/12/2024 09:16

@Yeknom
I had a cocktail hamper delivered Saturday but opened it as I was expecting something else and thought it was that....so far the messages have been to say my order has been delivered and I should look for it.....I have pointed out that yes it was delivered, but not the actual thing I ordered and waiting for a response.

They are still using yodel though which to be fair as someone put above are having big problems.

Boots £10 Tuesday is decent again. Britney & Christina Agulaira perfumes in there. Also some nip & fab stuff. Not as much stuff as usual this week though.

Tigerlilyxx · 17/12/2024 09:51

Do the sock shop Christmas crackers also have hats in them?

FilthyforFirth · 17/12/2024 09:53

My mum has asked for a nice hand cream and mascara as a late gift. I want to take advantage of Boots Tuesday if possible, as I start to trawl through anyone come across anything good?!

ImageMirror · 17/12/2024 09:56

Is anyone having problems with next online delivery? I ordered a load of clothes for next day delivery to store but had a notification to say they had been delivered to the wrong store!! I’ve just rung and they’re at a store 3 hours away, the agent suggested I go and fetch it…. So I asked him to cancel the order and he offered me £15 in compensation as an apology, however it looks like the order hasn’t been cancelled and there £15 hasn’t come through so I’m back on the phone

FernArable · 17/12/2024 10:02

Asda has the lush x oddballs gift set at half price for £10. So it’s two bottles of lush shower gel and either a pair of underpants or a hat. The hat alone is worth £20.

Even better at my Asda, Gateshead Metrocenter, they were scanning through for £7!

TheChirpyWasp · 17/12/2024 10:12

Some good deals on Elizabeth Arden at Amazon today

My daughter is really enjoying her Jurassic Jim crystal advent calendar, which I came across on here last year. Has anyone ever had the fossil one? I'm curious about what the contents are - are they obviously fossils or little bits of brown rocks? Is it only for true enthusiasts?

FilthyforFirth · 17/12/2024 10:15

Can I not use my advantage points online? I have £12 and my basket is £18 so I wanted to use points to pay the difference!

You can't part pay with advantage points. They'll only accept it for the total order.

I think your points have to cover the whole balance., don’t think you can use them as part payment

Ooh not seen these at my local Asda, are they online too? What a bargain!

The 4ft Disney Princess castle is £50 on Very today

Castle

Plus if you spend £75 through Quidco today after opting in you get £20 cashback!

Lots of other Quidco bonuses today too, I think there’s a £10 for fragrance that includes Boots. I’ve put my referral link up if anyone hasn’t signed up already!

RJnomore1 · 17/12/2024 10:34

I don't think it's lush, is it original source shower gels? Still good but a very different price point!

I’m not sure but I think the op might mean original source shower gel, not lush.

Wishihaveanotherone · 17/12/2024 10:39

@Threeboystwocatsandadog have you try https://www.mexgrocer.co.uk/ I used them all the time. The delivery is a bit pricey but overall good service.

FilthyforFirth · 17/12/2024 10:42

Ah ok, thanks @hugsandpugs and @Passthecoffee is that the same instore do you know?!

IlovePond · 17/12/2024 10:47

@FilthyforFirth - yes, Boots changed it a while back to encourage us all to spend more money in order to get more points so that - eventually- we might have enough to buy something worthwhile 🙀

hugsandpugs · 17/12/2024 10:54

RL shopping for me today - going to brave Primark! 😂😬 wish me luck. If I’m not on here later I haven’t made it out alive 😂

On a brighter note, top gift cards are doing 6.6% back on primark gift cards

Wholetthedogsoutwhowhowho · 17/12/2024 10:57

I'm on the hunt for a baby girl blanket around £5, it's just a little extra. Has anyone any ideas please? Going RL shopping this afternoon

hby9628 · 17/12/2024 10:58

@hugsandpugs excited for primark feedback. I could do with going but haven't got it in me!
