I have no idea what thread number we're on now Blush

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

If you have any voucher codes to share (or want to check for any) then have a look https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/5212144-sharing-voucher-codes

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes here . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

I don't think it's lush, is it original source shower gels? Still good but a very different price point!

It is original source! Sorry! I got too excited to post my ball and mixed my words up. Thank you for correcting me!

Do the sock shop Christmas crackers also have hats in them?

I don't think they do. I've received mine and they look great, but no mention of hats inside. I've just got some cheapie lidl ones to use as well, so people can get 2 crackers - one with a nice pair of socks, and one with the usual crap (and a hat!) 🥳

Arewesureitisntbedtime · 17/12/2024 12:02

I've seen people mention Stanley Cups on previous threads. If anyone is still looking for one they are on offer today for £35.99 in Lakeland as part of their advent deals - I don't how that compares to previous deals as it isn't something I've needed to buy

@Iwanttoputmytreeup ha! Similar story here - I ordered two hampers - one delivered fine. A second hamper was delivered, not something I ordered, phoned laithwaites to see if it was a gift from someone and they have no record of it.

So still waiting on the final hamper which was apparently despatched at the weekend. Really hoping it turns up this week!

Iwanttoputmytreeup · 17/12/2024 12:12

I have just had a reply to say they will come and collect the first order then send out my real order. I pointed out that's not good enough as I won't get my order in time for Christmas then amd since I have mistakenly opened the first parcel, I didn't think them collecting it to potentially re use it was a good idea....awaiting the ne to reply....

Oreyt · 17/12/2024 12:26

Royal Mail....

We all know it's their busiest time of the year but they know this and get in extra staff etc.

2 parcels from different companies were due today 8am - 12pm.

So I've stayed home.

Now they have both changed to 7.30am - 7.30pm.

Surely they hade a rough route?

Why not just stare those times from the start!!

Having been reminded that Fahlo exists 🤣🤣 does anyone have any good discount codes? I can see they are currently 2 for £20 which is good but I only really need one!

I don't know if it will work as may be account specific but looks general: FAHLOBDAY for 20% off

AgathaChristmas · 17/12/2024 12:35

Am having a little panic for my 2 almost 9 year old nieces (one on each side, so not related). Got them each two Harumika sets, but it doesn't feel like enough when I compare what I've got their siblings... help for small additional things for this age that won't break the bank?

Do they like Taylor Swift? We've got our nieces these and just the stickers alone will delight them https://www.amazon.co.uk/Unofficial-Taylor-Swift-Sticker-Activity/dp/0785844856

Claire’s have 30% off soft toys. Palm pals or squishmallows always well received I think by this age.

Although I might be about to add @ChristmasJumperz suggestion for DD2’s Jan birthday!

I'm not sure. The problem is that they both live across the country and I've not seen then much lately!

Argos have 7.5" Squishmallows in the 2 for £15. My kids of a similar age love those!

Actually... that's a good call. I have 2 left from a bargain haul from Claire's, so won't even need to spend extra!

Not sure why I didn't think of those (probably because my 5 year old DD loves them too!)

Got a lovely apologetic email this morning to say the suffragette mice are on their way. Phew!
