I have no idea what thread number we're on now Blush

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

If you have any voucher codes to share (or want to check for any) then have a look https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/5212144-sharing-voucher-codes

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes here . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

Several threads ago I was desperately in search of a paticular YouTube blind bag (last one we didn't have from the series) and someone recommend weighing as well as feeling the bags. Just want to say thanks as after 15 minutes of the woman in the shop thinking I was absolutely mad I managed to identify and get the right one so DS is going to be over the moon!

lifelongfrugaleer · 11/12/2024 17:48

Choc not working for me. Ah well I don’t need the calories

Looking4wards · 11/12/2024 17:53

Thank you @Hohohopeful for the chocolate link.

It wouldn't work for me the first few times but I changed my brower to Chrome and it went through.

hugsandpugs · 11/12/2024 18:04

Sorry can’t remember the posters name who recommended the pug Xmas duvet cover. Thank you so much though managed to win the bid at £6 so £8.99 including p&p. Will have a very happy DS this Xmas! X

I’m looking for gift inspiration for a very difficult person to buy for.

Active late 60s male retired
diabetic, doesn’t drink much
doesn't live near any obvious RHS gardens or National Trust places.
Has everything they need and won’t want anything clutter.

previous gifts have included clothing, books (but not a huge reader) theatre tickets

hobbies going on holiday and boating (but boat is pretty well equipped already too)

Elphaba17 · 11/12/2024 18:30

Thanks for the sockshop help this morning, order was placed with free delivery and free gift. I haven’t had an email confirmation yet though although money has been taken from my account. Did anyone else experience a delay?

CeeceeBloomingdale · 11/12/2024 18:30

I can't remember who was talking about Vera Tucci on the last thread but I bought some bobble hats there a few years ago and found the pom pom was genuine fur which made them ungiftable as that goes against my ethics.

Wellwhoknewthat · 11/12/2024 18:46

Had tried the Terry's link again and it went straight thru. Thank you @Hohohopeful

IDontKnowWhatYouMean · 11/12/2024 18:47

My meringues have been cancelled too. I definitely won't be re-ordering, I wasn't that bothered about them but was happy to give them a try at that price.
I might well have placed another order in the new year if I'd liked them, so it's their loss! Considering the code offered a similar price to their Black Friday deal, in my opinion they would have been better honouring it, it's not like it was a huge glitch they would have been making a loss on.

I've tried safari, chrome and secret mode and none of them are working for the chocolate orange. Gutted! Firm believer in everything happens for a reason, this must be because my waist line doesn't need it 😂😂

Hahaha maybe that's why it still isn't working for me too...

Joiedepotato · 11/12/2024 19:42

Many thanks, mine just went through for a mint one on Chrome incognito mode. 😊

Code Day1 takes 20% off women’s wear at Very.

Also works on footwear, including trainers, and they have the illusive gazelles that people were looking for.

Where's the link to terrys? none of the op is clickable on the app

Can't get any of them to go through.

I've just got off the treadmill so really shouldn't be trying to get free chocolate 😂

Puffalicious · 11/12/2024 20:23

Pinkladymel thanks for the snackverse tip. I've used your £5 referral & signed up for monthly- we'll see if it's worth it & then I'll decide whether to continue.

Great idea for snack obsessed DS18.

Does he have a dog or cat?

snowmanshoes · 11/12/2024 20:32

Try PLT (online) or Primark for those skirts
tbh they’re everywhere!
