I have no idea what thread number we're on now Blush

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

If you have any voucher codes to share (or want to check for any) then have a look https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/5212144-sharing-voucher-codes

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes here . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

Not sure I need anything else but keep those bargains coming just in case!!

chocolateisavegetable · 11/12/2024 15:25

Carrying this over from previous thread: Any ideas for a smallish hamper with interesting cheeses / pickles / chutneys please? Budget up to £20

hby9628 · 11/12/2024 15:29

@chocolateisavegetable I've ordered the ploughman's from here for DH. I've not used them before but the reviews are good
They've got a great pub themed one but he wouldn't eat the beer snacks (I honestly don't understand him...I personally love a beer snack!

Slightly panicked, as my L'occitane order is still saying processing. I ordered on 8th. I was finished but decided to order some nice presents for the teachers and TAs at DC2 SEN school as they’ve been brilliant. Hopefully they come before they break up for the holidays next week.

Ooh! Camping hammock is a great idea- never anywhere to sit down and camping chairs are a faff to carry about.

beetr00 · 11/12/2024 15:55

@hohohopeful

this thread had some interesting suggestions

wild camping

Arglefraster · 11/12/2024 16:05

@Hohohopeful a pocket/hand chainsaw went down very well for a similar child last year they're only about £10 (& great fun to use!)

Chocolateteabag · 11/12/2024 16:13

Has anyone got a code for The White Company?
DH has just landed a present requirement on me - which he could have mentioned when Black Friday was on!!!

Hohohopeful · 11/12/2024 16:27

Thanks for the wonderful camping ideas. Pocket saw may be the way forward as she has loads already.

Ooh yay mine has went through too! Thank you! Love a freebie x

LittleMousewithcloggson · 11/12/2024 16:59

My meringue bars got cancelled too because of the discount code which the website apparently shouldn’t have accepted on discounted products
no way am I re buying at the higher price
Shame they didn’t honour it - they could have got a lot of new long term customers

Thanks for the Terry's link. I clicked on 'claim now' and just got the whirling circle. Did anyone else get this?

IlovePond · 11/12/2024 17:15

@munchbunch12 - I tried multiple times and got a swirling circle. Just tried again with all capitals in my postcode and the orange ball version, (I really wanted to try milk or mint, but never mind), and it worked.

Thanks for the tip @Hohohopeful

Logic12 · 11/12/2024 17:16

My meringue bars just arrived, I must have ordered before they realised the discount error. Very happy with them, but a shame they're not honouring for everyone.

My postcode is already all in capitals... I tried to order one for DM using her address and email, and that went through. It just doesn't seem to like mine!

IlovePond · 11/12/2024 17:29

I think the Terry’s site is being a bit glitchy @munchbunch12 - I now have visions of thousands of Mumsnetters all clicking away!

I tried refreshing the page, which didn’t work, but followed the link agss again a few times.

Hope it works eventually 🤞

munchbunch12 · 11/12/2024 17:33

Thanks @IlovePond There's probably hundreds of us sat trying to do it! At least DM is going to get one, even if I don't!

I got this code emailed yesterday, so it should still be valid. 15% off and free delivery

I almost ordered those meringue bars as I am supposed to be avoiding gluten moving forwards. I am glad I didn’t - what shoddy and churlish behaviour from the company!

I wonder if they realise just how much bad publicity they have generated for themselves!

On a bargain note: The SDJ perfume dupes are back in my local Lidl and the SDJ body creams, (pink and red/pink), were in HB - £3.99 and £2.99 respectively.
