I have no idea what thread number we're on now Blush

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

If you have any voucher codes to share (or want to check for any) then have a look https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/5212144-sharing-voucher-codes

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes here . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

@hugsandpugs it was me with the Gousto deal - mine came today so hoping we’ll get loads of meals out of it for £7.99!!

A request for daft game recommendations please - in the past we’ve had success with things like Pie Face .. is there anything similar about nowadays?

Puffalicious · 11/12/2024 20:41

hugsandpugs and I were chatting about Oddballs last thread.

There's a new code for 15% off SLEIGH15 & it works on everything including already reduced items.

Their stuff is excellent quality (socks that have been worn for 2 years & are still thick & kept their colour. Underwear that keeps tight & secure) & well worth it. I can also vouch for the rugby tops & towels, & the hats are thick, cosy & colourful.

Free delivery & a free item when spend over £40.

Order 1: 3X men's boxers (random choice)
6X random socks
1X FREE hat (worth £20)
With the 15% off it was £34.50 (still get free delivery & free item as long as it's £40 before discount).

Order 2:
1X Mr Tickle pants
1X Mr Bump pants
1X Rolling Stones pants
1X socks (to take over the £40)
1X FREE hat
£37

Stocking stuff for 2X DS & present for brother sorted.

Code Day1 takes 20% off women’s wear at Very.

Also works on footwear, including trainers, and they have the illusive gazelles that people were looking for.

Sorry to be an idiot but where do you put the code in? I've had some bits in my basket for a while and I've just tried to check out and apply the code but cannot for the life of me see where to put it in 🙈

MamaK19 · 11/12/2024 20:46

Sorry if already posted as am still catching up with the thread but Very’s 12 days of Christmas started today with 20% of womenswear 💃

I am looking for bed socks for male size uk6 if anyone has anyone recommendations please?!
Heat holders look great but expensive at £15 per pair!
Ideally fluffy, or sherpa lined or brushed inside.
Thanks all! :)

They hide it 😅

Its the very last thing before you actually commit to paying, but it’s either at the very bottom of the page (on mobile) or at the right hand side (on desktop).

On step 3, payment.

Thanks for this, didn’t realise the free delivery and free item works after discount if you spend £40 originally. Might place another order 🙈

Has anyone seen skirts like these anywhere? DD just sent links but delivery is January! Hopefully I can find similar on the high street

Try Superdry for skirts like that. Here's a couple of examples but they have loads.

@BrieCamera Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza! I thought it wouldn't be my kind of thing, just a glorious card game of 'snap'... How wrong was I. We've played it with kids, teens, adults... Such a laugh for all ages (except be wary with teen lads... My hand took some walloping but it was worth it for the win) 😁

MerylSqueak · 11/12/2024 21:06

For those worrying about tumble drying Socks Sockshop lounge wear, I've had mine for a year. I wash them on 40 ( because they're black like dc's school uniform) and chuck them in the dryer on 'Extra dry' and they still look like new. They're great IMO.

To the PP who said about Sink and Sand - it's one of our primary aged children's favourite games.

LePetitMaman · 11/12/2024 21:11

Could only get the chocolate orange...non orange one 😆 is this just a solid ball of unflavoured chocolate?

It tastes a bit like the old Dairy Milk. Not aged Dairy Milk but pre-Mondelez recipe.

Any ideas to pad out a stocking for a 20 year old girl? Not too spendy.

Micellar water, lip balm, gift voucher to somewhere like Starbucks or Greggs, scratch cards, their favourite snacks 🎄🎅🧑‍🎄🎁

Fill your pants is one of the most ridiculous games we have paid in a while.

Puffalicious · 11/12/2024 20:23

Pinkladymel thanks for the snackverse tip. I've used your £5 referral & signed up for monthly- we'll see if it's worth it & then I'll decide whether to continue.

Great idea for snack obsessed DS18.

You're so welcome! Thanks so much, that will give me £5 off my son's next box, I really appreciate that! I hope you enjoy it. We're excited because it's been Europe so far and this is the first time it's so far! 😁

Also Throw throw burrito

I know, the twitching is real! Marketing obviously works, as they emailed me & I ordered! It's almost like someone knows what they're doing 🤣🙈

hugsandpugs · 11/12/2024 21:53

@Puffalicious have they sent out the free gift before even when the spend has gone under £40 after discount? When I’m applying discount code it’s saying spend another £6.75 for a free gift but the hat is still in the order summary if that makes sense? From when I added it before I added the discount. Just worried I’ll place the order and then they’ll take it off and say I didn’t qualify 😂

JoJothegerbil · 11/12/2024 21:57

I cannot get the chocolate orange freebie to work. Have tried Safari, Chrome and incognito Chrome bit nada. No festive freebies for me.

I'm very tempted by the sock shop loungewear. Have had it in my basket all day but not clicked 'buy' yet. Thinking it might make a nice extra gift for DH.
