Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.
It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

@bizzey - there was one on the Elizabeth Arden site a month or two back where people were able to buy the blockbuster set without a minimum purchase and get one or two free gift sets. EA sorted the glitch quickly and honoured the orders. I didn’t order.

Lots of people got multiple free birthday gifts in the ELF offer posted last month, but I just got the one!

That’s all I know about.

Still got the last few doors of the WS a/c on the go from last year - that was a glitch!!!

On Handsome Dan, not sure what the reviews are saying. I had a delivery from them yesterday, which included a Shacket. The items and quality are excellent, I was really pleased as it's for my BIL and he's had a bad year losing his Dad so wanted a good present. The delivery however took a while (2 weeks).

@pasinphoebe Have used them for several years. Usually prompt delivery, and good customer service.

If likely to buy again from them, it is worh paying for their annual postage (usually £9.99). Just remember, returns are not free but a return slip can be purchased at time of placing order (especially useful on large orders).

I've had an email saying the £10 will be credited. No mention of the Prosecco but as that was with the 2nd order I'm not too bothered!

How about a lock picking set, finger print set (I'm sure that's a thing!), escape room games or detective type games like cluedo.

Crime or forensic books? There's lots of young adult fiction or you could get some factual books (maybe read first or stick to kids/teen ones).

Computer games that encourage puzzle solving and logical thinking.

A voucher to visit the clink museum in London if you are local (the oldest prison). Or see if there's any other museums near you.

Fae Farm Switch Game has dropped to £19.99 on Argos and also in its 2 for £20 offer. It's described a a 'cosy farming game, but with magic, puzzles, fighting enemies'

Had my eye on it for a while as it's like Animal Crossing in some ways so suitable for young ones.

Great deal to get that and another Switch game for £20, including lots of other kid friendly titles.

Wise Women of this thread- please can I ask you, I missed Black Friday and now am urgently still looking for any JellyCat bargains, ideally on their food related cute cuddly toys. Has anyone seen anything like this?

My daughter is 19 and it's all about adidas atm. Apparently you need a different colour to match different outfits. She's got samba, gazelle and campus. She's lucky as fits children's so had some in children's which are much cheaper.

Yip my 20 and 16 year old have gazelle they and all their friends have stopped wearing airforce, vans, converse etc and it's Adidas Gazelles, campus and new balance.

@SugarIsHardtoAvoid Does it have to be an actual jelly cat as there are lots of dupes out this year
