Posting on behalf of @reastie hope you don’t mind 🎄 🎅

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.
It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.
Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!
@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps
A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:
It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
No affiliate links
No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
Be nice or leave
If you have any voucher codes to share (or want to check for any) then have a look https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/5212144-sharing-voucher-codes
The current referral thread for sharing referral codes here . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.
To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk
Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)
So starhellostar would look like this.
hello
Obviously use the * not the word star
Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work
Stock informer is a handy site ^http://www.stockinformer.co.uk/default.aspx?fullsite=1^
Camelcamelcamel is a great amazon price tracking tool http://uk.camelcamelcamel.com

@Sneezein3 , have you looked at Vera Tucci? They were doing mystery bundle of 10 pairs of fluffy socks for a tenner last year and arrived really quickly. Only downside is some of them are mink so though they're really warm and comfy, I question my ethics every time I wear them.

Im pretty sure that's the colour not the animal 🤓

Oh gosh I went down a rabbit hole on this one and apparently you can buy socks made from mink yarn , it’s hand stripped from living minks and then turned into yarn .

Ooh. Is it wrong I’m quite excited about getting this! Which one do you have? I’ve googled OXO and there are quite a few

Thank you so much for all the ideas and bargains on this thread, love having this as my annual treat in the run up to Christmas.

My tip is Warners Distillery for gin gift sets with 20% off if you sign up to the newsletter. Just bought 4 x cl bottles in a gift set for friends for £12 with free delivery as I bought x2

iridescentsnowflake · 11/12/2024 11:43

Can anyone recommend bargain couverture/ fondue chocolate for a chocolate fountain please? Have never used one before but it’s only for us so I don’t want to be paying the £18 for a bag that comes up when I search!

Clucket87 · 11/12/2024 11:48

@Delahot
I have this onee*
You can get it from other places, but honestly, I love it. Just like I have the oxo cheese grater, and that makes me stupidly happy lol.

I didn't go for Laithwaites but I am now considering a twitch! Does this tie you into a subscription at all?

Summerdew · 11/12/2024 12:11

@Reastie heads up on p39

Teens and men

If you're really struggling for a gift, the Snack verse box is brilliant.

This month is the 10,000 miles box, special for Christmas, which has countries like Japan and US for the first time ever.

I've got a referral code for £5 off but I'm mentioning this box purely out of wanting to help because it was a saviour for me and a big hit in our house.

Get a £5 off SnackSurprise box. Use coupon: REFFKT5R73QYF snackverse.com/

I actually kept the sub all year for my son as he enjoyed it that much and it's just such a nice little pick me up each month when he's working so hard at school.

MsHybridFanGirl · 11/12/2024 12:54

Not sure if been mentioned but Matalan have 30% off all nightwear instore (may be online too)

I did a Laithwaites order and it’s been great! (Not to encourage the twitching obviously!)

You can tick a box to make it a subscription but you don’t have to! It does make it even cheaper but I did a bit of research and some people were saying it was hard to cancel so I just did a one-off order 🎄

Fuckingfuckssake · 11/12/2024 13:13

@Delahot I also have that OXO tin opener, after a lifetime of buying crap I invested in this and I've never looked back.

Iwanttoputmytreeup · 11/12/2024 13:14

@ArthurChristmas22 They do do a wine subscription, but plenty of bottles, hampers and gifts etc that are one off purchase

Stelmosfire1 · 11/12/2024 13:18

I’ve just had a PayPal refund for my bargain flower and white merengues but not correspondence from the company 🤷‍♀️
I did order 2 and one is on its way so maybe it’s a once only deal

ShinyPrettyThings87 · 11/12/2024 13:21

Re: L'occitane I've just had an email that it's coming tomorrow, i can't remember who posted about the lack of comms from them yesterday or the day before (doesn't December fly in!!)
I ordered the day it was posted on here.

I had an email off Royal Mail this morning saying mine is due tomorrow too. No doubt I’ll miss the delivery though as he usually comes around 10am and that’s the exact time DD Christmas concert starts 🙈

Thanks again to whoever it was that posted the beat the parents board game bargain this morning. Glad I ordered when I did it’s gone back up to £10 now! 🙈

Also a big thanks to the poster who said about the Gousto/buy a gift deal. Ours arrived Monday and it’s an absolute steal for the price! We have fussy eaters so will probably be only me and DH using it so as the box is for 4 people for 5 days hopefully I can freeze some of the meat and make 10 meals out of it

SugarIsHardtoAvoid · 11/12/2024 13:33

Has anyone got any ideas for foodie/gardeny type gifts? for someone who likes the One Tiin recipes and trying out complicated Ottolenghi cooking on the weekend. Garden wise they like Sarah Raven style pretty plants in soft colours.

Lellyo · 11/12/2024 13:34

@hugsandpugs … don’t no if you are sorted for your Guinea pig bedding? , but if not check Terrys Fabrics out, I have just seen some on there. Not sure of price tho? I have ordered once from them, and the Oder was delivered fine 👍
