Posting on behalf of @reastie hope you don’t mind 🎄 🎅

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.
It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.
Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!
@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps
A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:
It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
No affiliate links
No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
Be nice or leave
If you have any voucher codes to share (or want to check for any) then have a look https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/5212144-sharing-voucher-codes
The current referral thread for sharing referral codes here . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.
To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk
Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)
So starhellostar would look like this.
hello
Obviously use the * not the word star
Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work
Stock informer is a handy site ^http://www.stockinformer.co.uk/default.aspx?fullsite=1^

I think I've seen it in B&M - I might be popping in later, so will have a look x

Thank you!

I haven't had my order yet but the confirmation said the prosecco would come with my second order!

Mine said "with your next delivery', which is what is said in the original message - £10 off and a bottle free in you next delivery"

Hi, My 12 year wants to be a police officer - I'm looking for related gifts - any ideas for him?!

IlovePond · 06/12/2024 11:36

@BourbonsAreOverated - you could try Sukin and/or Avene products.

Thank you. I will have a look. One of his friends uses the ordinary, but I didn’t put the two and two together.

Older teen DS has very bad eczema and uses The Ordinary with full approval of his dermatologist. It was caveated with “the best moisturiser is one that he will use, whether that is E45 or this”, but it has been fine for him.

Arglefraster · 06/12/2024 11:40

BourbonsAreOverated · 06/12/2024 09:54

wise people of the Christmas threads.
I need some nice toiletries for teen ds, he has sensitive skin so I want a nice decent product. I don’t mind spending a bit as it will be part of the present. I looked at loctaine yesterday but it didn’t feel special enough (although the price tag was!). He’s obsessed with nice smells (which I appreciate is at odds with sensitive skin!) so as a rare treat instead of the sanex stuff he normally uses.

I got some Bulldog stuff for teen DS - I can't vouch for it as unopened but chose the sensitive range & the scents sound nice /very him

The Ordinary and Inkey List tend towards unscented. Having had one with almost acne, the best we found was Cerave.

In general it seems best to keep scents away from aggravated skin, if he likes scented products I would go big instead on perfume/aftershave, keeping away from aggravated areas (just got DS Versace Eros Homme), deodorant and body spray.

Midwintermayhem · 06/12/2024 11:49

@Puffalicious I saw this geeky Christmas jumpers on hot UK deals yesterday and thought some of them were brilliant. Tempted but the friends one, could I BE more excited? 😂

MulticolourTriangles · 06/12/2024 12:02

My 10yo has just started to enjoy cooking basic meals, can anyone recommend any kitchen accessories/gadgets to go with the cook book and apron I've got her? Thanks!

NoWordForFluffy · 06/12/2024 12:10

WeMeetInFairIthilien · 06/12/2024 10:55

Mine said "with your next delivery', which is what is said in the original message - £10 off and a bottle free in you next delivery"

Mine was confusing. It said 'next delivery' about the Prosecco. But also about the coffee deal, which was in this delivery! 😬

Anyway, I've had my tenner refunded and confirmation that the Prosecco is in delivery 2 (it shows in your order confirmation).

Hi @MulticolourTriangles, sorry I don't have any recommendations but would you mind sharing the cookbook you bought? I've a 12 year old who enjoys cooking and baking as well. Thanks

Hi, My 12 year wants to be a police officer - I'm looking for related gifts - any ideas for him?!

I was a police cadet then a copper. My Mum and Dad used to buy me true crime magazines, but I was around 14 I think.

Couple of ideas from me, though. Police style notepad:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Tiger-police-elastic-notebook-pencil/dp/B004OE3TN8/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.20hiJe5C1KHx4bVysDXtuEeSBCBPrMMYqZa1T_Wat1tjrf1zQdsDA_ODHSg269amZ54mwIjeNmcczkQHhgqxlV0hIn4n_vHjxvZx6ZBfnjA-vwkk5X1E_665Tz1oKSw-_Mi3f7ynX1IhMX6ldA7xulnfNmn8PSrJXPLW4AnW0yyr4zVADTdtgY7iI1J1SpcE5d-fNlJBfOMnmMedEOBu-Q.tavQ9lfCvS6VdGhtFwyJMQOiVhg-DpClmFoYDN2y2xA&dib_tag=se&keywords=police+notebook&qid=1733487026&sr=8-3

Forensic science book for 9 to 12 year olds:

Also, keep an eye out on your local forces Facebook page / website for open days etc. I went to a few as a kid and loved them.

I'm still looking for a bargainous Christmas jumper for DS3. He's 12 almost 13, but he'd need age 15-16 or a small men's (he's slim.but 5ft 8). He has additional needs, so something fun would be great/ gamer related for bonus points.

I've been in bed (ruddy chest infection) so online, or RL shop suggestions that I could just pop in & out to over the next week, can't face my usual trawling.

Thanks

I've just had an email from IWOOT about Christmas jumpers Knitted Christmas Jumpers - IWOOT UK

Really happy with my Deans hamper, no damage and dd already started on the shortbread which she said was delicious. Will keep some and share rest with family. A bargain at that price and some where I will likely buy from again. Thank you to whoever posted the deal.

Has anyone seen snow spray in the shops? It's so pricey on Amazon.

Yeah I got some from home bargains, it’s in a blue can

My reply from Abel&Cole

I am sorry for the trouble with this. Can I just check where you found the code added onto your account? As it seems the one you were using was only limited to select accounts, we aren't able to add it back on for you due to this. I can add another code to use on your next 3 shops with us without the free prosecco though, just so you aren't totally missing out. I have gone ahead and added that code and that is all ready to go for you - apologies again for the confusion with this.

I wouldn't have ordered without the code/Prosecco so not entirely happy with this

supersun23 · 06/12/2024 12:45

That's odd, as my phone couldn't remember by previous log in, so I just set up a new account with a different email address and used the code. They didn't query it with me.

Piglets Pantry 20% off with code LOB20. I ordered the kids festive afternoon teas last year and they loved it on Christmas eve, so just ordered again

Of course I just ordered yesterday thinking they wouldn't have any more offers!

yoshiblue · 06/12/2024 12:59
