Posting on behalf of @reastie hope you don’t mind 🎄 🎅

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.
It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.
Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!
@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps
A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:
It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
No affiliate links
No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
Be nice or leave
If you have any voucher codes to share (or want to check for any) then have a look https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/5212144-sharing-voucher-codes
The current referral thread for sharing referral codes here . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.
To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk
Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)
So starhellostar would look like this.
hello
Obviously use the * not the word star
Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work
Stock informer is a handy site ^http://www.stockinformer.co.uk/default.aspx?fullsite=1^

My dd has just announced she would like a Pandora bracelet. Any ideas where I might get one on offer?

25% cash back today for Pandora via Quidco.

ChristmasJumperz · 10/12/2024 12:43

Popped to Waitrose today hoping they'd still have the snowflake palm pal that I regretted not buying a week ago, only to find lots of them all stacked on top of each other along with Santa ones and Reindeer ones all on 2 for £10 (usually £7.99 each). So I've got myself one as well as dd 😁

Babynumberthreeee · 10/12/2024 12:49

@paintyhands take a look at holy grail nails. They are stick on nails for adults. I use them all the time, they don't damage the nail at all and all you need to take the off is to soak them in something oily (i use coconut oil) to remove the stickiness.

They last around 2 weeks, and as a childminder I wash my hands ALOT!

That was a bargain! I've used Oddballs a good, few times, especially since my older DC both play rugby.

The towels are excellent- substantial but thin enough to fit in kit bags etc & wash & dry quickly. Also perfect for any DC at uni- drying towels can be a right pita & DC1 reports his Oddballs ones are most used due to this.

The underwear is great quality.

Yes both my boys play rugby (13&11) the 13 year old is in men’s clothes and underwear and a size 10 mens shoes! 🙈

He has one pair of oddballs boxers that I got in with a shower gel gift set from tesco and he said they’re comfy to wear so I thought I’d get some more bits & bobs for him to put by for Xmas as he’s at that age now where it’s all clothes & aftershave! 😂

I am gutted tho as when I placed the order I’m sure it offered me another mystery box for £10.80 as an add on and I accidentally clicked decline 😢👎

I don’t suppose anyone has a spare Argos code do they? I’m doing a large order and anything off would massively help. Thanks in advance

ChristmasReigndeer · 10/12/2024 13:06

The heated mouse mat we have is a Haocoo brand from Amazon and seems good but we haven’t had it long.

I honestly can't remember if I've used this one - A7MNKY7M2J5F
it's for a fiver off

wholenutcadburys · 10/12/2024 13:28

Looking to get an iPad 10th Generation but unsure what the cheapest place is? Saw them for £289 but hoping someone might have a code? 🤞🏼🤞🏼
Thank you in advance

This is good to know! My 12 year old wants a gel kit but I’m not keen - these look like a safer alternative. Does anyone know of any cheaper brands they would recommend? It will be a present from her grandma and the budget is about £40.

I've bought DD the Candycoat gel pen polish sticks as I thought it will be easier for her to do than using a brush on gel. Set came with 2 colours, the led lamp and some accessories for £25 and they have 20% off for new customers just now. Haven't tried it yet but it all looks nice.

please tell me he has a Volkswagen up/ Skoda citygo / seat mii
they have cradles that fit where the sat nav goes and are great.

Sadly no - it’s an Auris I think.

And his phone is an iPhone 11 which he’s happy with at the moment (plays lots of sport so don’t want a more expensive phone that he would have to worry about) so I’m not sure that it’s got the magnet to stick securely on that magnetic bar that someone has suggested above too (sorry can’t remember the name of the poster).

my ds has just revised his letter to Santa, asking for beyblades and a beyblade arena.
I thought I was done with present shopping! I’ve never bought these before and they seem pretty pricey for what they are…
does anyone know any good deals or where to look for them? Thank you

@Sunshine415 they seem to have made a comeback from the 90’s! Argos, smyths and Amazon have them. There’s a set on Argos with the stadium and two beyblades for £35. Otherwise if you just get two beyblades (so they can battle) you could probably just use a washing up bowl…

Is it the gel wraps you use or the non uv cure ones? TIA!

I always stick a metal sticker on the back of my phone case. I find the magnetic ones much less fiddly than the cradle ones.

That’s a shame.
I would urge caution with the magnet ones, get one on recommendation for one that someone’s used. I’ve used a magnet one before and it was crap. It came with the car and my phone just slides off (it’s a decent magnet on my phone)
Ive also used the vent ones before and you have to be careful with temperature of the car because it cooks or cools your phone.
window sticker ones do seem much better

Blackberrybrandy · 10/12/2024 14:22

@wibdib I can recommend the popsockets vent mounted phone holders. He'd need a pop socket to go on his phone case and then it just slides into the mount. I used mine in a car without the best suspension and the phone always stayed firmly attached no matter how much bouncing over pot holes I did on mountain roads.

Carrie76 · 10/12/2024 16:41

@wibdib the yosh phone holders are great. Magnet goes on the back of your car and the holder slots on to air vent in the car. Fully
portable

I have Argos £8 off £80 if any use to anyone A7ZPT2G2YMY7

Is there a cheaper way to get those jellycat key rings? I thought we’d outgrown such things but teen DD has said she would love one and she hasn’t asked for much this year. But they seem to be about 30 quid???

I get the £20 ones. Temptation Gifts have them £1-£2 cheaper sometimes. DDs 12 and 14 went through a stage of liking Squishmallows then that stopped now there into JK 😫😫

Oreyt · 10/12/2024 09:38

@Lellyo

I'm missing something. Why is it freezing because it's a box bedroom 😂😂

@Oreyt …. No idea….. he probably just likes to moan🙈🤣🤣

Any idea of crackers which would be particularly enjoyed by small children?

Buy any you like the colour of, cut off the string/ribbon at one end, open it out and empty out contents
put hat and joke back in with a wind up toy, finger lights or even just some sweets
tie end back uo
kids will love it

Just don’t make the mistake I did one year when I put whistles in the kids crackers…

Fortunately that was also the year I put miniature bottles of alcohol in the adults ones. It helped!

Distractiontactics · 10/12/2024 18:02

I’m not sure if this has already been posted, but Quidco apparently has £5 bonus on eBay purchases over £15, plus a code for 20% off fashion. I can’t see what the code is, though! Has anyone managed it?

TheChirpyWasp · 10/12/2024 18:08

Anyone with fomo over the deans shortbread …..
