Posting on behalf of @reastie hope you don’t mind 🎄 🎅

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.
It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.
Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!
@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps
A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:
It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
No affiliate links
No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
Be nice or leave
If you have any voucher codes to share (or want to check for any) then have a look https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/5212144-sharing-voucher-codes
The current referral thread for sharing referral codes here . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.
To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk
Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)
So starhellostar would look like this.
hello
Obviously use the * not the word star
Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work
Stock informer is a handy site ^http://www.stockinformer.co.uk/default.aspx?fullsite=1^
Camelcamelcamel is a great amazon price tracking tool http://uk.camelcamelcamel.com
The following links compare price products including postage

I have a baby niece who was born September but is only just fitting into 1month baby clothes. Any recommendations? My own babies are now 13 and 16 so it’s been a while and I’ve no clue what’s useful for babyhood!

daisyboo1 · 09/12/2024 14:28

Have sent you a PM @fishfingersandchipsagain

Threeboystwocatsandadog · 09/12/2024 14:35

@fishfingersandchipsagain I have put one on the referral thread.

Justkeepsmilingx · 09/12/2024 14:41

Long shot……I need a reindeer outfit for Friday (!) - don’t ask - no pressure !

Its to fit 2-3 but would go anything close to that at this point.

doesn’t need to be new but tried Amazon, Asda, EBay etc and nothing to be had under about £25 - which I am determined not to spend - even a onesie would probably do at this point.

Have any of you lovely ‘virtual’ friends and fellow bargain hunters seen anything.

thanks

Hello Christmas cringles!!

Two things from me...anyone know of a good heated seat pad or throw my DH could use whilst WFH in our chilly home office?

Second one...bit of a throw back. In Woolworths back in the day there used to be miniature drinks cans by the pick n mix section. Anywhere else offer this sort of service? I want a couple of flavours but in the mini cans, don't want to be buying a multi pack. Feels like a unicorn dream!

I've had vinted stuff get to me in a few days by asking the seller if they can post next day delivery. That an option?

Marketplace?

How about this?

It will be a bit big but could be a dressing gown alternative for a good few years

@Justkeepsmilingx or could you make something like this??

The ones that are like 150ml? I'm sure I've seen them in the mixer aisle beside booze??

I’ve tried marketplace. I can’t seem to download the vinted app - will it work as a webpage…. Off to try

IlovePond · 09/12/2024 14:58

@Justkeepsmilingx - a bit random, but this is a reindeer pet coat from Tesco - with a bit of adaptation, it could perhaps become a reindeer hood and cloak for a small child?

https://www.tesco.com/groceries/en-GB/products/317195787

There’s this one, but delivery could be too late - you could always order then send it back if too late, (or try contacting the seller - they’re in the UK):

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Smiffys-30774-Reindeer-Costume

Also Sainsbury’s have this, which you could make more reindeery with a fetching pair of headband antlers:

If all else fails, just a hat and jumper?:

Sock ons!!

Or second the match stick monkey, or a teether necklace mum can wear. We had a tails book which was much loved the first year. Lots of textures and noises etc, came with us everywhere.

Someone made my baby a crochet teddy for her first Christmas and she still sleeps with it every night 4 years later.
