Posting on behalf of @reastie hope you don’t mind 🎄 🎅

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.
It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.
Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!
@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps
A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:
It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
No affiliate links
No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
Be nice or leave
If you have any voucher codes to share (or want to check for any) then have a look https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/5212144-sharing-voucher-codes
The current referral thread for sharing referral codes here . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.
To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk
Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)
So starhellostar would look like this.
hello
Obviously use the * not the word star
Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work
Stock informer is a handy site ^http://www.stockinformer.co.uk/default.aspx?fullsite=1^

I would love a nio offer if someone doesn't need it, please could you PM me? Thanks so much 😊

Anyone intending to pick up the free boots mascara, don't rely on the stock checker too much. My local boots shows as having it is stock on the website, went there straight after checking, only to be told they ran out hours ago.
Might be best to call ahead if going out especially for this offer.

I went to boots around 11am, staff in shop said people had rushed in to grab what they had around 8.30am. They didn't have many to start with. Rubbish of Boots, I deliberately didn't buy anything else while I was in there. I assume it's a way to get into people into store, and at least a % will then buy other things without getting the freebie.

hugsandpugs · 07/12/2024 19:32

So DH has sent me £40 to get myself something for Xmas…

I REALLY want a vinyl from Imagine Dragons - ‘smoke and mirrors’ album but it’s sooo hard to get hold of. Amazon have it for £47 something but that’s out of budget. Not even HMV have it and they usually have majority of vinyls I am on the look out for. This is the only one I need to complete their album collection - my fave band! If anyone can think of anywhere else to try please let me know 😊

I got my Deans Xmas hamper yesterday and just wanted to post a little pic of the box for anyone curious as thought it looked decent enough for gifting. Everything secure inside so might just wrap as is!

Does anyone have a Cartwright & Butler discount? Best I can do is 10%.
Would like to buy a hamper, but it's rather expensive.

IlovePond · 07/12/2024 19:49

Interesting @STom2 / mine was just a plain box - they must be running low on the patterned ones due to all the orders!

IlovePond · 07/12/2024 19:53

@hugsandpugs - have you tried phoning round independent secondhand record stores? We sold all our old vinyl to a guy who owned a secondhand record store. We didn’t get much for it, (and some of it was very rare), but couldn’t see the point of trying to sell it on eBay.

The guy we sold to is prepared to ship stuff, I think.

janney3 · 07/12/2024 19:56

My Deans hamper has arrived and is lovely. Amazing customer service from them too, I would 100% recommend and use again. Thanks to whoever posted.

I have yeah, I’ve been keeping an eye out for it for agessss. Just managed to find one on eBay that apparently is in near mint condition for £25 plus £5 p&p so £30 overall. Thinking of going for that as can’t see me getting it any cheaper 🙈

I wondered if it was a different box becasue it was the Christmas hamper rather than the super bargainous BF one. But if yours was a Christmas one too I guess that throws that theory out the window 😂

Bluenose1966 · 07/12/2024 17:16

Same for me, great reviews as well.
Many thanks @beetr00 Got them for my golf mad husband who plays in any weather!!!

Thanks - just charged me £5.82! Great bargain as been dithering over some of these 🙂

Waffles21 · 07/12/2024 20:08

Thanks so much for the fab hand warmers deal, perfect for a friend with Reynards! My Deans hamper also arrived today and in perfect condition, will definitely use them again! I think I’m almost there, just one last add on for some friends- I’ve got them a cheese making kit, Emma Bridgewater star star plate(!), the edge of the border tin from deans ( they have a border terrier) and would like something else to kind of tie in- they do a star cheese in Waitrose but can anyone think of anything else please up to about £10?! Thanks.

What is the Nio offer? 45% off of what?

Although I am now officially done, so should not be twitching.

I did a big stocktake of all the presents today and compared to the list (thanks so much to the person who recommended the gift list app - it is an absolute godsend!)

I now have a small pile of returns where things were not quite right, or usurped by a later bargain. This is the time of year when I live in fear of Amazon banning me for returning a half dozen items 😅

I had one fail. I ordered a bargain projector from Amazon in October (£35ish). Then last week, once everything was bought and budgets added up, I decided I could stretch to the model up (£60ish with bluetooth rather than a cable). Unfortunately I forgot that Amazon don’t have an extended Christmas returns window, so I can’t send the original back 🙄

Embarrassingly I also have a medium sized box full of things for me, either from bargains or freebies 😊I will keep it tucked away at the back of the wardrobe (as previous years) until Boxing Day. It’s my stocking to myself, given all the effort I put into other people’s.

Nio offer was 45% off a box of 6 pick n mix cocktails. I don't think it included the whole range but there was a good selection. Came to under £25 with the offer but you can add some more drinks as over £25 is free postage (but postage only £3 anyway!)

HopefulBeliever · 07/12/2024 20:14

Has anyone seen good offers on shower steamers and I need a tennis themed gift for my nephew who’s just bought his first house. Ideally I’d like a mug that I could buy in store somewhere (scarred by my last EB purchase I think RM played football with). Has anyone seen anything?
thanks

MilkyBadBoy · 07/12/2024 20:21

I know there’s always a lot of talk here about the infamous tape dispenser. For the less seasoned amongst us, is it just a regular office-type affair? If so, I picked this one up in Aldi today for £1.99… would never have considered it otherwise. No tape included though!

The one where there’s 20 days til Christmas
IlovePond · 07/12/2024 20:22

That explains it @STom2 - mine was the BF one!

LOpportunityCestFuckingEnorme · 07/12/2024 20:23

The hand warmers are now back to actually 50% off rather than £10 off.

Try banquet records in Kingston they do mail order and are amazing

Imagine Dragons - Evolve

CD: £10.99; LP: £27.99 - The third studio album from the breakthrough band Imagine Dragons, following up from 2015's Smoke And Mirrors. Huge and full of passionate indie-rock anthems…

beetr00 · 07/12/2024 20:26

I've seen many recommendations for Outsmarted on this board.

It's currently £19.99 here

hopefully a decent price?

hugsandpugs · 07/12/2024 20:26

@beetr00 @IlovePond thank you both for the suggestions. The seller on eBay had it up for £34 buy it now and £5 p&p for tracked postage but I cheekily asked them would they take any less. They’ve knocked £9 off so got it for £30 including p&p so well happy with that 😊🙏
