Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

That’s a nice idea I didn’t think of that. I’m happy to do the same as by the time I got to collect any of mine last year they’d ran out.

Looks like Deans of the shortbread hampers are doing more deals in December. Today's one is 2 tins of chocolate shortbread rounds for £8. Not as bargainous as the hampers but might help someone.

I had a basket ready to check out with the 45% offer, when it occurred to me just to check the offer as I had spent a long time shopping and it was just after midnight . Sure enough, it had expired at midnight, so I logged out!

I am new to TCB but have found them very slow to acknowledge a CB track. I have only ever had one email from them to say something’s tracked and it’s often taken a couple of days for things to show on my account.

Hopefully everyone’s CB will track soon 🤞

Re: JL advent rewards.

I remember it was a fiasco in my nearest last year as they had insufficient numbers of the gift to meet demand and wouldn’t restock. Hopefully they’ve learned from last year and will be better organised.

Please can anyone who goes to redeem the chocolate let us know how it goes. (Earliest I could go to JL would be Tuesday🙀)

There are quite a few companies with big tcb % today including crocs and notonthehighstreet. I've just bought something from noths as it was cheap anyway and it's tracked wrongly. I'll raise a ticket and see what happens.

A dismal collection of Sparx offers for me, (at least it’s not my usual 15% off pre-prepared lettuce!) I shan’t be rushing off to Marks today😹

My nearest JL is 2.5 hours away. I am there later this week so I better have some good treats from them that i can pick up!!!

@mumonthehill - if I remember rightly last time - everyone was offered a freebie on Day One, (and they couldn’t meet demand), then the rest of the offers was money off things I didn’t want.

Disappointed by M&S and Lidl’s ‘generous’ offer of a freebie Santa with a £25 spend will probably go unclaimed as I rarely spend that much in one go there.

Does anyone work in a supermarket and know if the advent calendars will be reduced today or tomorrow? Or will they just be put away? Thought you guys would be the best people to ask!
It’s only for me and DH and we just want a chocolate one each I can get to a Tesco easily but also sainsburys and Asda.

I’ve just checked TCB again and my Superdrug cashback is now shown as pending, it’s taken over 10 hours. Perhaps the system is overwhelmed as it was such a great offer. Hope it eventually pays out!

This is a great price for a 6ft, pre-lit, tree (£90) if anybody is still in the market for one!

Can't remember who originally posted the bargain gem advent calendars on the prequel threads, but whoever you are, you have made DD5's day!

I didn't tell her that we had a gem calendar, so when she opened it this morning and found a beautiful amethyst she was super excited (not sure why she is into gems atm, but beats a chocolate calendar!). She has spent the last hour staring at it through the included magnifying glass and trying to draw it...

I was buying an SSD for DS’s computer. The cheapest (just) was Amazon but generally SSDs fluctuate in price quite a lot.

I wanted to buy at the current price but deliver later in the month, so if it comes down in price I can cancel.

If you select a “no rush” delivery on Amazon it takes 2% off the price.

@Mrssalvatore123 i ordered the battle bus direct from Lego and it said 4 weeks to dispatch but i received it in a week. Might be worth a gamble if you can’t get it anywhere else.

I still haven’t received my BF hampers or received a dispatch notice. They were ordered separately a week ago. Anyone else still waiting?
