Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Hi, i remember someone earlier in the threads saying they had a problem with boots 3 4 2 offer and i just wondered if you got it sorted as i’ve had the same issue. I ordered 3 gift sets and have just had an email to say they can only send two and the third (the free one) so i effectively have lost out as i have paid the same for the two gifts as i would have for one.

It was me, I had all items delivered but the cheapest one was damaged, and no I didn't - they won't send me a replacement, it's not in stock in my local Boots, and they won't refund me as it was technically free! I've had multiple emails with Boots customer care but no joy.

Sorry you've had a bad experience too, it is really annoying as you spread the total cost across the three items when deciding to buy, then in effect you're paying more than you agreed to for the two you got. I know technically you're not, you're just paying the full price, but it feels like you're getting ripped off.

@nothingcomestonothing oh no! Sorry to hear you haven’t managed to get it sorted! So frustrating and agree i bought the three because it made each gift £10 each instead if £15 and meant they were in budget! Definitely wouldn’t have just bought the two and typically it is the one i particularly wanted that they wont send. I have messaged them on twitter in hope of some help but looks like Boots are having a lot of company at the moment looking at that!

Just to say I ordered the deans Black Friday hamper on the 24th, and I’ve just received an email to say it’s arriving tomorrow.

Regarding Boots, just go in-store and take the things back or send back for a refund. I wouldn't stand for that, it's ridiculous!

I even had problems with Boots in store.

I picked 3 mens gift sets off of a shelf that had huge signs all over it saying that items with the green gift box logo were 3 for 2.

When they scanned, it didn’t deduct the 3rd one.

When I pointed out the green sticker on each of the items, and the signage, they just said it “might be because they are reduced” and wouldn’t do anything about it.

How long do Claires account vouchers take to apply between “claiming” the reward in your account and actually being able to spend it? It says “up to 5 days”?

Thanks @Waffles21 - I have heard nothing from Deans and am a bit annoyed now, so if there is no email by tomorrow, I will call them. I don’t mind waiting, it’s the lack of an update I object to.

I am also getting worried about LF, SpaceNK and Boots - absolutely nothing since I paid them rather a lot of money!

I ordered the Deans shortbread hamper on the 25th and have just received an email from Royal Mail saying it will be delivered on Thursday.

In Waitrose tonight they had orchids reduced. They also had some very reduced Xmas plants in the plant section. I bought some and hopefully will be able to look after them properly!

I got one in a nice pot for £2.35, a little red number for £1.75 and a pot of chrysanthemum for £2.59. I only went in for a loaf…

Selfridges has half price advent calendars. Just ordered Scottish whisky advent calendar for £50 (rrp £155).

Whilst shopping irl in a big shopping centre today, I noticed that most places had put their prices were back to normal after the reductions of yesterday/last week. I went in one shop and came straight back out, thinking that if I’d wanted it, I should have bought when there was a 30% reduction 🙈

I always find mine lands exactly 7 days after my order/purchase
