Reastie · 30/11/2024 11:54

One more sleep until December!! Get your Christmas duvets, stollen and mulled wine and the ready as the festive season is well and truly here!

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

If you have any voucher codes to share (or want to check for any) then have a look https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/5212144-sharing-voucher-codes

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes here . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

Stock informer is a handy site http://www.stockinformer.co.uk/default.aspx?fullsite=1

Camelcamelcamel is a great amazon price tracking tool http://uk.camelcamelcamel.com

The following links compare price products including postage

www.find-cd.co.uk
www.find-dvd.co.uk
www.find-game.co.uk (as in PS4/xbox etc)

Matalan still have 20% off if you spend £60. Three cuddle cushions worked out at under £50 instead of £66 with click and collect.

They did this to me but on the actual item, not just the box (a diary which is supposed to be a stocking filler from Santa). I can’t get the sticky residue off and the material is soft so I don’t want to ruin it 😕

Go on the online chat and see if they will resolve it by replacing it free. Sometimes they Are really helpful.

12 days of Xmas offers are a dud for me this morning:

Lidl - money off almonds, (allergies in the house!)
20% off JL nightwear - no thanks
Quadruple points if you buy a Boots Meal Deal - that one made me laugh!

Elphaba17 · 03/12/2024 08:07

There was a post a while back with two Look Fantastic codes that were ongoing but I can’t find the post again. Does anyone remember the post?

Has anyone had an order update off Superdrug yet? Mine says processing still

I ordered late Saturday night and had a dispatch email this morning

fishfingersandchipsagain · 03/12/2024 08:16

Thanks for all the T-shirt suggestions. I was absolutely overwhelmed by the cyber-Monday deluge yesterday.

I’m going to go with the Hollister ones but will wait to see if an offer comes though. I can’t bring myself to buy them today at full price knowing that yesterday they were 30% + 20% off.

WeMeetInFairIthilien · 03/12/2024 08:18

Able and Cole

It can be a one off delivery.

I've used them in the past to send a cheese box, and wine to my DM and DD, on a 4 weekly basis (cheese club). That was set up as a standing order- a bit like with the milkman. Every 4 weeks I was sent an email, to ask if I wanted to add anything else to the delivery.

It was super easy to set up, and super easy to stop.

I've also used it to send a stand alone present. On the Christmas gifts, there is the option to "send once".

You do have to pay £3.99 delivery.

Thank you everyone for the outsmarted responses, I'll be picking that up now I know I don't need a smart tv ☺️

It really is good fun! Me and dd tested it the other day and have been playing it daily since! Just on our phones without the board! 😊

I have an XR box if that's similar? I think it's a more basic version of the XS. Happy to send you photos if that's helpful and wouldn't want any money for it.

Justhereforthechristmasthreads · 03/12/2024 09:15

@VeruccaSalty check the actual outsmarted website. They had offers on various bundles (and someone I think said CART10 was working)

Christmasmcchristmasface · 03/12/2024 09:18

I am so tempted by outsmarted but there are 7 of us so feel like someone would always be left out unless my someone partners up

OrangeCorduroy · 03/12/2024 09:24

@Dropthepilots Thank you for this - got a couple of perfect presents 😊

We do teams sometimes because the setup of the game is quite annoying if you have good players or if you play all 6 pieces. The streaks are endless because turns don't finish even after "cheeses" (or rings as they call them)! They do decrease the timer as the streak goes on but if someone is good then that often doesn't matter.

We've had games where someone has had 2 or 3 rings while the other players just sit there so it can be frustrating in that respect.

Those of you who got the Deans BF Hampers, were they delivered by DPD? I'm trying to work out what's being delivered today after texts and emails from DPD but I've not had a dispatch email from the shortbread peeps themselves. My messages refer to Fullers Fulfillment

toooldforbrat · 03/12/2024 10:04

I know its not a bargain - but received this newsletter this morning and it has some nice ideas on gifts that give back and support smaller charities.

(and Patrick in a blanket should brighten everyone's Tuesday morning)

hby9628 · 03/12/2024 10:13

Is there no boots £10 Tuesday today?

I'm struggling for my 10yo DD. I've got her some Lego, clothes, trainers. What have other peoples 10yo asked for. She loves football but the Kickabout interactive football we were going to get her is oos. I've looked at soccerbot but the reviews are dodgy.
