One more sleep until December!! Get your Christmas duvets, stollen and mulled wine and the ready as the festive season is well and truly here!

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

If you have any voucher codes to share (or want to check for any) then have a look https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/5212144-sharing-voucher-codes

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes here . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

Stock informer is a handy site http://www.stockinformer.co.uk/default.aspx?fullsite=1

Camelcamelcamel is a great amazon price tracking tool http://uk.camelcamelcamel.com

Bridal beauty Co has £10 off a £20 spend with CM10.

I went for the hen party set for £20 but was tempted by £15 all in for the sheet mask collection (delivery is £5). Definitely a treat for me instead of a Christmas present but I think I deserve it!

Morning.
Any recommendations on the best ancestry kits? There seem to be a few good deals. Thanks.

Good morning. Can anyone recommend a decent but bargainous blue tooth shower speaker. It’s for teen DD. There are so many out there so a recommendation would be much appreciated. Thanks!

My teen DD has this one, and she also bought her same one for her best friend's birthday present so I assume it passes muster:

Home Bargains had some of the Cats vs Pickles Chonks for less than £2 but it was a little while ago so I'm not sure if they're still there. They also have the Dogs vs Squirls cheap if it doesn't have to be cats and pickles specifically!

The dogs would be brilliant also! I’ll have a look, thank you 🤩

No you just download the app on phones or tablets.

Midwintermayhem · 02/12/2024 08:16

Any suggestions for a small cross body bag with a wide opening top please? DM is in her eighties and just needs to be able to get her purse, keys, phone in it easily. Decent quality more important than total bargain. Thanks

My friend has one of these and I’m jealous! They look nice and she said it’s really durable:

Hi, having ignore the fake Oodie chat for years, I suddenly need to buy one. It's for a child, but apparently they want it to be super over-sized so have asked for an adult sized one, and reasonably thick. Has anyone spotted any in the sales, or have recommendations for where to find a bargainous but reasonable quality one? Max budget is £20. Thank you!

WeMeetInFairIthilien · 02/12/2024 08:50

It's on Quidco, not tcb. OP had her wires crossed!

nobodygoes · 02/12/2024 09:08

On TopCashback Currys have really good offers today such as 15% back on all tvs.

Iwanttoputmytreeup · 02/12/2024 09:08
  • *@fishfingersandchipsagain I think all those offers are actually on Quidco :) ....looks like when you click on the double cashback it opens a list further down and presume it adds it on automatically
ShinyPrettyThings87 · 02/12/2024 09:13

@Bsgetty there's a seller called True_face who sells on eBay and Amazon. This one is £12.99 ATM on Amazon but check the eBay site to see which is cheaper. The designs same as Oodies are the genuine ones.

Onlinehomeshop.co.uk

I really would buy a kids oodie not an adults - an adults would swamp a kid and make it impossible to walk.

Some bad reviews for this site but all my oodies come from it and are great

A couple of threads ago I recommended the North Face Thermoball slippers as a good gift for teens / adults. They are amazing but expensive, so just wanted to say that you can now get the cream/silver version for only £39 at JD and other colours on ASOS for just over £40.

hope that helps. If you don’t need them for Christmas you’ll get them cheaper in the sale.

Placed an order on Etsy half an hour ago. Now they've pinged me on the app saying CYBER42 gets £5 off a £25 spend. I can't be doing with this nonsense I really can't, I just want Friday's and Monday's to go back to normal! I know I'm supposed to appreciate a discount but I wanted to buy quick because the shop had 10% off and now it turns out I moved too soon!! Doesn't look easy to cancel to reorder so we've decided to suck it up.
