Thread 13 - the one where I'm dashing for the school run!

1000 replies

Reastie · 22/11/2024 07:25

Apologies for the rubbish title - I'm trying to get the kids ready and don't want my daughter to miss the bus!

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

If you have any voucher codes to share (or want to check for any) then have a look https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/5212144-sharing-voucher-codes

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes here . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

@NC2709 not sure but my code came through straight away. Is it worth trying a different email address?

WoollyMammoth1 · 25/11/2024 22:50

Don't think it has been mentioned yet, but the official Taylor Swift UK store has up to 40% off selected items for a limited time.
Welcome10 gives 10% off, works on discounted items too

Had anyone seen any good deals on a decent laptop? We need one for the occasional PowerPoint, email, online shopping, and watching films. And managing a house build in excel 🫣 there are definitely discounts but I have no idea where to even start!

I keep seeing cashback on Dells via TopCashback. I have a Dell XPS which I bought this time last year. I think I got £30 cashback and then more when I bought a few accessories. It was already on offer for Black Friday so was a good deal as the TC tracked.

YAY20 takes an extra 20% off at Regatta

Fuckingfuckssake · 25/11/2024 22:51

@Reastie we're nearing the end of this thread.

Tomorrowisyesterday · 25/11/2024 22:52

I was convinced I'd seen someone post about a site they bought Nike stuff from (not the Nike.com one) and have been searching for it throughout this whole thread tonight. Still not sure if I imagined it!

christmaspudding43 · 25/11/2024 16:33

Was there a discount at John Lewis (or somewhere else) on Stanley quenchers? I feel like I've seen one but no sign online.

I need this too! Struggling to find anything though

I happily checked my basket out after filling it last night. Hope you were lucky too x

All good thanks. Hope my nieces like them. 🤗

Secret sales and ASOS both have sales on Nike stuff

Is the deans 10% code generic as I've signed up yesterday and still not got a code? Thanks!

Might be obvious but have you refreshed junk? They have a customer service dept so I'd be in to them first thing in the morning!

Take a look at John Lewis. I bought a Lenovo 16gb ram slim 3 i5 laptop with 1 year of Microsoft for £379 in black Friday deal. The laptop alone is usually £599, saved just under £300 with the bundle. John lewis is good for tech as you get a 2 year warranty included rather than 1 year elsewhere.

Has anyone received a Bridal Beauty Co mystery box before. Very tempted to forward a link to DH as he's just asked what I want for Xmas but it's a lot to spend for a 'crap mystery' 😬

I ordered my first box recently. It included 2 expensive retinol products that I can’t use so I’ve listed them on Vinted - one has already sold for almost the amount I’d paid for the bag. I’ve ordered the Black Friday one too hoping for some nice make up 🤞

HoHoJ0 · 25/11/2024 23:05

Sorry if this has been answered, still catching up but don’t want to forget. We ended up swapping all our rechargeable batteries to energizer as others only lasted a couple of charges. I think it’s an excellent present, especially pair with a battery box!

something like this! amzn.eu/d/1RFkbFp

fishfingersandchipsagain · 25/11/2024 23:05

Apple AirPod Pro 2 down U.K. £179 on Amazon.

I tried to do the trick of ordering for delivery for next week, in case they get reduced further, but it wouldn’t let me pick dates.

Costco is still cheaper if you have a card (I don’t).

NC2709 · 25/11/2024 23:14

Thanks @SweetPeaPods and @jocktamsonsbairn for the advice, not sure why it wouldn't come through for me, had checked junk etc. I'm very grateful though to @fishfingersandchipsagain who sent me one via pm so I am sorted. Thanks again!

Can vouch for Sevenstore

@Tomorrowisyesterday Is this the one you were looking for?

It doesn’t appear to have shared the whole post, so if you need to look back it was on page 30

fishfingersandchipsagain · 25/11/2024 23:35

Quidco £20 cashback on £100 with Pandora (I remember someone was looking for an offer). Not sure if it’s new tonight or from earlier in the day.

Threeboystwocatsandadog · 26/11/2024 03:19

Two completely unnecessary shortbread hampers ordered 🐑

Wellwhoknewthat · 26/11/2024 05:16

@Reastie going to need a new thread again shortly

4thtimesthecharm · 26/11/2024 06:11

Morning @reastie a heads up again/again.
Does anyone else feel disgruntled when they check back and there's 8 pages to skim through, mostly unrelated 😬
And yes, I am very, very thankful for all the tips, so I use the thanks button to show that

ImageMirror · 26/11/2024 06:38

Tesco have 20% off dining out gift cards. I picked up 2 yesterday, they cover pretty much every pub chain, Toby carvery, harvester etc

hugsandpugs · 26/11/2024 06:50

Oodie are doing an extra 10% off for today only

This is just on the Oodie onesies. Must sit on my hands. I am almost done and don't have wiggle room in the budget for gifts for me 😂

Oh yeah, just looked at the email again. Must have been half asleep reading it the first time 😂

Haha same here, I keep seeing bargains for me whilst looking for others 🙈
