Thread 11 - the one where I’m nostalgic for a cinnamon bum kit

Thanks @Beautifulsunflowers for the title. It was close between that and E.L.F on a shelf and some others - too many to choose from!

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4940918-4940918-bargain-referrals-thread-6 . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

@delahot Not bargainous but small business who do pick your own selection and could have all Turkish delight

@sillygoof It's really poorly advertised, there's no code I just received an email. If you start adding things to your basket they will look fully price but then when you go to checkout they will automatically discount.

That should say Tesco not teachers!!

I was quite excited there about a special teacher club card. Grin

Have you looked at sea salt or crew?

Seasalt socks are lovely
or TKMaxx have bamboo socks, they had lots last year :)

rheasmummy · 14/11/2024 06:54

I've just received an email that my Olaplex is on its way with the free gift but was told they'd ran out- so there's hope yet 🤞🏼

Tesco do Clubcard 'offers?'

I thought it was only 'Clubcard prices'

I didn't realise this either. If you open your tesco app, there's a section that says "coupons". To receive coupons, you have to follow the instructions to allow marketing. You literally just select accept and then you should hopefully start getting coupons based on your shopping habits. I did this 2 days ago but don't have any coupons showing yet... I'm hoping the money off clothing comes through before the 25% ends.

Anyone seen any chocolate covered Turkish delight on their travels? Thornton’s don’t do it anymore 🥺 and hard to find a nice box for a pressie.

Tesco had some, can’t recall the brand, around the £7/8 mark.

sillygoof · 14/11/2024 07:41

Didn’t end up buying anything from Harper Collins - I’ve got to stop buying for myself! - but I did notice Minilima versions of fairy tale and classics that look beautiful, and I know Minalima has been mentioned a few times here before. At half price they’d be £12.50. Free delivery over £25.

I usually buy dd a copy of vogue magazine in Spanish and one in French for her stocking. I buy from Newstand and they have go so expensive I was just wondering if anyone had any ideas of a different mag I could try. She’s not a vogue reader - it was all I could come up with.
She is 22 and prob more into something news/music/current affairs. She likes the free mag you get in French airports.

Thank you.

When I did this, it took ages (like a month or even more) for the coupons to start showing up in my account. It was so long I'd given up hope, tbh, but they did eventually appear. I hope it's quicker for you!

DD would like a set of Michael Morpurgo and Ben Miller books if anyone has seen any good deals on these please Smile

NotmySundaybest · 14/11/2024 08:23

I think the Kevin the carrots are in today!

fishfingersandchipsagain · 14/11/2024 08:25

Thanks for all the sock recommendations. I’ve gone with Seasalt ones for my dad, and White Stuff ones for my mum.

The sockshop ones were just very functional. Looked more like poundshop. And despite being bamboo they felt harder, like a cheaper cotton. Would be fine for everyday, but not for this (an ongoing family joke about socks).

Waffles21 · 14/11/2024 08:26

Hi everyone
Can anybody remember the thermal mini sticker printer that you can use to print revision notes etc please? Thinking it may be good for my son for his GCSE revision and now can’t find it! Thanks so much

fishfingersandchipsagain · 14/11/2024 08:28

Thanks to PP for the P Louise lip glosses got mine today and they look great!
Does anyone know if any codes for New Balance or if they do Black Friday? DD has asked for some 530’s but they’re a £100 everywhere. Don’t know whether to buy before they go oos or hold my nerve for any offers!

If your daughter is a size 5 or below (it might be 6 actually) you could look at the children’s new balance. They’re exactly the same but a lot cheaper. Same for all trainers, I get all mine from the children’s section and pay about half the price 😁

beetr00 · 14/11/2024 08:45

was it this?
