Thread 10 - the one with a rubber dick each

1000 replies

Reastie · 09/11/2024 06:18

Thanks @CalliopePlantain for the title. Lord of the Rings rubber dick anyone?! Grin

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4940918-4940918-bargain-referrals-thread-6 . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

Well they sell all sorts on the £10 Tuesday, perhaps he’s a “grown your own” 🤣

🤣🤣 he’s a bargain at a tenner!

Wellwhoknewthat · 12/11/2024 13:44

Would anyone know of a working code for Zatu please? I only want one game so the discount for multiples is no good.
They do have good prices on lots of board games including some more unusual ones.

Just saw this, incase it's any good for anyone.

For Claires, in case you are only wanting 2 items rather than 6, code BOGO works to buy one get one free.

I used it along with a £5 loyalty voucher to get two of the palm pals (jellycat dupes) for £1.50 each rather than £8 each. Easy to get the voucher with a new email address.

Would love a gingerbread house code if anyone has one please 🙏 I don’t have one on my Vodafone app 🤔😔

@Reastie thread title contender? the one with posh Clinique Dave available for a tenner

Thelifeofawife · 12/11/2024 13:51

If anyone has a spare Vodafone code for the gingerbread house, I’d be grateful

nicky2512 · 12/11/2024 14:02

Does anyone know if there’s likely to be a better discount on Guess than the 10% for signing up?
I want a Sofia bag for dd. They had 22% off yesterday but excluded the black that I wanted. Typical!
Not sure if I should wait and risk it selling out.

hugsandpugs · 12/11/2024 14:05

Apparently you need to be a customer of mobile contract AND home broadband for the Vodafone deal 😏👎 just contacted them about it

Guess used to have offers on a lot when I used that brand so worth holding out, they must have some offers around Black Friday.
It’s also worth contacting the McArthurglen outlets if you are local, to see if their store has any

MulticolourTriangles · 12/11/2024 14:08

@Wellwhoknewthat I'll PM you a code now - could only find one for 5% off though

All that for a gingerbread house? Gees, now I know how Hansel and Gretel felt 😅

PurpleSkittle · 12/11/2024 14:11

Looking for recommendations for an engraving pen. I keep seeing adverts for them on facebook and they look good - but are they? And, if so, any recommendations for brand/model? Obviously if there's a deal to be had, that would be great, but I want something that works well as a pressie for an adult. Thanks.

It’s worth checking your Claire’s account if you have one. I signed up last year and never used it again. I just checked and I had a £5 reward popped up in it, so I got two Christmas Palm Pals for £3 by using the BOGO code with the voucher.

You get £5 anytime reward each January and another £5 for your birthday yearly too. I used mine and got two furblets for £4, using those and the BOGO code. Keep an eye on your account

Yep 😂

They said to me if you take out broadband with us you would then be eligible for the extra offer of the gingerbread house…..

would work out to be an expensive gingerbread house 🏠 👎

beetr00 · 12/11/2024 14:18

@Itsanadventure

automatic wine opener? £15

mumtotwo11 · 12/11/2024 14:29

Lidl always do really nice gingerbread house kit and sometimes a train too, if that's any help (can't remember how much but not £££)

MulticolourTriangles · 12/11/2024 14:29

Can anyone recommend a goal for 10yo DD who has just started playing football? Was considering a pop-up one but if anyone has any recommendations I'd be grateful!

Did anyone ever receive the Tonys chocolate from O2 priority? Mine never appeared!

You've just reminded me that mine didn't either Confused

IlovePond · 12/11/2024 14:32

There were gingerbread house kits in IKEA last week, with money off if you were an IKEA family member.
