Thread 10 - the one with a rubber dick each

1000 replies

Reastie · 09/11/2024 06:18

Thanks @CalliopePlantain for the title. Lord of the Rings rubber dick anyone?! Grin

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4940918-4940918-bargain-referrals-thread-6 . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

Stock informer is a handy site http://www.stockinformer.co.uk/default.aspx?fullsite=1

Does anyone have a student code for EE £140 they won't use please? I've just graduated and no longer count... 😭🤣

YeahWellWhyNot · 12/11/2024 08:54

Totally spent a fortune on boots this morning. For me. Aargh. 🐏

redjoker · 12/11/2024 08:59

Mumto3thatsme · 12/11/2024 07:44

Can anyone remember the name of the company recommended for Christmas meats?
Thanks in advance!

Farmison?

redjoker · 12/11/2024 09:09

Normally I ignore the boots Tuesdays but they have some awesome stuff this week

After hours looking at E.L.F yesterday I really must step away 😐

YeahWellWhyNot · 12/11/2024 09:11

Yep I'm now actually done. I need to get off this thread but he fomo is awful. 😭

DirtyDensDog · 12/11/2024 09:24

25% off Woodwick and Yankee candies at Argos.

Large Yankee only £12.75

InbetweenDreams · 12/11/2024 09:31

My niece wants the Ariana Grande Love Notes perfume, which is on sale at boots for £56, but this is still over my budget for her. Does anyone know if it’s on sale anywhere else or if anywhere else that sells it might have a Black Friday sale coming up?

OkyDoke · 12/11/2024 09:33

Is anyone trying to get on £10 Tuesday on Boots and in a queue?

Iggii · 12/11/2024 09:36

Yep

IlovePond · 12/11/2024 09:39

Me too - it was fine a few minutes ago 🙀

Clearly it’s a sign that I don’t need anything else 😹

OkyDoke · 12/11/2024 09:41

Now I'm wondering what every one is queueing for!

I8toys · 12/11/2024 09:42

I don't even want anything and I'm queueing

IlovePond · 12/11/2024 09:43

I’m not in a queue now - technical difficulties apparently 🙀

Lisamari99 · 12/11/2024 09:49

The boots website can be a nightmare at the best of times, can't believe there's a queue now!

Itsanadventure · 12/11/2024 09:51

I have just made a thread but sticking it on here too. I’ve just found out my dd’s partner is staying over at Christmas, I would like a few things for him to open, I’m sure I’ve read on the bargain threads in the past years of cheapish novelty but useful/unusual kitchen gadgets but can’t remember any now that I need them. Any ideas appreciated

mAGICALnUtcracker · 12/11/2024 09:52

Morning! I am trying to plan a Christmas themed set up in the home corner at nursery. Needs to be wooden not plastic.

Have got a roast dinner set. Saw the Melissa and Doug Xmas cookies but far too expensive for us.

Has anyone seen any please? Thank you 😀

imnottoofussed · 12/11/2024 09:53

@InbetweenDreams Superdrug also £56. It's usually £75 so I'm not sure you'll find it cheaper than that

SweetPeaPods · 12/11/2024 09:57

Who's broken the boots website?!

Ivalueloyaltyaboveallelse · 12/11/2024 09:59

God knows, if I have my Boots order. I paid and then said technically issues and now in a queue, but the money has come out of my account. No confirmation email tho. Good luck everyone.

Ivalueloyaltyaboveallelse · 12/11/2024 10:00

technical issues sorry late night with DC

There’s a thread somewhere in Xmas for gifts for men that aren’t rubbish, probably has some good ideas.
how old are they/what are their hobbies/what’s your budget?

AirPod cleaning kit

Motion off headtorch just mentioned by a pp

A Laser spirit level

the things mentioned often here like a spicery cooking kit, cashmere fingerless gloves, oodie type jumper, nice socks, and cheese gifts might be good.

We have crashed the Boots site 🫣. I only wanted some Fenty cleanser...but £15 off was irresistible.
