Thanks @CalliopePlantain for the title. Lord of the Rings rubber dick anyone?! Grin

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4940918-4940918-bargain-referrals-thread-6 . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

Stock informer is a handy site http://www.stockinformer.co.uk/default.aspx?fullsite=1

@comewhinewith I nearly did the same after seeing one on Instagram. Did a Quick Look up on trustpilot and realised it was a scam thankfully. Theres a couple of companies that have stolen the pics from a genuine small business and are then sending out tat. I hope you get some money back. The person who makes the real thing is called Martha Brook if you want to look her up. Her advent calendar is sold out though (and was over £100).

Edited

Thanks @Conqueeftador - I'll bookmark that for next year 🙂

Thanks for the ethique tip - bit sad that they're closing, but will stock up while I can.

tellmewhenthespaceshiplandscoz · 11/11/2024 18:34

I've emailed to see if their will reinstate and honour as I can't see Ts and Cs to indicate I can't use today - I'll see how that goes.

Thanks for tip off and also help Grin

I think I read somewhere that the do these offers regularly, so may be worth holding out, especially with Black Friday approaching - your birthday offer and free delivery should still be available then

tellmewhenthespaceshiplandscoz · 11/11/2024 18:59

Thanks Life good point / think I'll do that Smile

nicky2512 · 11/11/2024 19:01

Sorry but has anyone from Northern Ireland made an Elf order? I just tried but it’s asking for a valid post code and not accepting my perfectly valid Northern Ireland one!!

nicky2512 · 11/11/2024 19:12

Ignore that! Tried again and it accepted it this time.

mybrainisbusybeingawesome · 11/11/2024 19:25

Jumped on the elf bargain this morning. It took a few hours to add my birthday reward so just went on again to buy £5 tweezers. It's added my free sample plus my free birthday lipgloss twice! Email confirmation shows two of these too. Will see if I get lucky when it's delivered

LostMyRubySlippers · 11/11/2024 19:33

Had an email from Aldi that they have their specially selected fake Bailey’s on offer for £4.99 this week until 17th. Usually costs £7.99

Whoever was after the Cricut 3 machine, Hobbycraft have it on offer and you get a free Hat Cricut machine. That alone is worth £139. I'm almost tempted myself.

Just ordered this £30 Infinity Santa for £25 from B&Q. Signed up to the B&Q Club and got a £5 off voucher. Infinity lights are becoming a big thing this year, and this is definitely the cheapest I've seen them.

Chuckling cheese company have had some offers on recently. I know people used them last year. I seem to recall the ass blaster pickles being mentioned? Anyway, todays offer is 25% off their Cheese crackers. I had a couple of truckles to take it over the £20 free delivery threshold. Box of four cheese crackers (you get a mini truckle mini chutney and mini cheese biscuits plus hat and cheesy joke in each) plus 2 x 200g truckles for £22 delivered sounds good to me.

N.B the crackers are for delivery on or after 30th November.

https://www.chucklingcheese.co.uk/online-artisan-cheese-shop/luxury-christmas-crackers-filled-with-cheese?code=CRACKER4SET&utm_source=ZohoCampaigns&utm_campaign=EMAIL+Christmas+Crackers+Reminder+11th+September&utm_medium=email

Thanks for this I got the crackers and made up the amount to free delivery with the 3 beer selection which had money off already so was £9.60 for the 3 beers.

Does anyone have a discount code for Marks & Spencer by any chance?

tellmewhenthespaceshiplandscoz · 11/11/2024 20:16

Just my Geek have lots of very cute Mini Tubz 20% off at mo ... free delivery if you order £50+ or a referral code will give you a £5 credit which pays delivery.

If anyone would like one I've put mine on the referral board x

Ocean59 · 11/11/2024 20:16

Does anyone know if Boots will be doing their £10 worth of points if you spend £60 days?

I'm sure they'd already happened in past years.

Thelifeofawife · 11/11/2024 20:17

@mybrainisbusybeingawesome @Broken12 I think I missed something - how are you getting free samples? It said free minis on orders over £35, your orders appear to have been less than that. I’m getting FOMO 😅

mybrainisbusybeingawesome · 11/11/2024 20:22

@Thelifeofawife earlier in the thread someone (I apologise can't remember username) said you could earn free points by going to the reward section and just clicking on the options to earn free points. I tried it and it built up my points balance. So when I went to checkout with the birthday gift (£5 tweezers in my basket) my rewards at checkout gave me freebies. No idea how it glitched but it added it twice. Just hoping it turns up! Also had free shipping as a reward and they all stack Grin

My 12 year old has asked for a sewing machine for Christmas but the kids ones look a bit young for her can anyone recommend one for a young beginner?
