Thanks @CalliopePlantain for the title. Lord of the Rings rubber dick anyone?! Grin

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4940918-4940918-bargain-referrals-thread-6 . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

Just got 20% off at Freemans with code F45R.

Have ordered the ridiculous Squishmallows advent calendar! Plus some socks to get to £30 free delivery.

Thank you so much for this. I also just got the squishmallow advent plus a couple of cute bunny baubles to take it to free delivery.

Beingacatbed · 11/11/2024 10:46

Iv just put an order through for elf and the money has been taken but on the app page it said there was a problem processing payment therefore my order hasn't went through. I have contacted them but has this happened to anyone else?

RainbowZebraWarrior · 11/11/2024 10:58

Chuckling cheese company have had some offers on recently. I know people used them last year. I seem to recall the ass blaster pickles being mentioned? Anyway, todays offer is 25% off their Cheese crackers. I had a couple of truckles to take it over the £20 free delivery threshold. Box of four cheese crackers (you get a mini truckle mini chutney and mini cheese biscuits plus hat and cheesy joke in each) plus 2 x 200g truckles for £22 delivered sounds good to me.

N.B the crackers are for delivery on or after 30th November.

Anyone seen any offers on the Moriah Elizabeth giant egg surprise? I have a kiddo desperate for it and I'm desperate not to spend £30 on it as it looks like absolute junk! Stocked in smyths but can't see any offers or codes atm.

Cheapest place to buy alcohol miniatures? They are for stockings.

Ewock · 11/11/2024 11:01

Has anyone got a picture of the geodes set in Home bargains. I've been in my local one and they have no idea what I'm talking about.
Thanks

Thelifeofawife · 11/11/2024 11:02

@Lidlisthebusiness The beauty storage on Debenhams is generally marked up quite high so it looks like a good deal when they knock something off.
For storage I’d recommend Shein. I got a beauty storage pod for appox £14. Sometimes you need to pop the item in your basket then wait for the price to drop.
They do a big range so I’m sure you’d find something suitable

@RainbowZebraWarrior i seen your comment about the squishmallow advent and went to order and it was out of stock 😭 do you know anywhere else who has stock of these? My daughter would love it

redjoker · 11/11/2024 11:13

I don't need anything from E.L.F but here i am £10 poorer!

Supermarkets - last year I'm sure Sainsbury’s do 3 for 2. Cocktail cans as well.

I8toys · 11/11/2024 11:15

Thanks for the elf codes. I just placed an order for an eyeshadow pallete, lip oil and 2 eyeshadow sticks for £15. Used the £10 code, free delivery but also signed up for email for new user which gave me £5 off a £20 spend. Bargain

I'm half expecting a cancellation now as I just put my order in an hour ago. It's out of stock online at John Lewis but I was about to jump on a train to the city to check my local store before I ordered via Freemans (it was only £20 in JL) It's out of stock on Amazon and they say unlikely to get any more, as do JL. Smyths don't seem to stock it which I find odd. If I do see any, I'll tag you.

Edited to add: Jelly, it's still showing as in stock for me and I'm able to add to my bag (Freemans)

I got a box of 4 flavoured gin miniatures in Asda for £5. Couldn’t see it on the app, so may be store dependent

@Ewock I know this set is currently in there for £2.99 as I bought one and posted on here about it! Could it be this? Been on my amazon wish list for ages shivering around £14 so I was delighted I'd seen it in home bargains!

Wholetthedogsoutwhowhowho · 11/11/2024 11:20

Forgot to add the pics sorry!

Do the codes stack? So did the £5 off work with the £10 off?

Thelifeofawife · 11/11/2024 11:26

@LostMyRubySlippers Thanks for the ELF recommendation, got DN a lipgloss and setting spray for £8!
I tried for the birthday offer but nothing was showing, but still happy with my haul

NauseousNancy · 11/11/2024 11:27

I’ll be buying a cricut - maker 3, hopefully a bundle. Does anyone know if they usually do good Black Friday deals?

Thelifeofawife · 11/11/2024 11:28

@I8toys was this via the elf website or the app?

NotAdultingToday · 11/11/2024 11:33

My 1st Years as an up to 50% sale on, i just ordered a new baby gift for a work colleague and also chanced using my blue light code discount and it worked!

Also last year i remember talk about coverless duvets after not paying attention i have decided i want one for at least ds1 as his bed its the hardest to change. Has anyone got any good recommendations?

Greenkindness · 11/11/2024 11:34

If you’re ordering from Boots, don’t forget to recycle health and beauty products for more points. Happy to talk anyone through the process.

ifIwerenotanandroid · 11/11/2024 11:34

MsSheldonCooper · 09/11/2024 08:15

I’m on the lookout for a reasonably priced (less than £25) tea advent calendar if anyone has any recommendations? Thanks

Haven't RTFT but Waitrose had a Pukka one yesterday for £10 instead of £13 IIRC.

Wholetthedogsoutwhowhowho · 11/11/2024 11:39

Student beans also works with the Elf app. Putty primer, two mascaras and a face cleanser for £6, thanks all! I didn't do the birthday thing as I buy their products anyway so thought of it as a treat for myself on my actual birthday.
